This place gets 3 stars because it's a hit or miss. The pictures below are results of great work, however my most recent time here which was 2 days ago, I had to go back because my gel polish completely came off after just 1 week & they still wanted to charge me full price to re do them. I am satisfied with the result which is the red image, however I will be looking for another location that is consistently worth it. This place isn't. The employees that work on manicures are usually nice but the girl I've had for my pedicure the past 2 times looked miserable. Up to you if you want to take a chance and visit. I went in for a gel x nail manicure and a gel pedicure with a acrylic tip since they recommended it, for 125$ btw. Came out severely disappointed. The manicure was chunky and lumpy I could've done this at home not the mention the pedicure lady getting my color wrong after I showed her. ( she blamed me even though ) the gelx hurts a lot and it was expected but it literally burned so bad I was teary eyed at the end the women up front gave me a coupon obviously because she did my nails completely wrong. I have been on the hunt for a good nail salon since i moved here and i think i finally found the place! i walked in and i noticed i wasn't hit with that strong nail salon smell. it smelt clean and looked clean! it almost looks like they were going to be expensive and my fill with french tip (extra $ for design) was $55! they sat me immediately and started on my nails. I had Lily who did my nails and i plan on asking for her again. she did a full acrylic set in a little under an hour and would start conversation here and there and did exactly what i asked! length was perfect, the french tip was done beautifully and they're smooth and strong! very happy i found this place !!! read more

Only giving one star, because I am restricted from giving zero. I lived in Clifton for 25 years, but moved away a few years ago. I was visiting last weekend and planned to get my nails done at Plaza Nail&Spa because it's close to home and where my mother has been going. This was last Friday (July 7th) around 3:50pm-4:00pm, and I will preface they were busy which I could easily see from the parking lot. When I walked in, all the mani and pedi stations were occupied. When I approached the front desk, NOT ONE WORKER offered a greeting, or asked what service(s) I was seeking. When I was parking I saw another customer walk in and by the time I opened the door, she was already sitting down on the side picking out/reviewing colors. There were two nail techs closest to the door who glanced up, but went back to tending to their customers without a word. The nail in the coffin happened a few seconds later when the business phone rings (not even a foot from where I'm still standing). The worker who got up to answer it, never even made eye contact or acknowledged me. RUDE! Just took the call and looks down the whole time at what appeared to be a scheduling book. Unbelievably unkind and uninviting. This is all in a span of 3-4 minutes which is a long time not to be acknowledged when you enter any business. (Have you been to Walgreens? You can hardly get your foot across the entrance before they greet you). Disgusted by the unprofessional behavior, I walked out and drove over to Top Style Nails Spa (in the Clifton Promenade) instead. I was greeted IMMEDIATELY and professionally, and ultimately received the services I was seeking. I told my mother about it later on and she was very upset I was treated this way, as she has been going here for months. She was planning to address the matter in person the same day, but I convinced her to just let me leave a review. She is so upset that she will not ever go back to this salon. It's ok to be busy, it's never ok to be rude or unfriendly. I hope they do better in the future to avoid losing business! read more

I found out about this place through Groupon. I meeded a quick gel manicure for this week and I was surprised with this place. I usually am afraid of places when I dont see sterilizers or a clean environment but this place is great! I cant tell you the name of the lady who served me but I will definitely come back to her. At the end of my appointment the lady that serviced me gave me a coupon for pedi and gel mani for 30-35$ which will definitely have me coming back! Also, I didnt have to pay to have my previous gel removed! I know a few places that do. I have to update my review as of 7 days afterwards. My nails chipped! I bought the $35 groupon for a mani and pedi here. I have to say the beginning of my experience was horrible here. I made an appointment for 5pm and they didnt take me until close to 6pm. This really angered me. If you cannot hold an appointment, just say walk ins only. Also, they did not take people in the order that they came. It was really disappointing. I know they were super busy but they need to figure out a way to make it work. Again, they should not make appointments. overall, my gel mani and pedi were ok. I hate to give bad reviews and I wish I had read the other reviews before I began to use this salon. Excellent job done the first time and consistently worse each time after that. Gel manicures last about 3 days and then they begin to chip. I brought this to the attention of the male manager when I was in last. He offered a " credit". I said I wanted the job done professionally. The tech said she would add another base. Sloppy work done by older techs. I think they omit parts of the procedure to get customers in sooner. As I was strolling through Groupon, I came across this pretty good deal that was near my house and I was in need for a gel manicure and regular pedi...badly so I decided to treat myself. However normally I don't buy groupons when it comes to getting my nails done because I had a bad experience before and you never know what kind of service to expect at some nail salons. The lady on the phone had a heavy accent but very friendly and I was able to get the date and time I was hoping for. A day later I was free and decided to call to see if I could push my appointment sooner and they told me to just come in.. The salon has a lot of parking available since its located in a small plaza that has other businesses. The inside it's pretty spacious and clean. As I walked in I was taken care of right away after I picked my color. Sandra, who was the young lady who did my pedicure did an amazing & very thorough job. I was extremely happy after she did my pedicure then as I was taken to have my gel manicure done this asian women who's chair is right behind the front desk counter began to do my nails. The whole time she was more focused on greeting whoever came in and left the salon, not sure if it was the owner. What really made me upset was that as she cleaned and began to paint my nails I expressed that I didn't like to have extra polish outside of my nails ( who does?) because since its gel it will dry and eventually mess the color if I try to remove it plus it will look like a sloppy job. Which of course she just kept dismissing me .. I probably corrected her about 3 times.. it was really annoying and unnecessary. Turns out I overheard this place has been here for a while and was under new management. Which is why the groupon was put to get the word out but if this is the kind of service they will be implementing, I definitely won't be coming back. Although when I was showing my groupon & getting ready to leave, I & everyone that bought the groupon were given a certificate for the same offer so next visit instead of buying it through groupon they would charge us the same price. The owner Lydia & Staff are A+!! Always a warm welcome when arriving. Extremely clean!! They use tub liners for pedicures A+!!! If you come during peak hours you may have to wait a bit. However there are places next door to grab a coffee, sandwich etc so the time passes quickly. Hundreds of colors to choose from regular & gel manicure. All nail technicians are very good!! Thorough and you do not feel rushed. They have a manicure pedicure special that runs Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. I cannot say enough positive things about this salon. This was my first time here. I was looking for a new nail salon since my usual place wasn't doing a good job like they used to. I walked in & there was only 2 customers so I figured I wouldn't be rushed. I had to ask the lady doing my pedi to add cold water bc the water was extremely hot (plus it was an 80+day). I noticed the 2 customers around me getting pedis got a leg & foot massage w the gel, I didn't. The massage w lotion was subpar, didn't feel good nor did it last long then 30 seconds. My toe nails are uneven & the polish also looks uneven. For my mani, I had to wait for about 15 minutes for someone to come over. A customer who walked in while I was waiting for my mani, got taken before me. I asked the lady to cut my nails & she said "no, nails already short". She would paint 2-3 nails on one hand then have me put my hand under the lights & go paint 2 nails on the other hand. Why not paint all the nails on one hand before switching to the other hand?? She globbed the gel top coat on my nails & when I put my hands under the lights, my nails felt like they were on fire! She had me put hands under the lights about 4 times. She put lotion on my hands, hands go under the lights. She sprayed my hands, hands go under the lights. The polish is also uneven, some sides are thicker then others (noticeable), I have top coat cured around my fingers & under my nails. While the price was good, $40, I don't see myself coming back. It wasn't a relaxing experience & I just felt rushed. 2 stars bc I do have to say the nice was very clean. read more

Have been here a few times and each time has been a wonderful experience. Gel manicure lasts me longer than any other place I've tried. Pedicure is perfect. Very clean, liners in tubs (A must for me) and paraffin on the heels is a nice touch at the end of pedicure. I don't live in the area and randomly came across this place. I came in to get a gel fill! I absolutely loved my nails & the experience was great but then one broke in less than 24 hours. I came in to get them fixed. The person who fixed my nails were extremely rude when I tried to tell her what happened. She tried to humiliate me yelling at me as if I am a child and when I tried to speak with the owner he acted like he didn't care at all. It's unfortunate that things happened this way because I will never come back and spend my money with such belittling people. & I have been getting gel for years. I came to get a mani and pedi here and finished around 7:15 and wanted 5 minutes to dry my nails- which to me seemed reasonable because I should have been able to stay till 7:30 if I wanted to. But NO. A Lady came over to me saying they close at 7:30, mind you it was 7:15. I asked for 5 minutes to dry my nails and she told me NO. Then another came over with quick dry spray and grabbed my hand out from under the drying fan. Horrible experience! I only went to get my tips removed. Before I sat down, I asked the price to make sure it was reasonable. The lady told me $10 and I proceeded to sit down. I had to wait 1 and a half hour before I was called. When I was called, I sat on the chair for another 20 minutes waiting for someone to come. When the guy came, he started removing the color (I thought that was the process). Then he asks me which color I want. I had to remind them AGAIN that I was only getting my tips removed. I then had to wait another 10 minutes before another lady came to finish the job. The lady was very unfriendly and did not care if she was hurting me. While I was waiting, I saw a lot of other angry customers. One girl had an appointment at 4. But when she came, they told her to come back 40 minutes later. She was upset and asked what was the point of the scheduled appointment. When she came back 40 minutes later, they made her wait another 10 minutes. Also, another lady had a Groupon for $35 but they charged her $50 because they "had" to do some things that was not listed in the Groupon. I went in for a soak off and regular manicure. Lady just started drilling and clipping off my acrylics very harshly and when i asked her to use acetone for a soak off she said that doesnt work! Mind you to my left there was another lady getting her acrylics soaked off? Make it make sense. Also ended up in bruising and damaging my nail which she had to glue. When i went to pay with my card she was so quick to say "tip in cash" when I haven't even passed her my card, and so i gave her a small tip (but well deserved due to her bad service) and she just took it and left without a word. I went there a few weeks ago for Mani-pedi. Overall experience was good. They are really nice but the lady in front was kinda extra, making wear comment on my husband (lol). On her Chinese gesture she told me he was fine. Lol, ma'am I know already. Lol! My pedicure was done by a Hispanic girl who took her time. I keep my feet really nice so she didn't have to do extra work. About my manicure was also really decent and nail polish lasted around 5-6 which is great. She took her time as was very thorough. My gel manicure was done by Mia. She did a good job too! My nail chipped one day after because I was rough handling some material. I have come to this place for almost 3 years now, and I am never going back there again. I usually don't pay too much mind to the negative reviews of places on Yelp when the overall rating is 3 or 4 stars. So, if you're like me, please don't skip over this review. I genuinely just made an account so I can explain my experience. I've been getting frustrated with Nail Plaza for the past year, as they say they are under "new management". It's all the same people, which is the main issue. There are maybe one or two nail technicians that care about what they are doing and do their best. That's it. Everybody else is just going through the motions, barely even looking at what they are doing. It's possibly the worst service I've ever received. (At least they consistently suck.) The gel manicure I received today (WHICH IS THREE LAYERS?? WHY?) was the WORST nail salon experience I have ever had. The clear coat that is used at the beginning and end to set the gel is literally all over my fingers. I told the technician to file it off, and she didn't understand. She smudged the color all over my hands. I sat in the car picking off the dried polish (clear and color) for an hour. They are all distracted all the time, always on the phone, or screaming at each other. I think she was plucking at my cuticles just for show, because it all looks like a jagged mess right now. She was rushing to get me out of the chair, I paid $40 for this garbage!! If you're going to ignore my review, at least take this one warning. Please don't go to any of the older looking ladies, they are the worst ones! Also, the massages hurt so much. I'm genuinely so disappointed. read more
