Lara Masonry just finished work at my house and I couldn't recommend them more. Roberto, the owner, came promptly to look at what we needed done - repairing a stucco wall on a small structure and fixing a stucco wall around a patio that was starting to fall. We wanted to just repair it, but he explained that to do it right the wall needed to be demolished and a new one put up with a proper foundation. After getting several other estimates, for similar amounts, we decided to go with his proposal because his assessment was the most logical and knowledgeable and we felt we could trust him the most. We were right. The quality of his work was exceptional. He and his two helpers were real craftsmen, incredibly hard-working, pleasant, came and left on time and cleaned up when work was completed. Help! My patio is caving in and it has only been a few months since it was built. Roberto also charged me extra for a needed step which his men used the pavers I bought to make it and they just literally laid it on the ground. It was separating the minute I stepped on it and he will not fix anything. He remembered. twice. that he charged me extra for this step and was going to fix it - but then never did. He did not even respond when I contacted him the third time. However, originally he admitted that the men ran out of sand and why it was separating. But now he doesn't remember charging me extra the step even though it is on the invoice, He also did not use the correct paver for the trim edges of my patio- they are all pavers with ridges and not made for the trim. My friend in construction pointed this out to me. He also forgot which pavers I wanted for the trim or the inside and I did not make him redo it to be nice to him. But...this man is not nice or professional and did truly a schlock job that I need to get fixed because worst of all it is caving in. It looks like I will need some legal help soon. Lara Masonry - Separating step and caving in patio - Masonry/Concrete Near Me - Chapel Hill, North Carolina

i had a 3 X 3 hole in brick & block on side of house where we replaced an HVAC unit. after trading email's with Roberto Cuevas, we agreed @ noon 9/22 to give me estimate. he arrived around 12:30 (ok, late... but at least he showed up... some guys didn't even do that.) he gave me an estimate of $500 to repair brick & block which would take about 1/2 day. i had brick/block... so that's just labor & mortar (i had previous estimate of $200 for same... so i know he's a bit high... or maybe just not that interested.). i asked if he would e-mail me an estimate and about how long would it take to schedule work? said it would take about 1-2 weeks to get on schedule and he would e-mail me estimate. It's now 3 weeks later... and haven't heard anything back. i think it's safe to say, i'll need to look elsewhere. I think you should do the same. read more

I decided to post a long overdue review of Lara Masonry after reading a 1 star review. Lara Masonry did all the masonry and tile work on our new house when we built it in 2015. They are very knowledgeable and creative-and competitively priced. Our 24x30 carport was built with brick, in a tedious to build but beautiful lattice pattern, and we didn't know how to finish the top. Roberto came up with an idea that was just perfect. They also did the stonework on the body of the house and poured the concrete floors for the interior of the house, the carport, and our greenhouse. We were dissappointed in many of the tradesmen we used while building our own home, having to constantly supervise their work. Roberto was not one. He supervised his crew and they were tops! Just look at the pavement brickwork at Weaver Street Market's outdoor seating area in Southern Village. I was shopping there a few years ago, long after our house was built, and it was Roberto and his crew doing the work. We also had him tile our bath. The design was ours and included imbedding actual seashells into the floor of the shower which was poured concrete. Though unconventional, his crew willingly placed each tiny shell-without charging us extra! We also used a unique, curvy edged wall tile made of various sized glass bubbles and wanted to incorporate that into the very linear porcelain tile design. That meant each square tile had to be cut in a curve to match. Lara Masonry did a fantastic job again. I have no hesitation in recommending Roberto and Lara Masonry! read more
