When I asked Manuel(the owner and only worker here) about his yelp reviews he replied "what's yelp?" Manuel is the owner of this shop and he is a great mechanic, honest and lower priced than most. He worked on my 1967 Cadillac. He also had a older C10, a 63' Impala, a 65' impala and a K5 in the shop at the same time so if you have older chevys or GM vehicles bring it to him. He also had a few newer vehicles that he was going to be working on as well. He diagnosed a few suspension issues on my caddy, fixed my leaky transmission, fixed a vacuum leak, and a few other things. I'm bringing my car back in a few weeks for even more work. Don't be afraid because lack of reviews he's super old school(cash only, hand written invoices, do I really need to continue? lol) just call him or stop by. You won't be disappointed. They took over a week before they even started my car and I had to keep calling to check status. Once I finally got my car back the broke a coolant line and tried to seal it with a putty. Luckily I had just replaced it and had an extra on I ordered from Amazon so I replaced it myself. They told my to come back at 1500 to get first service, that was a mistake and shouldn't have gone back. They damaged a brand new cv axle I had just replaced a few weeks prior and told me they'd charge me 190 for a new one and then labor on top of that. I told them to put it back together and I'd replace it again as it was still under warranty, I just had to take it off. Which I am very mechanical inclined but I can't rebuild a transmission which is why I went there. So when I drove off I noticed some suspicious suspension noise, then I hit the brakes and my car started shaking real bad, now it didn't have that problem before I brought it to them. I took off my wheel and noticed the back end or the lower control arm was loose and not placed properly. So now I have to correct what they did, such a headache that I payed for. These guys really helped me out! My car was diagnosed at a different shop needing a transmission…read morereplacement. The car was jerk-stopping while driving with no check engine light. Since the car had 95K miles I did not want to put a used transmission in it since the car had low miles. For me it would either be a rebuild or a remanufactured trans. The remanufactured trans were not available so it narrowed it down to a rebuild option that the original diagnosing shop would not be able to do. I called Rich at Riverside Transmission Center and made an appointment to have the car checked out. I had it towed in at lunchtime on Friday and he would check it out the same day. He called at the end of Friday to let me know that they needed another hour on Monday morning to be sure. It was no problem for me. Rich called on that Monday and told me that he hooked up a computer to the OBDII port and noticed that the speed reading on the computer was different than the speedometer. He then gave me good news that the issue was likely a speed sensor and I might not have to change the transmission after all. I gave him the OK to change the speed sensor and worked fine after that. Thanks Rich for saving me a transmission replacement! Five stars!
