Nice small venue, great parking available, very clean premises, a bit unappealing architecture, but really a fine location for small events.

I believe they do not. See the list below. They are on the list but not for the rapid test. Those are all the locations that do testing. FYI. Some doctors offices also do rapid and regular testing to confirm results.… Read more

He also served as a Florida senator from 1971 to 1989. When he was running for his senate seat in 1970 he didn't have a lot of campaign money so his wife suggested a walk through Florida as a way to connect with voters. He completed a 1,003 mile walk over 91 days from Pensacola to Key West and the walk made him a Florida legend. In 1999 Governor Jeb Bush designated the trail he traveled the Lawton Chiles Trail. This 19 acre park is located next to the Morikami Park Elementary School. Park amenities include two bocce courts, softball field, paved exercise path, two horseshoe pits, a veterans memorial, picnic area with tables, and the large Governor Lawton Chiles Memorial pavilion that can be rented. This is the first park I have come across that has a petanque court. Petanque is a game similar to Bocce but instead of bowling like you do in bocce, you instead toss the ball. Governor Lawton Chiles Memorial Park is located across the street from the Morikami Japanese Museum and Gardens. The park is open every day from sunrise to sunset. This park is ideal for large groups who want to have a picnic or anyone looking to exercise or enjoy sports.

Over the years, the library operated from several locations, including the Army Air Field and Boca Raton City Hall. Today, the Spanish River Library and Community Center is one of two libraries in Boca Raton. This library is a stunning 41,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility designed in the Mediterranean Revival style. The library officially opened on January 26, 2008, following the approval of a $19.8 million bond by Boca Raton taxpayers in 2003 to expand the city's public library system. The building is so beautiful that it even serves as a wedding venue and features a catering kitchen for special events. Beyond its extensive collection of fiction and nonfiction books, the library offers quiet reading and study spaces, meeting rooms, a snack room with vending machines, a children's area, an art gallery, and scenic patio seating. The Friends of the Boca Raton Public Library, a nonprofit volunteer organization founded in 1990, has raised funds for many major library initiatives, including the library's bookmobile, which brings library services to underserved communities; AWE Early Literacy Stations at both the Downtown Boca Raton Public Library and Spanish River Library; and the award-winning StoryWalk trails located in Boca Raton's public parks. Perhaps the library's most distinctive feature is its breathtaking lakeside setting next to the Pondhawk Natural Area. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide beautiful views of Blue Lake, creating a peaceful atmosphere for reading or working. A scenic loop trail circles the lake and connects to Pondhawk's 79 acres of paved and natural-surface trails, where visitors can spot native plants and wildlife. The trail also links to Countess de Hoernle Park and Spanish River Athletic Park, making the library the perfect starting point for a day of nature and learning.

I was already familiar with two of the playwrights, which made it even more enjoyable. The evening featured several short plays, each about 15 minutes long, with a 20-minute intermission in between. It was a wonderful addition to the evening. I'm usually away this time of year, so this was my first opportunity to attend, and I'm so glad I did. The tickets were also very reasonably priced, making it an excellent value for a night of live theater. I hope to make this an annual tradition and will definitely be back next year!

The current church location was purchased in 1983 and the doors opened in 1985. For the past 37 years the church has been hosting an annual Greek festival that has been providing the community with Greek foods, rides, games, children's activities, and shopping. I was attending the festival and decided to take one of the church tours that were offered. I was so glad that I took the tour because I learned so much and was amazed at the beauty of the sanctuary. The church's patron is St. Mark who was an apostle who wrote his gospel in Greek. He preached the gospel and brought Christianity to Africa. He became a martyr in the year 68 when he was put to death for his faith. During the tour I learned a few things about the Orthodox Church. They light a candle before going into the sanctuary to pray for someone in need. Then they kiss the icons before entering the sanctuary to show respect and love. The icons themselves are not worshiped, only God is worshiped. The icons of Mary and the saints are kissed as a sign of reverence. In the sanctuary Saints and bible scenes done in gold leaf were covering the walls and ceilings. At the front of the church is a wall called the iconostasis with icons hung on it that face the congregation. Royal doors are in the middle of the iconostasis which allow you to see in the altar. Although I am not Greek Orthodox I love to visit beautiful sanctuaries and to learn how other people of faith worship. The congregation here were very welcoming and were happy to answer my questions. If you come to the festival I highly recommend a visit.

After looking around I was delighted to find that it contained one of my favorite civic organizations, a woman's club. In the 1920's women's clubs were formed to give back to the community. They became a way for women to get out of the house and assert their independence. They allowed women to get involved in politics and launched the women's rights movement. The Boynton Beach Woman's Club was formed in 1908 when a group of civic minded women met in the school house to form a club to improve the town. The club was formerly organized on October 19, 1909 and incorporated in 1911 when they joined the Florida's Federation of Women's Clubs. The first club building was a structure built from salvaged ship wrecks. The club eventually outgrew their first building and sold it in 1924 for $10,000. At that time the heirs of Major Nathan Smith Boynton offered to give $35,000 towards a new building for the club as a memorial to their father if the club could raise the rest of the money. The Mediterranean Revival building was designed by my favorite architect Addison Mizner who offered to draw the plans for free. The ornate Mediterranean Rival Style was very popular in Florida during it's land boom years in the 1920's. The firm of Heaton and Adams did the construction for a cost of $50,000 and the building was completed in the fall of 1926. On April 16, 1932 the cornerstone of the building was laid and it was dedicated to Nathan Smith Boynton. The building served as the town's first public library until 1961. It also provided meeting space for churches and civic organizations. Shortly after the building was completed it served as a hurricane shelter. During World War II the Red Cross and the USO used the building as a center. In 1979 the building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Mizner Foundation repaired the building in time for the Diamond Jubile in 1986. In 2014 the building was added to the Boynton Beach Register of Historic Places in 2014. The Boynton Beach Women's Club continues to occupy this building today. The building can be rented for weddings and private events. The Boynton Woman's Club supports numerous charities, gives scholarships, and holds events which can be found on their online calendar. They continue to do charitable work today in their gorgeous historic clubhouse. Check them out to see their community outreach.
