I walked in with a friend while she ordered food, and I grabbed a large Fiji water bottle from the cooler without checking the price. When I went to pay, an employee asked if I wanted to add a tip for ringing up a bottle of water I'd picked out myself. I was distracted talking to my friend and didn't catch the total until after the fact: $8.46 for a bottle of water. I did not leave a tip. To be clear, I travel frequently and always buy Fiji or Evian -- I know what these typically cost. Never would I have guessed this would run more than $5-6. I won't be returning, on principle. I was so happy to find a vegan spot inside Ponce City Market! It's tucked away into a corner but the place was packed when we popped in. I ordered the nachos and was shocked at the size of them! It's a huge serving and definitely big enough to share. They had lots of yummy toppings including edible glitter too!! What?? I didn't know I needed glittery nachos in my life until that moment. They have a lot of dope shirts, hats and other things you can purchase. I specifically went to try the coffee. I chose the Plantain Latte. I was told by staff that others have said it tasted like chocolate. It was absolutely delicious! It didn't taste like a plantain at all to me and like chocolate. I loved it. I was genuinely surprised and impressed. My friend had a smoothie but she couldn't remember the name of it but didn't care of it due to the kiwi maybe not being blended up enough (kiwi peel). The matcha was pretty good and was kinda sweet but I think I don't like the oat milk with it. Other than that the matcha tasted pretty good. I'm pretty sure they use ceremonial grade. The smoothie took about 20 minutes to come out. It was not bad. Definitely a little on the sweeter side though. Heads up, this place is a bit tucked away! The server was so helpful, I had been on the hunt at Ponce City Market for a hot chai, and didn't find many good options. They were able to make it hot for me and also satisfy my craving for waffles which is not always easy to find as a vegan. I'm so glad I finally drooped in to try LaRayia's. I tried the Tyler Berry, and it was fantastic. The first sip had me hooked. The smoothies are not cheap. I paid $15, which included a tip, but I have to say it was well worth it. The all natural ingredients are what you're paying for. LaRayia's is divided between two shops across from one another one serving smoothies, tea, and Acai plus coffee . The other serves the food options, which is limited, but well worth trying. I was lucky to have gone at a good time on a busy Saturday. My food came out fast and it was hot and fresh! I had the picasso nachos (fully vegan), and they were so good.
