I was looking for help in filing an appeal for my SSI application. Many people online recommended them. They had asked me for confidential medical documentation, which I sent within the week. However, after 3 weeks of them wasting the time I have for my appeal window, they notified me that they are refusing to represent me in my case. No reason was given. I highly recommend Terry LaPorte. He was my attorney in 2017/2018 and provided continuous support with questions and issues as they came up after his representation ended. READ the other bad reviews. They will support each other. Sadly, I did not realize that my attorney was not helping me very much until I saw a new one. My new attorney was very surprised at how much my LaPorte attorney (Note: there are multiple LaPortes here) did NOT do it for me. I realize now that I probably lost my case because of this. Lack of experience and guidance from elders? I was so impressed with my new attorney. Night and day. She really knew what she was talking about and spent two hours with me where as LaPorte spent 30 minutes and then didn't hear back by phone until the before the hearing. LaPorte never prepared me for the hearing. It didn't go well and I didn't feel I was well represented in it. This just makes my new case even that much harder to win I'm informed after hearing decision was reviewed. I am so disappointed with my representation from Anne LaPorte. She clearly wasn't interested in my case. She wouldn't remember the important details of my case. I got leas than 24 hours notice for my SSDI hearing. I had to call multiple times and each time went through the situation with her assistant only to be transferred and go through it again with Anne or have my issue forgotten later. I would then email or call back, and it was as if we had never spoken. I didn't know what would happen at the hearing and was totally unprepared for the questions asked. It is hard to answer without thinking about it when you suffer with severe pain and cognitive impairment. She didn't get across in the hearing what was needed to win my case, and I wasn't given time to speak other than to answer her questions. She didn't ask things that would prove my case. She didn't tell me that I could have had someone come and testify on my behalf. She didn't explain to the judge or let me when he made snarky comments in response to my medication side effects. read more

This review is based on a phone call I made to this company. I feel like the lady was not very helpful and tone of voice sounded as if I was bothering her. I called to try to get some information about SSI and rules and regulations around getting an inheritance. Basically she said they can't help me answer any questions around social security and that their attorneys only talk to people who get you social security denied. If they're a social security attorney they know the laws on that the lady wasn't very helpful at all. When I asked if she knew syndrome that could help she just basically said to call Social Security but Social Security all they're going to tell me because I already called them is that you can't have more than $2000 and my mother is going to inherit money from the sale of her deceased father's home. Ugh! As far as a wastin my time to share this review..... when you're a a business and you are the storefront you should answer the phone with a smile, you should have a helpful tone in your voice because it really shows that you enjoy your job and enjoy helping people after all you are answering the phone so you should be having the highest customer service skills possible! read more

Terry helped me with my case about two years and I just haven't had the chance to review him on yelp. Terry was very helpful with any questions I had always and filed all the paper worked that I required for the appeal. When It came down to the week of court date he called me a few days before and made sure I had all my questions answered. From the get go he was very helpful and friendly to me and that is hard to find in a lawyer. The judge we happen to have is very tough however, we were very prepared which helped a lot in my case. I was already getting a lot of push back because of my age however, I sustained a lot of injuries due to my service while in the Marine Corps. After the hearing we weren't sure how it went because they judge was very tough and hard to read about 2-3 weeks later I found out we won our case. The reason we won is because Terry had everything prepared correctly and ensure I knew how to answer the questions that were asked of me correctly.
