The store is clean and well organized. The staff is friendly, helpful, and professional.

For what I needed this place was right on time... so I thought. Luckily, I came into town already stocked, I needed a few items. My husband request was fulfilled, me, the tequila - bummer. Not sold here. Even though I am giving this place four stars, this store does not sell a selection of the airplane bottles... what!! I was a bit bummed by this. But this store does sell all the fixings needed to accompany your adult beverage. Juice, snacks etc. There is an officer inside, so don't come to play. On the day of a Sunday Washington game, this place was busy, but the cashier quickly moved the line. Plenty of parking, but be careful pulling up curbside, patrols are definitely out. You may want to bring your own beverages if visitng out of town or go to a more convenient store. Many wanted items are not sold here. Don't be disappointed like me. The manager of this store should consider an anger management class. Moreover, this store should be flagged and given a time out from the community. The business has clearly forgotten its Mission statement and its commitment to the community. When business owners and managers talk to customers with disrespect and contempt, it may be time for them to find another line of work. As a business professor and venture capitalist, I would suggest this business review their culture and make some much needed changes to their business model (B2C), Business to Customer. You can't continue to treat customers as if they are low life individuals. The community that you serve is responsible for your success, therefore, this store will have to do a better job. The Customer service was Great I'm huge on customer service and acknowledgement in which I was greeted immediately by a Guy/Manager with a low cut, maybe Asian/Vietnamese decent ‍ with printed shirt. the guy/manager came from behind the counter to help people. He assured me if I need anything or help please do not hesitate to call him for assistance. I was trying to find this whiskey/wine blend I saw in va and wanted to treat myself, I finally asked for help and tho he was busy with other ppl he helped which I appreciated I found all the drinks I needed for Brunch and Steak & potatoes New Year's Dinner. Owner made my girlfriend wait outside the store during a rainstorm. They seem to be biased against younger folks. I appreciated their friendly demeanor, when I first moved to MD. This liquor store has to be the worse for customer kindness. They have the worse if you don't like it go somewhere else attitude. I remember a few years ago people started a petition to boycott this business because of costumer harassment. I thought at one time they were selling and serving food. They were cooking meals on a grill outside the store. Most of the time the employees and their police officer security are eating meals in their make shift dining area in front of the store. Go some place else not there. I went into the store around 12:15 to play my midday numbers. There was a man in there writing down his numbers. I told this guy in a blue shirt that I wanted to play 1 number, he started to play and stopped to play this persons number (the person had written them down on paper). I said can you play my 1 number, sir, no response from him. The person said go ahead and play her number since it was almost 12:25 and midday would be over. He just ignored me and kept playing the persons numbers. Me and the person looked at each other and shook our heads. The guy then pointed to a signed that states all numbers must be written Dow, that's fine but why were you going to play it and then just stop playing my 1 number. He then pushed my money back to me pointed to the sign, I said I can read and left the store. He came out and videoed my car and said I am putting this on face book. I went back into the store and videoed him and said this is going on Facebook and yelp. He put up his phone to try and hide his face. The store was empty and quiet when I went in, please do I not go in this store, do not give them your business, racist yesssssss the guy in the blue shirt, he is not hard to miss. The guy at the counter asked for my id and then preceded to ask my a bunch of unnecessary questions which I didn't answer. As soon as i finished up, he rung up my friend but didnt ask her for her id. I asked him why he only asked me and he came up with this bogus answer. Just as i told my friend to not buy the liquor he had already swiped her card. As i left, i called my mom and she told me to never shop there because of the encounter her and my uncle had. Apparently theyd come there months before and my uncle asked why there were no black employees there. The guy told my uncle he doesnt hire blacks because they "cant be trusted" and "they steal". However after seeing video on the news where the employees physically detained a patron (a patron, someone putting money in the store) and hearing countless personal stories of poor treatment and racists comments by the owner, I will no longer shop here. This store has absolutely horrible service! A couple of weeks ago my wife and son went in there to get a bottle of wine. In check out the manager of the store started getting very rude with her because she was disorganized at the counter and did not have her payment and ID promptly ready. He began to be rate her so she moved over to the next register where she was continually harassed by the first cashier (manager). And due to the treatment she was receiving she turned around to leave the store and the manager Hollered after her you "F'ing black bit**! We don't need your business anyway!" My wife spun around, knocking over a stand and in disbelief screamed are you calling me that?! There were some words exchanged obviously. The two employees then decided to attempt physically assaulting my wife, until a nice young man who witnessed the entire thing stepped in. He pushed the two men back away from her and assisted her out the door, where they proceeded to follow and harass her. Surrounding her car and yelling obscenities. She forced her way past them and left the parking lot. Only to be picked up on a warrant today because the manager accused her of assault with her vehicle and stated that "she hit his hand" pulling out. These are horrible people and should not get anyone's business! Multiple customers came out of the store, not necessarily shocked, stating that they have seen these things happen before. Today when I went there and asked to speak to the owner, I was turned away abruptly and rudely. Even then, customers coming out of the store stopped to chime in on their experiences. read more

I only went to this liquor because my favorite liquor store in Woodmore was sold out of a brand I was looking for so this liquor was the last resort. It will forever stay a last resort because I went in today looking for a specific brand of moscato & wine. It was really slow when I arrived so I figured this would be quick. I chose two stars because the security guard was the closet at being somewhat helpful. As he was trying to get me to go on a date with him he asked what bottle I was looking for and he yelled to the cashier but didn't really get a clear answer but I assumed the answer was no. I also noticed a White lady came in one after me & they greeted her from the register as soon as she walked in. A minute later a Black guy walks in with no greeting. I never received one either so that's why I paid attention but that could've been a coincidence but I won't be back to find out regardless. The gentleman working the register I couldn't tell if he was Asian or Latino and a second person working whom I couldn't see, just hear. My friend called the liquor store after I left just to ask about the wine to make sure and it sounded like a Black guy answered whom was nice over the phone. I have lived in the area for 2 1/2 years. I absolutely love this place. Not only do the employees acknowledge you when you enter but the police officer does as well. This store has an average selection of liquor and wine. The prices aren't bad. The best thing about this place is that they always have 2-4 people working the counter/register. All the workers are working ensuring that you are served very quickly. My boyfriend and I had the same exact experience as the young man in the trending assault video with the workers of Largo Liquors back in October 2016. We were humiliated, denied service, and my boyfriend was attacked by 3 of their workers, all while being held against our will locked inside of the store. My boyfriend's clothing was torn, and he also received a big gash on his shoulder from the scuffle which also lead to a large emergency room bill. The police were called to the seen, and of course they sided with the store owners. There was a police report recorded, and an attempt to file charges, however, no justice was found. read more

If I could give this liquor store a negative zero rating, I would. This was my neighborhood liquor store for about 6 years when I lived in Largo. Every time I went in there I experienced dismissive behavior, rude service and the owner and staff are very short and rude to customers. I have been questioned about my ID and also told by them that I needed to "make up my mind, b/c I was wasting their time" after I saw a bottle of champagne that I wanted instead of the brand I spotted before getting to the register. I have seen them be blatantly rude to young customers like myself, and older customers, they clearly have no respect for the community in which they serve and whenever you encounter them, they become combative, loud, and tell you to get out of their store. After my first couple incidents with them, I said no more and stopped going there. I will drive outside of my neighborhood before I support them. Now that I have seen the recent video of them refusing service to that customer then attacking him, all while being disrespectful to other customers on the same video, I think all of their surveillance footage should be reviewed to see their discriminatory practices and the county should absolutely shut them down. read more

There are nearly 6,000 signatures on a petition to close this store and it's not hard to understand why. I shopped here on and off for years... as I grew up in the neighborhood. The customer service has always been average to poor. The owner is not personable or friendly at all, nor are the cops for hire. On days where I am simply shopping in the shopping center I have seen the owner outside grilling or smoking cigarettes, and in the Shoppers Food Warehouse with his 9mm clearly visible on his waistband, all of which seem to be inappropriate in varying degrees. Once i saw the video of the young man being assaulted and held in the store last summer and saw subsequent videos and read accounts of the owner's inappropriate behavior in other situations, I can say I was appalled but not surprised. This man seems to have a penchant for violence and some kind of complex regarding race and class. It is only a matter of time before something terrible happens here. From what I understand, he was forced out of Cox's liquor store in Landover for this same type of behavior. When is enough, enough? Please don't shop here and continue to support this behavior. Kettering Liquors, Watkins Park Liquors and Woodmore Wine and Spirits are all less than 5 minutes away. We deserve better. read more

Employees are good people but manager is a jerk. I have seen him talk to customers in a very disrespectful manner . I've spoken to other people about this and they heard and seen the same thing. I notice he seem irritated when serving me several times. I came into buy lottery tickets and ask for my tickets with no hesitation. He said, "You need to write down what you want when you make your mind up. " So I repeated my order to him again, he then tossed a piece a paper and pencil at me and walked away. He is one the worst managers I've seen. I held my tongue and left. Lottery tickets and liquor(gambling and drinking) is not worth me losing my dignity over. No customer skills. Cares nothing for customers' satisfaction. Won't spend my money there. Customers are predominately black but he is not.
