While the disease progressed so rapidly, and Squeege was unable to be saved, the amount of work and compassion they delivered was impressive. They care for your critters like they are their own. Skye reached out to me on the day I was scheduled to arrive home and said that she was heading out but oh by the way Rudy seemed to be "panting" alot the evening before and that day. She stated she would turn the a/c down for him. She did not send any other information about his condition. She did not contact a vet to ask about or evaluate his symptoms. I arrived home 5 hours later to my dog in labored breathing, unable to lift himself up. I immediately rushed him to an emergency vet, spent hundreds of dollars trying to save him but ultimately he died in my arms less than 3h later. Rudy died from fluid accumulation pressing down on his lungs and suffocated to death. This is not something that develops rapidly, he had been in this state for at least 24h before his death per the vet. As an "EMT", and petsitter, Skye should have been able to tell the difference between "panting" and labor breathing - she did nothing and left my dog to slowly suffocate alone and scared. This review is genuinely to warn other pet owners that this woman is not qualified to take care of your dog, especially if they are older or have medical conditions. Please seek petsitting services elsewhere, I wish everyday that I had. I'm not sure if Skye will respond to this or not (she has threatened to) but I have texts, vet bills, and medical records from his emergency treatment that I am happy to share if she denies this. I needed to board 1 dog for 8 hours on August 1st, and he has no special needs, and has been there before. I put down a 25.00 deposit. I really cannot afford to do this, and on 7-19 (11 days notice) called to cancel and requested a return of the deposit. Apparently it is in the fine print that if you cancel, even with 11 days notice, they give you a credit. You can cancel any physician appointment with 24 hours notice, or less. I explained the reason: financial. This makes me feel ill: I cant afford it. They didnt care, and kept my money. You shouldnt have to be rich to board an uncomplicated pet for 8 hours. This is shameful, at the very least. This is an addition, after my review went live: the refusal to return by deposit with 11 days notice and making it a store credit was NOT explained when I made the reservation over the phone. They are very expensive and in my experience there are hidden fees, despite the answer from the owner. To the owner: trust me, I am sorry as well.
