After talking with several modular suppliers we chose Laporte Housing Specialists (LHS).....it was an amazing and great experience working with the complete team of individuals from LHS. First off it took 11.5 weeks from start (day they dug out the dirt) to finish (certificate of occupancy) and this included a few small delays. The house itself is very nice plus with the additional front porch & garage makes it even nicer. Our biggest dilemma was picking the design for the lot and after working with LHS we came up with the right fit, feel, and look. Modular vs. stick built---hands down modular the way to go. Cost savings was incredible and choices are there for every taste level. Again a huge shout out to the complete crew--Missy-Bob-Ryan-Niki-Patrick-Aaron--Randy....including the sub contractors (concrete--HVAC--garage--porch--electrical--paint & touch-up). Plus it was a pleasure working with the Benton Township Building Inspections team since we had great workmanship from all the facets of the build team---it made the inspection process an easy experience and would recommend the LHS team highly--they go the extra steps to make this a great house and a great experience. read more

We purchased a home from LaPorte Housing Specialists after a house fire. we looked at several options for rebuilding and the team at LHS won me over. There was no pressure at all to go with them, use a certain product or spend "x" amount of money. They took the drawings that I came up with and had their builder price it out. When the plans were agreed upon, we sat down with Judy to pick out colors, cabinets, counter tops, flooring, windows, trim, doors, siding, etc., it was like sitting at the table with your best friend who truly cared about getting what we wanted. During the build process we got consent updates from Bob about the house build and site work, and any bank concerns from Missy. When the house was delivered the set up crew was very professional, fast , and very thankful for us using LHS. The crews are finishing the inside of my house now...... yes it will crack going down the road....how could it not, its moving at 70 MPH down a roadway. We can not wait to move in. My husband and I are SO happy we decided to go through Laporte Housing Specialists when it comes to building our house. Everyone at LHS is professional and extremely efficient at their job! The house building process can be so stressful but Missy, Bob, Ryan, and Chris made the process so easy for us. My wife Julie and I began our build on February 3rd [2020] and amazingly the house was ready on CInco de Mayo [5/5/20]. When our process started we pf curse has NO idea we would be building and relocating THROUGH COVID-19 !!! My wife and I started looking at houses about two years ago and visited LaPorte housing to see what they had on their lot. After meeting with Judy we went over what we were looking for. After many floor plans and Months later we finally found a floor plan that we both liked. Judy was very patient and helpful with us. Judy and Patrick met us out at our property and went over location and logistics of the house and garage and reviewed where the utilities would be to make sure everything would work as planned. If we forgot anything and then thought about it, we made a call and they took care of it right away. The entire staff was very friendly and professional. After the house was set and we were able to walk through there were couple of things that needed attention, NIki and Bob did a good job of working with us and the Manufacturer to get it rectified. We lost our home to a fire last July and didn't feel like dealing with contractors and waiting a long time for a new home.
