West here for a late business diner - we'll late for us Gringos and early for the Mexicanos :). That said, what an experience. Apparently this is one of Monterrey's best restaurants - and in my humble opinion, one of the best restaurants I've been to in quite some time. I could bore y'all with maybe 3 other joints in the past year or two from my travels that were truly this memorable but let's just keep it simple - this place rocks! I'm so lucky that it's within walking distance from my hotel too - how lucky is that??? If your looking for a great dinner, from start to finish, just come...you won't be disappointed. Trust me...just look at the photos - the vittles are amazing. Enjoy.

Which means, they know what to order! This restaurant also came highly recommended by another friend as well. We started out with several appetizers. I know we eat beats in the states, but not like they make at La Nacional. These beats were peeled, quartered, grilled and served with an aioli sauce that complemented them perfectly. They also brought out grilled artichokes, halved with some olive oil, salt and pepper. Fabulously simple. We had beans, salsa, chips and a meat ceviche (or it seemed) very flavorful! After all that, who needs a meal right!?!?!? Wrong! You have to try the peppered rib-eye, yes it is 1 KG of meat, so you better share but it is fabulous! I think after all those appetizers we shared one ribeye with 4 people. My mouth is watering just thinking about that steak again. The atmosphere, is very nice as well. It's the best meal I've eaten in Mexico. I'll definitely make sure to go again when in town next.

So we decided to give us one to go. The inside is so cool. It's definitely a vibe. The waiters and waitresses are so nice. They got a seated right away and our waiter knew what to recommend and was just so nice very attentive the whole time. So you start off with complementary chips and salsa, which was great. I ordered a gin with red fruits and club soda in it, which was very refreshing and they balanced it really well. For food I got the Mollejas plate which is one of my favorites I asked for an extra crispy and they definitely listened, and it was delicious. My aunt got the machitos and she said it was delicious. It was not up to my pallet. It was too wild for me but for the people that like that stuff it is definitely up your alley and my aunt said this was some of the best ones that she's had. My mother got the cabrito paleta and I was always skeptical on Cabrito but I have to say it was really good and not wild at all. I would definitely get some again when I go back to Mexico. It also came with complementary Charo beans and they were delicious. And really nice. They comped us some frijoles con veneno and they tasted so good. I would've never ever thought to order those. At the end, they bring you a huge tray of desserts to choose from and of course I went straight for the Guayaba cheesecake. It's my favorite dessert to eat when I'm there in Mexico. It was divine. So this place definitely lives up to its standards. It is really cool to see. Definitely added to your list when you're visiting out here.
