There was some sort of force field drawing us into Gourmet Larder. We tossed and turned about sitting inside or out and in the end we took a seat by the window. There are tables available on the footpath for prime people watching, in the rear courtyard for a little more privacy or inside with an industrial but still cosy feel. The waiter was wonderful! Charismatic, cheery and funny. And whilst we did escape his memory for a while we didn't really mind. We only stayed for a coffee but it was a really good drop and I would definitely recommend giving the Larder a go! read more

Stopped by for a late breakfast & since it is always pretty busy here, luckily a table had just become available for our group of 5. The service is friendly & bottled water was brought to our table straight away, as well as our orders taken for coffee.There's a large menu selection for all day breakfast. I was looking for a dairy & gluten free option & decided on the vanilla rice pudding with rhubarb, strawberries and flaked almonds which was absolutely delicious. The other meals for our group looked pretty good too, bacon & eggs were a generous size serving, there's definitely no scrimping on the bacon here. We were all very happy with our breakfast choices. No split bills, but that's ok. There's also produce available for purchase including coffee beans, wine, condiments & sauces. I would highly recommend Gourmet Larder when visiting Daylesford, whether for breakfast, brunch, lunch or just for a coffee. read more

Really cute little cafe. 5 stars for the coffee, it was amazing so we went back again the following day! We also had lunch here, the Vietnamese chicken salad which was fresh and delicious but had a little too much fish sauce dressing and husband had the pork slider, he enjoyed that. Probably one of the best cafes I've encountered in the region -- the meals are as visually stunning as they are full of flavor! At Larder presentation does not go to the wayside for their healthy and tasty fare. We have eaten here two days in a row as we cannot get enough of the food, tea and coffee. The space is as characterful as the service team, friendly, warm, and efficient. We have eaten during the week and almost every table was taken, even at off-peak times, so if you're coming on the weekend get here early. What a great little cafe. We just missed the breakfast menu (must finish around 11.30 or 12), but found some Spanish baked eggs on the lunch menu to get our egg fix. Just gorgeous. Loads of beautiful tomato sugo, potato, chorizo, green capsicum, 2 delicious eggs and yummy sourdough to help wash it all down. Coffee was a tad watery, but not too bad. My hubby's soy chai and freshly squeezed OJ were delicious. Super friendly staff who are clearly passionate about what they do. Also a lovely selection of cheese to take home. read more

This seems to be our go to place in Daylesford, whether it is for a coffee or brunch or lunch the L1 section has always delivered! An all day breakfast menu with lunch options from midday, there are plenty of things to choose from, offering options for various dietary requirements. Most recently, I was there for lunch and enjoyed the snapper which had roasted kipfler potatoes (oh, yes!) and the most deliciously fresh green beans. I've also enjoyed some sensational poached egg dishes here as well and everything has always been super fresh and full of flavour. Coffee is excellent and made with passion, a pour over available and staff that can talk about the beans of the day/week. A relaxed atmosphere and take away coffee is popular here. read more

We were visiting Daylesford and spotted this inviting and foodie looking joint as a brekkie destination. It has a inviting atmosphere and is well appointed. The food was good...the three of us enjoyed different dishes which included the Quinoa Potatoe Cakes, the Panna Cotta and the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and beetroot relish. The coffees were variable....the Piccolo and Cappucinno were good while the Macchiato was average.... This was a comfortable experience where the service was ok...indeed everything was ok however nothing was really good or really bad. However if I was visiting Daylesford again and looking to do beakfast or brunch we would go back.... read more

Nice little cafe. Takes itself seriously and maybe with justification. Went here for breakfast with three others. Very nice coffee. I was beset with indecision about my food order. I was intent on having oatmeal and was surprised it wasn't on the menu. Considered the big breakfast too but it's ridiculously overpriced at $29. Considered the muesli with panna cotta but was enormously worried that it was said to be toasted not Swiss. I needn't have worried. It was barely toasted and very tasty. I was deeply impressed by the numbers of macadamias scattered through it. Generous I thought. The dish looked a bit small but wasn't. It was a nicely balanced portion. The milk was presented in a jug and was beautiful and creamy. The panna cotta was gorgeous - sweet, shapely and very very tasty. I really enjoyed this dish. The service was good under pressure. It was Chill Out weekend and the staff were gracious and measured despite the heavy demand. I would happily return to this establishment. It's good. read more

Visited the Larder today for the first time for a bite to eat around 12. I went in looking to just have breakfast and hoping for some eggs benedict. Unfortunately they didnt have it and I decided on the gnocchi instead. What a surprise I had as it has to be one of the best I have had. The garlicky sauce and the crispy prosciutto really made this dish something to come back to Daylsford for. The service was great, and the people were nice. I'd recommend trying out the Larder on your next trip through. read more

Popped in for an afternoon coffee while cruising the streets of Daylesford. Place is incredibly popular on the weekend and appeared to have quite a good menu. While we did manage to show some self control, the cakes, tarts and other sweets looked incredible and well worth trying if you are looking to unleash your sweet tooth. The coffees were just ok, even as a new coffe drinker I found their blend a little lacking in that caffeine punch. read more

Stopped in for breakfast and left feeling pretty disappointed. While the service was quick, the staff were very cold. I had the Eggs Benedict and it was very plain, not a lot of taste to it at all. The serving size was pretty small too. For $17 I would have expected more than just one small piece of ciabatta bread. The coffee was fairly bitter too. read more
