absolutely do not go here.i sell silver coins to jewelry and pawn shops to see how honest they are and this shop completely failed. in fact,they are the worst one I've ever tested.I gave my girlfriend 3 peace dollars to sell as shops typically take advantage of women.well todays silver is at over 38 dollars and ounce and he offered her 45. in the last week the lowest offer was 65 dollars for identical coins.after she left I called and asked what they were paying for silver and I could tell that he had a feeling that i was calling because of that transaction and eventually told me to bring the coins in.so end result is this place will rip you off every chance they get.seller beware read more

Guy told me the day before hurricane Milton via Facebook Marketplace that he'd hold an item for me and I could get it after the storm passed. When I called a few days later asking if I could come get it after messaging him multiple times over multiple days, another customer told me they sold it and said "I don't know what to tell you, sorry." Safe to say I'll never be taking my business here again. Avoid this place. read more

Please avoid this particular location if you value ethics. Incredibly defensive and abrasive attitude when "negotiating". I asked what the lowest price on a guitar was which had frets lifting up due to poor care and this could be seen easily. The employee eyed the frets for all of 2 seconds and barked at me accusing me of making things up whilst attempting to insert some pseudo superiority in guitar playing over me. [Ive been building guitars for a great long while and playing them off tempo for even longer]. I asked the employee if he would be willing to look at what i was trying to show him as it was quite obvious [you could fit a credit card under these completely oxidized frets popping out of this dry fretboard]. He denied this attempt at reasonable conversation and proceeded to bark at me instead. This all took place 10 minutes after i gave them asking price for two fishing poles as i know nothing about fishing poles. It is a shame that a business would hire employees who would rather make an ad hominin argument than simply have a conversation about the lowest cost of an item due to functional damage. All in all i was accused of lying and barked at directly after a purchase. Please use reverb for selling your guitar instead and guiysr center for buying where the luthier who actually knows what he is talking about discounts the price of the item or repairs it. read more

The owner is the most miserable person I ever met. Constantly negative and complaining. Never has a smile or a good word. I was a very good customer for 3 years. Due to the hurricane and my job having long hours, I was late getting my very expensive Lap Top out of there. They used to call me and remind me when I needed to make a payment so as to not lose my item. This time, since the lap top is worth over $1,000 and I only borrowed $200, they chose to take my lap top and erase all my programs and files. This computer was used for work. I had to pay $350 to buy it back from them and after 16 hours, I still don't have it restored to its original condition. They made thousands of dollars off of me over the past 3 years. It's disgusting! I will never ever go there again. The owner should be shot and put out of his horrible misery. He yelled at me and told me that my lap top was his property and he can do what he wants with it. I am a paralegal and should sue them, but I don't have time for such pettiness right now while trying to recover from Hurricane Ian. read more

I am surprised this place is still in business. Picture it: fort myers 2004. I had just moved there and needed a little cash to get my son into daycare until I got my first paycheck. I took a necklace, a ring and a bracelet and put them in pawn. Three weeks later I went back, paid and picked up my jewelry. I should have checked it better but my 4 year old was all over the place and I was trying to get out of there before he broke something. I get home and my bracelet was not there. I went back and they acted like they gave me everything back. I begged them to look again but of course they couldn't find my bracelet. I was crying as I left because my grandmother had just passed away and she had left me that bracelet. I still think about it to this day and I am still sad over their dishonesty and lack of compassion. I know my bracelet was probably melted down years ago but I'll never forget their faces when I left crying. They were smiling. read more

I had been looking for an anniversary ring for a while, most too expensive. I stopped in at Larry's pawn on Cleveland Ave, Fort Myers. I found the ring I was looking for. The man that helped me, Jim, seemed really knowledgeable, very helpful without being the aggressive salesman. I purchased it at a good price I knew because I was looking prior. I was still a little skeptical because it was such a good price(maybe it was fake). I happened to be at JC Penny that night and saw a ring that looked just like mine. While the employees can be a bit rude and say stupid crap, they're helpful enough, and I understand and respect that they have a business to run. They have to make money, as they have lives too, so I'm not against their pricing; I think their very fair, and will work with you as long as you're not a jerk to them. I would recommend this place to anyone who isn't looking to get rich off of pawning or selling their garbage, or is looking to get something lightly used for a great price! read more

Stay away from this place for any kind of power equipment, and tools they do not stand by any of there equipment. True story, I bought a 125 Chainsaw that the shady salesman said it is so good used it one time and oil was leaking like crazy as inspection of the tool I noticed a hair line crack took it back to store and showed them, they said we can buy it back for half, or you, meaning me, can go to Home Depot and buy the parts and fix it myself. I posted the review tell customers to go to the local hardware store pay 75 dollars for the piece of mind. The owner wrote a response to call him tell and tell him the story, so I call wasted my time to tell the story he then told me go to Home Depot buy the parts there, there is nothing he can do, then i said why did you waste my time, and tell me to call, then he said in his own words "have a good f@@k@@g day" stay away from this place unless you want to be beat like me read more

I don't spend enough money so I'm not worth their time? Wow. I'm not surprised to see other negative reviews about Larry's Pawn. Their customer service SUCKS. I walked in late afternoon to buy computer speakers they advertised on Craigslist. They got them off the shelf for me, and I tried to plug them into the laptop I brought along. They said, "No, that's little thing's not worth my time to stay around." It turned out, I walked in 10 minutes after they closed. The door was unlocked, they didn't say they were closed, and they showed me the item I was looking for. ...But they wouldn't let me plug in the speakers to my laptop? Oh sorry fellas I don't meet your upper tier of clientele. After expressing my disgust with their lack of customer service, the short buzz haircut worker repeatedly hollered to my as I left... "Have a nice day!"... To the point you know he was being a smart ass. Wow, I pray y'all never have to experience that low level of customer appreciation. read more

I havnt been into a pawn shop in a few years because there is no need, i can buy on ebay or deal directly with craigslist however i happened to have bought a bunch of scrap gold i was planning on melting. That particular day, i was going around from shop to shop getting prices and happened to stop into this larrys pawn. I walk in and go up to the counter with the bag of scrap gold i had bought looking to get a price. There was a younger kid behind the counter on a cell phone and laptop and i sat there for 5 minutes waiting for his conversation to end - typical pawn shop service so i was like whatever. He would not give me a price for gold, just asked how much i wanted, i told him. He then asked me if the gold was min and i said yes. He continued to examine the gold and found an engraving on one of the scrap rings i was unaware of and asked me what the engraving said. I said I dont know. He immediately came to the conclusion that the jewelry was stolen, and WHILE customers were in the store exclaimed that if i was to sell this jewelry i would be arrested since it was stolen AND IT WAS NOT STOLEN LOL I immediately said give me jewelry back im going elsewhere and he looked surprised! Why did he look surprised? Ill tell you because this little runt was trained to belittle people in a pawn setting to get them to sell cheaply - i didnt fall for it and laughed my way out. I recommend you stay away from these fools for any type of business transaction especially the little puke in this location LOL read more
