I was very lucky to have Kevin LaPorte to represent me as my attorney in my disability case.

She stopped my benefits, after receiving for 10 years due to an assault at work. Injuries and surgery that was unsuccessful, left me with residuals. After work man comp, I applied for my SSDI benefits cause my disability became permanent. In 2007 I was denied. Workers comp attorney helped with SSDI case and won. Benefits began 2008. Over time the wear and tear of my profession started to show up, and some injuries we're never properly addressed. I've been treated by a physician ever since 2005 ongoing up until current. Current conditions now, is osteoarthritis in lower spine with sciatica, carpal tunnel in both wrist and hands that are numb to touch and painful, severe uncomfortable high blood pressure, sleep apnea and mental illnesses such as major depression and bipolarism. I had my case appealed cause the judge decision was unfavorable. They remanded to return. Had a hearing with my attorneys present. Wait three months more for her to make another unfavorable decision against remand orders, and failed to consider supportive medical evidence to restore my need for medi-care and benefits for my children and self. I've been wrongfully evicted, and is now homeless living on the streets with current health conditions that are life threatening. I'm no longer able to function for my 5,8,9, and 12 year old daughter and sons. My health care is not being managed at all. I feel she may have something to do with that. Something needs to be done about my unfair and unjust treatment by this judge. She is abusing her power and violating my civil rights with no regard to the fact that there are young children involved and may lose their mother as a result.

I also note how welcoming his office staff would be when I visited the office in San Jose in person or when I had email inquiries. My SSDI disability lasted just a couple of years because later an effective medication was found for my condition and I was able to return to full-time employment. However, in 2022, as a result of COVID, I developed a rare neurological disease and currently am struggling. I know that if my condition worsens to the point that I won't be able to keep up any longer, I will reach out to Terry again about filing for SSDI. *** There is something else I would like to share. In 2001-2003 I worked as a freelancer in the capacity of a registered court interpreter through translation agencies, appearing at hearings before Administrative Law Judge in the federal building in San Jose. I appeared at SSDI hearings and witnessed several disability attorneys but most frequently Terry LaPorte. I was impressed by his consummate professionalism and saw first hand how respectful all the administrative judges were when they interacted with Terry. They clearly valued his expertise and judgment. Based on my positive impressions, I reached out to none other than Terry when, many years later, I myself needed representation. I applied for benefits in December 2017 and received them in January 2018, without ever being denied.

Phone Consult with Kelsey Anderson-Kline, today August 18th, 2026…read more The whole conversation her tone was accusatory, condescending, aggressive, loud as if she was yelling at me, and absolutely unprofessional. This is a 2 year SSDI case I have been experiencing firsthand and unfairly. This person was absolutely traumatizing and I don't care who you are related to, you should be an objective, inquisitive, and active listener when working with these cases and individuals. I do NOT recommend LaPorte, nor do I trust this firm. Honestly, It is as if Kelsey Anderson - Kline (formerly LaPorte) is on a mission to agree with all denials under her own interpretation of SSDI requirements. Kelsey, says "Oh they always use templates when sending explanations. They just used the wrong template on your case..." WHAT? That in itself is complete idiocracy of what you may experience with LaPorte Law Firm. fyi: idiocracy - common sense and smart leadership are replaced by mass foolish or unintelligent people (ignorance) Remember it is not what you know, it is who you know. Perhaps that is the case here.

I wanted one of the best disability lawyers in California and several attorneys highly recommended Michelle and it was soon apparent why - she's a brilliant lawyer and she's a fighter. She won my claim against a big insurance company. She helped me obtain social security disability coverage. When the insurance company decided to pay me a lump sum amount she fought to get me more money by questioning their methodology and won. When I needed an employment attorney she gave me an excellent referral and worked with them to ensure that my disability benefits were protected. At every turn over 4 years she won, won, won. I simply couldn't rate a fellow attorney any higher than Michelle. Amazing!

Yes, that is crucial as a crucial element that makes up everything for supporting a client's best interest. I will always remember the attention given to me and my case and I highly recommend anyone seeking any services from Roberts Disability Law to go all in and not think twice, if the opportunity is given to spearhead your case. The firm believes in "righteousness" for the client and to me that is the biggest win of all. Much Respect - An extremely satisfied client. The icing on the cake was Michelle for hiring such a great team and for being engaged and involved with my case. Awesomeness!!
