I have been going here for 5 years, and I can honestly say I do not trust anyone else to give me an eyebrow wax and an awesome pedicure. As of late, they removed the OPI gel manicure, which was a disappointment but the alternative gel product they use does come in more colors and seems to last just as long. The pedicure chairs could use a bit of a makeover they are 5 years old and show signs of wear. But they do work and they do offer an amazing regular pedicure that comes with hot stones. Worst Manicure and Worst Attitude "I am a physician in the Clifton area, I had a longer lunch then expected and decided to go for a long overdue manicure. A woman by the name of Debbie was assigned to me, after she filed my nails and fake cut my cuticles, I told her I wanted her to really cut my cuticles, she told me it's not good to cut the cuticles they will grow worse. When I pointed out the areas she missed or never touched, she said my hands are dry and they will go away with the lotion. After I was done I went to the front desk man and told him how unhappy I was with the manicure his response was, "ok" and since I already paid before the final coat they didn't really care if I was satisfied or not! Let me just say that I really only come here to get my eyebrows and upper lip waxed. This is just my go to waxing spot, close to home, close to the dollar store, Dunkin Donuts, I can make many uses of my trip to Sytretowne. I think that the price is decent, $8 for eyebrows and $8 for upper lip. Also, if you pay by cash, they will give you a percentage of cash back. I got $0.75 cents during my trip (sorry I am terrible at math). The staff is usually happy, friendly and always smiling. I hate to give such a low rating but this place is all glitter no glam. I came in with my husband and daughter for pedicures. They entered before I did and told the non smiling not friendly receptionist there would be 3 of us for pedicures. I stopped at the D&D next door and when I walked in my husband and daughter were getting worked on but the receptionist told me it would be a half hour wait. My husband told me to let her know I'm with them because he has told her there were 3 of us. She says it's still half an hour. Then she sits someone else that came in after we did to get a pedicure and when I asked her why wasn't I next she said I told you 30 minutes it doesn't matter when your family came in your time starts when you walk in!! So of course I was pissed off and she definitely noticed. She then said when someone finishes if they want to skip their lunchtime I might get worked on sooner. The women who did my pedicure was sweet and I asked her if she was ok postponing her lunch and she said yes because she wasn't really hungry yet. She was the nicest thing in this place. She did a good job and did it with a smile on her face. Thanks to Mickie I was done only a few minutes after my family and I was happy with her but not happy with how the salon is run. The receptionist kept looking over us as if to see if she was hurrying up enough and not once did she smile or thank anybody for the business. Went there for a manicure and pedicure. Place itself is pretty nice, but wouldn't classify it as upscale. Felt like more of a factory than salon, but it wasn't bad. Had one person do the pedicure and different person do manicure. Pedicure was very good and relaxing. They do a few extras like hot stones and paraffin wax which was nice. Manicure was nothing to write home about. I'm a dude and even I noticed my nails came out uneven looking. Paid like $50 for both, which is a bit high in my opinion for a guy. I used to regularly visit this place pre-pandemic and I loved it. My most recent visit was in April of 2021 because I was finally vaccinated and I must say that the service and staff has changed quite a bit. I went in for a pedicure and a color gel manicure. They had one of the "pedicure girls" do my manicure and it was a nightmare. She cut me really bad and my finger would just not stop bleeding and when I asked for a band-aid after the bleeding didn't stop she was reluctant to get one for me for some reason. That REALLY pissed me off. I'm talking about probably 10 minutes or more had passed and I was still bleeding. Anyway, I probably won't ever go back again because I don't trust this place to appoint me with a proper manicurist, which they used to have. I called to make another appointment and specifically said I do not want a pedicure girl doing my hands and they pretended that they didn't understand me. The girl's reply was "so you want different girl from last time?" I know she understood what I was asking, but she was playing stupid. Anyone who gets their nails done in the Northern NJ area knows who does feet and who does hands. Plus the pedicure girls in this salon wear a different color smock/top. The manicure girls wear black and the pedicure girls wear beige in this particular salon. My advice, don't let a pedicure girl with the name Maria work on you. So walking into Largo house I was excited to see how clean the salon actually was. Despite the reviews on here. Though when I picked out my color for a gel mani it all changed. The girl who was going to be doing my nails was reusing the nail tools without sterilizing them...EW! When asked to get clean tools she told me they didn't have any. I am very surprised by the negative reviews here as I have been coming here for over a year and have never had one bad or half-bad experience here. They do go by appointment which is actually a super plus when you are regular. You don't have to worry about being bumped because someone walked in before you. When it's slower walk-ins are acceptable. This is one of the cleanest salons I have been to. All the pedicure tools are individually wrapped and sealed and they open then up right in front of you. Even the sink for your feet is lined in plastic. They use gloves to do the dirty work on your feet and when they are done remove them for a great massage that includes hot stones. I recommend Suzy because she literally gives the best pedicure I have ever had! I regularly get gel fill-ins with Sara who is timely and listens when I tell her how I want my nails. The gel fill-in with gel polish is a little pricey but my nails look amazing and shiny for up to 3 weeks. I have not gotten any massage or wax services but I would definitely try it if I did based on how happy I have been with the other services. I blew into town for an event and wanted to get a manicure and asked if I could have a neck and shoulder massage while I was getting the manicure because I didn't have much time. They totally accomodated my request and the gal that massaged my shoulders did such an amazing job, I asked if the massage could continue while my nails were drying and it was the best way to dry your nails! This place used to be great; but after my most recent experience, I'm not so sure anymore. They must give the techs a bonus for fastest manicurist the way my tech flew through my mani. She left polish smudged all over my fingers. When I asked her to clean it she did a half-assed job ... And then completely smudged the nail. She then proceeded to try to cover the smudge with more polish, telling me it wouldn't be noticeable once she put on top coat! Um, yes it will be. I told her I preferred the nail to be completely repolished, and she had the audacity to act annoyed! Not a single apology by the way. I hate to give a negative review, but this needs to be done. While the place is very clean and looks great, I am just not happy with their service. I have gone a few times for pedicures here. Their massage is great and I love how clean it is, HOWEVER time and time again I am not satisfied. I tried one more time and this was just icing on the cake. My toe nails are crooked and there is clear nail polish all around my nail on the skin and by my cuticles. When I asked them to fix it, it is clear the woman (who did not do my pedicure) saw what I was talking about. She tried to clean it up around the edges which she did, but I know that in order to fix what was done, you simply had to repaint my nails. They were busy at this point and she told me to come back any time and she would fix it. That didn't help me at that moment. I have been coming here regularly for the last 4 years to have my eyebrows waxed & have no complaints about that. The process is (relatively) painless and I am always pleased with the outcome. Since I was so happy I decided to get my gel manicure there last week. Bad decision. They charge $35 which is pretty normal, but my manicure that should've lasted me at least two weeks didn't even make it two days. All of the polish came off (without picking at it) in 48 hours. They use a different system then most salons, so I recommend NOT spending the money on color gel here. read more

I went here for years only because it was clean until I just switched to Nails by Martha in Clifton. The customer service at Largo House is appalling. After years of going there, I get ignored at the front desk, show up after I make a reservation to be ignored. I called ahead to book a manicure and pedicure and I showed up to have the manager tell me that they could not take me today. She gave me no reasoning. They let people sit in accordance to how much they are spending each day. Overall horrible customer service and the manager is nasty to customers who have been going there for years and keeping them employed. read more

Largo House is aesthetically pleasing but don't let it fool you. I have received two gels and one regular manicure here and I'm honestly not sure why I go back. Not again. If you don't have an appointment be prepared to wait a while. The techs do a bit of filing, cut you with the cuticle remover, slap the polish on, and are done. No massage, barely any lotion, no pampering, or even attention, at all for the $35 plus tip you'll be dropping. Sure the nails are alright, but could really be done anywhere. read more

Their spa pedicures is relaxing and comparably priced to other establishments. Their basic pedicure beats the spa pedicure at other nail salons. I am picky regarding my manicures and pedicures. I encountered a terrible experience. I went to get a manicure, gel polish and also had gel polish on my toes. I wanted to change back to regular polish on my toes. The owner told me they don't do that! My response was, you do gel polish on finger nails and have the same material to remove on hands why not on toes? We are too busy for that! Who yells that to a paying customer? I got my nails done anyway, which I'm sorry I gave them my business. They charged me $45 for a gel polish manicure which is pretty pricey compared to other salons in the area. I looked at the prices and the cheapest pedicure started at $40 up to $65, plus $5 extra for french. When I went to pay the owner wouldn't even check me out. I waited for her and told her exactly how I felt. She said, that I don't understand and that I keep making her repeat herself! I really felt belittled by her. Long story short, I went to another nail salon to get a pedicure the same day. They also did not do gel polish on toes either. I was charged $5.00 extra to remove the gel from my toes and got a regular pedicure polish. They gave me no problems and made no issues about it. I knew it could be done. Largo House/Spa didn't want to do it, but to lie to my face and say it can't be done or they are too busy is an insult! read more

I have been consistently dissatisfied with the quality of the work and the way they treat customers. Of the things I have experienced here the worst was when they polished over my nails onto my fingers. I went with couple of my girl friends for a girl's night out. We knew they were near closing but they decided to fit us 3 girls into their schedule. Usually, when I come in later when near closing, the nail artists hurry and mess up. However, they did our full mani-pedi's without rushing and came out great! It's rare to see owners welcoming each customer but the owner came out and asked if the service was okay. Came here for a mani/pedi with a friend. We didn't have appointments and they were able to accommodate us, which was nice. The pedicure was average but the manicure was awful. Today I walked into the salon and asked to have my old gel manicure removed and just have a regular manicure. The woman at the front desk sat me down and got to work on soaking off the gel. As she was doing that, I noticed that the reusable plastic clamps she used to keep the acetone-soaked cotton balls on my nails didn't look clean (there were even old pieces of cotton stuck in them). Half way through putting them on my nails, she ran off to answer the phone at the front desk. Some other employee finished the job for her. Then a third person (Cindy, based on her esthetician badge) came in to remove the gels. I've got to tell you--Cindy is the most unprofessional nail artist I've ever had to deal with. She popped right on to the chair in front of me with a cookie in her mouth, just munching away. She giggled and pretended she was embarrassed and started making jokes with her coworker. At that moment, my patience was running thin. After she was done eating, she tried to scrape off the gels but apparently the previous two who soaked my nails didn't do a good job, so she had to re-soak them. After that, she scraped off the rest of the gel and then pointed to a wall of nail polish colors. After the base, color and top coat, she picked up my purse and directed me to the nail station without saying much of anything. While I was drying my nails, I got a disappointing and awkward shoulder massage. I really blame myself for not noticing right away that there was some nail polish smudged to the side of my nail, one nail was filed crookedly and apparently the polish that she used was thinned out because I could see the whites at the bottom of my nails. I don't think I've ever had such a bad experience at a nail salon, or at least not bad enough to inspire me to write a negative review. I think the fact that the salon was designed to look like some high-end spa is what attracts people there. I doubt there are too many regulars, at least not for Cindy anyway. I'm here now for a pedicure, and all 4 chairs around me, including the one I'm in, look almost new. No cobwebs, and someone is sweeping the nice wood floors as I type.
