We were staying just above the wharf and spent about 20 minutes walking over. They had a great array of crusty, sweet and savory pastries, pies, and breakfast items. Perhaps the most impressive thing was the fact that their list of specials took up an entire chalkboard. Everything from sweet rolls too, wallaby and rabbit, pie, to some delicious eggs Benedict and a big English breakfast. They had something for everybody, and everything was really good! The place is housed in a relatively old building with a lot of character! Not so old that you're worried that you would find petrified things in the wall, but old enough that you definitely know the place has had a chance to fall over and won't. The staff was really nice, took great care of us and found us seats very quickly, despite the place being busy. All in all, this is a must check out spot whenever you are in town!

Parking can sometimes be an issue, so be prepared to walk a bit during busier times. Coffee isn't the greatest, but I do give them points for consistency. It's always far too hot and a bit weak for my taste, asking for an extra shot definitely helps. Not the best coffee on the Eastern Shore, but certainly not the worst.

After passing by the art gallery and the souvenir store, I decided to get an early pick me up. Went to the counter and ordered and espresso. Service was great: polite and quick... just the way I liked it. I noticed that they sold the Tasmanian plush toys raising funds for the fire relief efforts (a noble cause). They have pastries and all sorts of coffee drinks available. For those who want a full on breakfast, you can grab that in the back. I only had my coffee here this morning and unfortunately the beans were a little too acidic for me. All in all, a great little place next to our hotel (Macq01) so I know where to go if I needed to grab something quick in the morning!

Perfection. This is wonderful bread and the care that goes in to the presentation (on a wooden board with a vintage knife) elevates this from "boring menu option" to "beautiful and memorable". My companion has the baked beans and almost stabs me with his fork when I lean over trying to sample some. Everything here is good - the wonderful coffee, the simple but considered breakfast items, the friendly and efficient service, the cute interior.... I watch people sit out the front in the sunshine, dogs by their feet, newspapers across their laps and I daydream about moving to Tasmania just so I can make this my local.
