Dear Photography students/professionals/amateurs, If you…read moreare going to Sedona or a greatly photogenic place at all and you are NOT doing a photography tour/workshop, you are a damned fool!!!! Because I was one - I thought I could get my pro level photos battling with the tourists for that "one shot" of the Cathedral Rock...well you know what? Cathedral Rock is a big yawn!!! You want a LOCAL source who is also a true professional. Someone like Dave. Who began taking pro photos in the days of film, and understands light and photography like no other. Oh he won't tell you what the "right" way is - no no!!! But better: Dave will show you how to discover what YOUR style is, in a small, personalized workshop where he covers everything from low light, harsh light, feathery water, rocks, macro, abstract, street photography, and even gear, photo hacks, Lightroom solutions, tripod set ups, what other little things to do/think about, and really --- he will even make you lunch if you're working with him for a full day. How can you ask for more??? Dave just bought a new SUV - and it is super clean and comfortable to take you to those little-known areas to shoot your photos. We went to Oak Creek past Sedona a little. Not being from there I would NEVER have known it was there. Dave even went so far as to hike down to the water's edge (no small feat!!!!!) and throw buckets of water at the creek rocks to give YOU the BEST photo!!!!! I personally so valued my time with Dave that I gave him a large tip - and I think you should too. It is one on one time, not like the other photo workshops in Sedona where you sit in a van with 10 other amateurs, the driver stops and points at the sight you should take a photo of, then you get back into the van. Is that what you really want? If so - don't go to Dave. Go to the half priced cheap tour where you get what you pay for!!!! Dave happens to do excellent workshops all around Phoenix, Scottsdale, as well as Yosemite and Olympia National Park in Oregon. I am looking forward to seeing him again for his Light painting workshop in Scottsdale soon. If you're serious about photography, go to Dave while you're in Sedona/Cottonwood/Jerome/Phoenix/Scottsdale/Flagstaff . Also, follow his instagram at journey.in.common for inspirational ideas on photography, and to see him at work. Dave is a wonderful human being, kind, courteous, and hilarious, as well as hands-on, not afraid to get dirty, let's pack all we can into our time together kind of guy. I've made a friend, and I'm so glad of it. Thank you Dave.

My wife and I recently vacationed in Sedona. It was a goal of ours to find a piece of art, a…read morecrystal, or some type of physical memory to cherish from our trip. We went to multiple galleries and shops and everything felt generic. Nothing captured Sedona how we experienced it, until we came upon The DeSerio Gallery. The gallery features the photography of Lou DeSerio (a student of Ansel Adam), as well as Lou's incredibly talented son, Adam. My wife and I were immediately struck by a beautiful night sky photograph by Adam. It perfectly captured how we viewed Sedona and we decided to purchase it. The piece was a bit too big and fragile to carry on the plane ride home, so we decided to have the gallery ship it to us. This was a super easy and straight forward process. Unfortunately, FedEx did not handle the photograph properly and the signed matte ended up with an indentation. All of this is to say how amazing DeSerio was in handling this issue. They were incredibly responsive, even after we left the gallery, and mailed us a new matted photo of the print. To say that this was above and beyond would be an understatement! This is a very special gallery that truly cares about their art, as well as their clientele. I highly recommend giving them a visit as they embody the beauty Sedona and the pieces are phenomenal. I'm so excited to have Adam's work framed inside my home, and I will think of The DeSerio family upon each viewing. Thank you!

I don't think this review box has enough space for all of the great things I'd like to say about…read moreour experience working with Bon but I'll try! We chose her to document our wedding in April 2026 and the process from first email to wedding day was so smooth. She heard our vision she followed all requests we had and she delivered x10! Meeting her in person was even better. She is the sweetest and her fun personality truly helped us just relax during our photos which in the end produced some beautiful natural shots! who you choose to work with during your wedding is so important because you're spending so much time with these people and we couldn't have spent 2 more days with Bon if we needed to! ;) shes an amazing person and we were so happy with the finished product, it was all the things we asked for AND MORE. If you've come across her In search of someone there's no need to keep looking. Thank you Bon for beautifully documenting our special day. -Yvonne & Mark Villalta

Bon reached out to me for a review. I was fair & honest stating I loved the end product of our…read morepictures but the customer service wasn't the best. Instead of looking at my review as feedback, she took offense, removed all of our photos online & blocked me. She then used Yelp as an opportunity to place blame on the client. There were moments where she seemed to be projecting her anxiety onto us which made it hard to take in the moment. She delivered images with random objects and people in the background which is pretty consistent with another brides review. If you're a couple who values the experience and or someone who values a Photographer with attention to detail keep this in mind. To address the comments made by the Business Owner, we were on time, we did not bring a crate for our dog as we made it clear that we wanted our dog in the photos. I did request to have a few shots taken on my personal camera but there was never a conversation about this accommodation being in lieu of detail shots. I made my bouquet from scratch and she opted not to use them in the photos because it didn't fit her "moody" aesthetic. Most of her attentiveness went to the groom. As another bride mentioned in her review, most Wedding Photographers understand the bride's experience is the priority and it seemed like most of her focus surrounded on doing what she pleased. Miscommunication could have been avoided if she were open to accepting consultations for "Elopements," but as she mentioned, she reserves consults for traditional weddings. In handing my camera over to her team, they misplaced my SD card so to accommodate the mishap her team was kind enough to hike the trail to relocate it. Unfortunately the SD card was never found but it was no big deal. I did describe my experience with the Officiant over at Earth Elopements as perfect but this was related to our ceremony & our positive experience working with Miss Patricia. Patricia helped plan our day & mentioned she knew of a few photographers which is how we found Bon. I'd like to take the time to acknowledge that her assistant Beacon did take the time to share some cool tricks with me & walked me through some hacks related to camera settings. Beacon even took the time to craft a fun video for us to post after the shoot which was a saving grace for the experience. Seperately, Bon did share some helpful tips with me regarding posing but that doesn't take away from my general experience of feeling lack of care for the customer. I felt ignored/disregarded as the bride which shown through as she couldn't remember my name despite me correcting her numerous times throughout the experience.
