Its my local sandwich destination as there's only really fast food/junk food around this area otherwise. Luckily they serve a really nice selection of food. The toasted cheese and ham is out of this world. Nothing is over priced which is something you can't say about most Brighton delis. The lady in charge ran around to sort our table out with the right chair and highchair combinations, and made sure all adults and babies were happy and settled. The menu is actually quite extensive for such a small place. Breakfasts, sandwiches, hot meals, cakes and ice creams. I went for the BRAT - bacon, rocket, avocado and tomato - on sourdough. It was served with a delicious side salad with a sprinkle of healthy seeds, really tasty. The sandwiches are reasonably priced and you can pay on card if needs be. There are a few toys inside to keep the little ones entertained, and on sunny days there is lots of outside seating with many more toys, which is a fabulous idea. The inside is actually quite small but I imagine they make their money on warm and sunny days. On top of all this, the lady that runs the cafe really interacted with the children, taking my little one behind the counter when he tried to run in to the kitchen and entertaining him while I finished my lunch. With the…read moreamount of Yummy Mummies in Brighton and Hove, it's a wonder that places like this aren't popping up all over the place. Basically, it's a cafe with a soft play area for the smalls in the corner. Kids get to play, mum gets to drink coffee...Unless your little one is slightly too small for the the stairs and you have to keep giving him a lift up - oh well, give it another couple of months!! The soft play area is clean which is a bonus, but perhaps more toys would go down well as I could imagine it would get quite hectic if the cafe is busy, with the smaller ones not getting much of a look in. However, when we popped in on a Sunday it was really quiet and my little one had a great time. There are changing facilities and plenty of highchairs which is always useful. They do a selection of hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, pastries, and pasta pots, plus a selection of snacks. I would like to see them expand the menu to include for fresh and healthy choices to the kiddies, maybe this is something they will do in the future. Today I tried the chocolate brownie which was delicious but not suitable for my 15 month old. They also hire out the space for private parties which may come in useful in the future.

Probably off most people's radar due to its less than central location, it's a true hidden gem. What makes its so special you ask? - well, the staff for one. The girls that greet us treat us like old friends every time we come here, and we have a good old gossip as if in deed we were. We are never made to feel like we are wasting space if our drinks have long since been finished and we haven't ordered another. The seating is comfy and well spaced out, and the decor is eclectic - old record sleeves adorn the walls, there is a wooded rocking horse that greets you as you walk through the door and there is numerous other memorabilia from around the world. The music too is fascinating, being worldly, soulful, and most importantly being played at a volume that does not prevent you reading or talking. This coffee house seems to appeal to a wide range of people from grubby workman, to older couples, to yummy mummy's - the children's room at the back scattered with toys is a great place to bring the little ones. The drinks here are also great - my boyfriend swears by the new gold blend coffee, praise indeed from a Brazilian! And I'm slowly working my way through the different flavours of chai latte, my current favourite being the spiced. They do a good range of sandwiches, paninis and bagels here as a very decent price, as well as homemade cakes, biscuits and other treats. Its not big at all 3 tables and enough chairs to seat around 6-8 people! But its really is lovely, amazing staff and service! Great sandwiches and fry ups! They even do veggie options for those who are vegetarian. For such a small little cafe/sandwich shop they offer a nice variety of foods on their menu, jacket potatoes,sandwiches,fry ups, salads and so on! They use good produce and are very willing to cook things your way or substitute things from the menu as its all cooked on the premises! They even do local delivery to businesses in the area for lunch!
