The food is good here, and the decor is fine. Unfortunately, the last visit I had to this restaurant, there was a very rude customer who came up to me when I was sitting alone at a table. I was watching a video on my phone of some kids at my school and he said that he and his wife couldn't eat in peace. He even called me a certain curse word when I stood up for myself. At the time it was just my table and their table, so there was not a bunch of extra noise or anything. I asked to be moved to a different room. My waitress accommodated that, and then the restaurant took a little off my bill, because the guy was so mean. I appreciated all of that. My husband had just passed away, and I won't forget the kindness of that waitress that day. read more

Pretty good food, but the fryer is not vented and you end up needing to shower and change clothes after eating there unless you want to smell like a giant chimichanga. Service - meh. Typical place for the area. Unimpressive. But about the best that's left in Berlin, a town with few dining choices and the ones that they have are lousy. read more

Went back. Order fajitas for 2. My son and i were greeted by a nice kid waiting, excellent job kid. "Carlos" was cooking, let me tell ya, not good. Fajitas for two hungry guys meant 1.5 ounces steak, 4 shrimp, 2 ounces chicken, and one pound of onions. Very disappointed. Will be going to Ripon for Mexican food from now on. read more

My boyfriend took me there for an early dinner after a stressful day!! The food was wonderful, I got the Fajitas, he got the enchilada and both were delicious!! But what was even more delicious was the Mango Margarita that he ordered for me!! Service was fast, food was delicious, even had to take a take home box. Employees were friendly!! The taco and tostada that I received in the Special Dinner were quite good. The vegetables were a fresh as you'd expect from a restaurant in the dead of winter in Wisconsin. The ground beef has a different texture than most places, but had good taste. This positive experience didn't continue to the service though. On the phone for the takeout order I was told it would be ready in 15 minutes, and it took me about 20 to get to the restaurant. When I arrived, I paid, and only then was told that my food was accidentally given to someone else. These things happen, but it still took over 20 mins to get the order made again. A couple extra tacos and getting my order slightly quicker would have made this a non-issue. Unfortunately, it was disappointing. When I got back home the dissatisfaction continued with the tamale and Chile relleno. The sauce was not very flavorful and just tasted like tomato paste. Back to a positive, my girlfriend also thought her two tacos were pretty good. In all they did an okay job, but could improve in several areas. I may return to eat-in when it is safer to do so, until then I'm going to have to look elsewhere for Sunday evening dinner choices. read more

Originally I would say 4-5 stars for Las Brasas, but it's been getting consistently worse for us over about the last 5 visits and 2 years. Very disappointing it is, because the place is inviting as decor and design go inside. The trouble: I believe it's the staff. My opinion is that a Mexican restaurant should have Mexicans doing the work. They're the ones in the know. Our wait staff always mean well, but they have a hard time knowing what they're doing. Is it bad training? Is it that they hail from a small midwestern town with its own cultures.... that AREN'T Mexican?? Dunno. The food: there is probably less salt out in the desert flats where cars set land speed records. The fajitas I got with my salt had very little amounts of meat (got the steak/chicken combo) to go with the peppers/onion. It came nice and hot though. So did my wife's seafood molcahete, but it smelled raunchy even in its cooked state. When seafood sometimes smells a little gamey in the raw, you can usually get it to go away when it's cooked. I noticed immediately that there was something a little off as I checked it out, but we were so hungry that my stomach dismissed those warnings. So did my wife's stomach! More on that later. Now to what really roasts me. You get three tortillas for the fajita, three for the molcahete. We ordered some more tortillas and some more sour cream; we got charged for it! There was no one at the bar (we rarely see anyone there anymore); there was one other table which left (Thurs night late though). Despite that our staff had to be reminded multiple times to help us with multiple things. I am usually a big tipper (20%+) but when I got a $42.xx bill for that BS for two people, I left $49 cash. Disappointed. And my wife puked her guts out when we got home. Nice test now: let's see if the owners read their reviews and invite me back to try their (what used to be) awesome food. We've been to Las Brassas numerous times since we moved back to the valley. They have Competent carnitas and well balanced burritos. The avocado and other vegetables were fresh, and the carne asada was succulent. The location and atmosphere are unassuming, simple and down to earth. We go on Fridays for fish. People think I'm crazy to go to a Mexican restaurant for fish, but it's the best in town. My son who doesn't like fish loves it. Very light batter on fish let's the fish taste exceptional. Comes with all the sides you expect from a fish fry. read more

Stopped here on a whim, food was decent, nothing to rave about but then again nothing compares to real Mexican food. It was okay but typical bland Wisconsin Mexican food. better than taco bell but nothing you get at grandmas house. being of Hispanic decent I wasn't all that thrilled but let me say the spicy salsa they had in the back was great, probably the only reason I'd go back. prices were fair, two plates for around $20 with sodas isn't bad at all. the rice and beans were better than most other restaurants I've been to and the food came out very fast. read more
