So disappointed to write this but I agree with all other comments about how rude and awful the…read moremanager/staff is at this store. We will NEVER shop there again. My mom and her friend just went out on what was supposed to be one of my mom's first real pleasant outings in a while because my mom has had cancer and intense chemo. So they went to Santa Ynez. They purchased several items and my mom, who is 90, had clearly lost all her hair, looks very weak, pointed out to the woman behind the counter that she wanted to purchase an 8$ hand cream she was carrying around and was going to leave it at the counter. The woman ignored her so my mom kept shopping and carried it with her. At one point, my mom was looking at something so she put the hand cream in her purse so that she could use both hands. She and her friend bought many items INCLUDING the $8 hand cream. A week later, my mom brought me back to the store to get something she had been thinking about wanting to purchase. As soon as we walked into the store, the woman charged over to my mom and started berating her about putting the hand cream in her purse the week before. She threatened my mom that she was either going to ban her from the store or she would keep both of our purses as we shopped. We were shocked. My mom said calmly "I showed you the hand cream and told you I wanted to purchase it. And I paid for the hand cream along with the other items. Do you not remember that?" The woman kept berating my mom and said "but you put it in your purse! Who does that?" I said "Someone who is 90, has cancer, just had chemo, is weak and wants to use both hands to look at something and then takes the item out of her purse to purchase it and the other things she purchased!!! "... This didn't stop the woman's tirade. My mom gently said "do you honestly believe that at the end of the year, I would care about $8? Does that sound reasonable to you?" And the woman said " the conversation is over" and followed us around the store - literally - just followed us around the store. It was awful. My mom and I left, shaking. We have never been treated like that my anyone ever in a store. Save yourself from being treated like this. No business deserves customers who treats them like this.

This time I ended up buying a dish towel that's gorgeous, a small cosmetic, tote bag, and a cute card. They have lots of unique cards and gifts, such as baby gifts, candles, etc.. Most of the time they are extremely helpful but unfortunately there was only one person in the store at this time.

It beckoned me to enter with the promise of treasures beyond their doors. It is a beautifully organized and decorated store. Curated items were professionally displayed. There was a lady behind the counter but she avoided greeting me. I know this is a tourist town because the pricing was high. I do understand the mark up is needed to sustain the running of this business, etc. I will wait to return to Old Town Temecula where they sell the exact same items for much lower. It is a beautifully appointed store.

This is one of the stores we stopped in during our wanderings. It's beautifully displayed, with many different feature areas. From unique kitchen gadgets and accessories, to home accents of many different types, there's much to see and consider here. Full retail is in effect, and some of the items seem very pricey, which is the reason for a one star reduction. Still, I found it very enjoyable to browse their selections, enjoying the stylish displays. I did find several items to take home, plus picked up a couple small gifts. I particularly love a silicone spatula I bought here, which has an ergonomic design that makes it comfortable to use. I don't know how they'll manage reopening / whether they offer buy online and pickup with minimal contact. I hope that they'll be able to survive the Coronavirus situation!

When the kids…read morewere little years back, the original seat fabric got all stained and nasty with milk, etc. We went to an undisclosed interior design place and replaced the fabric with marine grade vinyl and thick padding. The result was horrendous. The vinyl was tucked, unprofessionally with big seams/creases at the corners, like a do it yourself job. We didn't care at the time - as long as it held up for the next 10 years, we were good. Come 2020 and that vinyl is getting annoying. Our butts stick to them, the chairs noticeably look bad relative to the rest of our furnishing, and most importantly, the kids aren't leaving have half their food on the seats. Santa Barbara Design Center has been here for a while and I stopped in randomly on the way to Home Improvement. I was introduced to Michael, a knowledgeable and personable chap. I showed him an online picture of the original chair, and that I wanted to restore the seat to its original, sleek, sculptural and refined splendor. He said no problem, provided a couple of premium quality fabric books, and we were on our way. We picked out the fabric and brought the chairs in. Michael commented "my god, who did this work?" 50% down and ten days later, chairs were done, with a message "come down and make sure you are happy." My wife and I looked, were pleased - Michael responded with "here's something that bothers me, I want you to see..." He flipped the chair over and on the bottom, the seat fabric was stapled just outside of the underside frame. You wouldn't see it normally, but from a distance or looking down from the side, you might. Immediately we thought the same thing, yeah, that's not ideal. He said it shouldn't be done like this, let me redo it for you, no charge. His upholsterer redid it, and boy those 8 chairs look great, almost better than the original! The seats came out sleek and wonderfully curved over the underlying pad. The fabric is comfortable, soft and elegant - couldn't be happier. The interior of SBDC fills a warehouse space and contains just about everything; furniture, rugs, lamps, etc. The staff were COVID compliant, and Michael was a dream to work with. He has an excellent eye for detail, is easy to work with, and is an honest broker; I wish we had more projects for him!
