We were celebrating a birthday for one of our friends, and no one RSVP'd, so we started off with 9 people and ended up having more than 26 show up. Luckily, we were already placed in their party room. I know we didn't reserve the room in advance but they were so accommodating. We had one server, and he did such a great job. He was definitely serving multiple tables, but overall he had help from the food runners. The food was decent... Since our party was so big, most of the food came out at different times because guests arrived at different times.LOL I would say this is not your typical Mexican restaurant decor. It's super modern, the bathrooms were clean with plenty of stalls, and there were no issues with parking since it's located in a plaza. There was also plenty of waiting area and the bar is huge. Our server was friendly and patient. I would say my ceviche was a tad bland, so I'd probably try the Birria tacos next time as my friend said they were really good. I would also come back during happy hour since their horchata was really good. I asked them to add rum and it was so good with a sprinkle of cinnamon. Seems like every time we come here it's hit or miss. if it's gonna be great it's great but if it's gonna be bad it's gonna be bad. Both plates and the rice and beans were cold. It's one of our favorite things about going to get Mexican food. Plate wasn't hot. The steak quesadilla was more like a fajita taco I suppose. I also ordered a small cheese dip that was not hot. It was barely warm enough to dip a chip in and scoop a clump out. We were sat at our table, chips and salsa brought with no waters for 10 minutes. Once our server did show up it seemed like he was busy doing other things. I still wish they would change the lightbulbs to a warm white versus the obnoxious daylight bulbs. The food is authentically Mexican, with very generous portions--so while the prices reflect that, you're absolutely getting your money's worth. Decided to try this on a Friday evening, and it was packed! The wait wasn't too bad to get seated, though! The decor was really cool. I thought it looked pretty nice. They had so much on their menu. I was honestly impressed at how much they had. I really liked their French fries here. One of the best fries I've had around town. The Angel's plate was really good. It had a nice cheese sauce and was pretty much stuffed with everything inside (chicken, steak, shrimp). For as packed as they were, the tech time was really good. Las Trojas is one of the best new additions to the restaurant row of Medical Center Parkway. It's spacious and attractive with a premium placed on service. The menu is huge, with tons of options, many not available at other places in the city's large, vibrant Mexican food scene. (Try its take on pizza, for instance.) I was impressed with the preparation, freshness, and quality of the Alambres. Equally good was the choriqueso--and the chips were crunchy and warm. Servings are generous too. Yes prices are probably a bit high--maybe $3 bucks more on major entries and starters--but considering the location, the large parking area, and the design of the venue--you have to pay for that location just off the interstate, and for the comfort inside. Plus the quality of the food and the service. Is Las Trojas my go-to place, nope, but it would be for groups, and for a leisurely dinner with friends. You need these options in every growing Murfreesboro. read more

Mediocre at best. Worst Michelada I've ever had, food was bland, and cost was astronomical. The ambience was different with a large, open feel but that's where the positives end. I had fajitas which seemed to be made from a microwaveable kit you get from the frozen food section at Walmart... they were bland and plain. My wife had the Mexican tacos which seemed to be a bit better but nothing special. We had the cheese dip, guacamole and chips and salsa as a starter. The salsa was ok, and the other two were good. The best part of the entire meal was probably the tortillas; they were fresh and had a perfect consistency. Service was a bit slow and below average, especially for the prices they are demanding. When my Michelada finally arrived twenty minutes after ordering, it was horrible... and for $15.99 it was down right criminal. It tasted like they had watered down a warm beer with ice and then added a splash of Michelada mix. Prices are ridiculous. Seriously ridiculous. It was $82 for the above meal and not worth $30. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME TRYING THIS PLACE. Go to ANY OTHER of the dozens of Mexican restaurants around and get superior quality food, better service, and spend 1/4 the money at the same time. read more

Finally came here because we saw a FB post about their margarita flights. We got there around 12:30 and they were able to seat us right away even though we had a large party. It seemed a bit empty, which kinda surprised me as it's a Saturday. The place seemed well decorated. I'm no expert in Mexican food but the I thought the food was pretty good. I was shocked that they served ramen at a Mexican restaurant but it was honestly quite good. The ramen was cooked al dente and the flavor was good. The pollo and steak feliz were great. Absolutely loved my margarita flight - mango, pineapple, passion fruit and peach. The servers there checked up on us regularly and made sure we had everything we needed. I'm kinda surprised by some of the low ratings. The prices are more expensive than average Mexican restaurants but I think it was good for the experience. We have been going to Lad Trina's acantina since it opened. Love the food, prices are a bit high. Recently our visit was horrible!! We were seated right away, we waited awhile for chips and our drink order. It wasn't so busy to account for the wait time. After the waitress took our order, our food was delivered by another wait staff, we asked for two separate plates to accommodate our fajitas. We waited awhile and our waitress that took our ordered appeared without the plates so we asked again and waited and waited! I ended up having to walk up to the bar where she was standing there chatting with another employee. I was pretty disturbed that I had to chase down plates after asking for them twice! After that I was done! Not sure if we will go back now, seems that they are getting comfortable and don't have to serve their customers. The service needs to improve and be consistent. We decided to try this place on a night after they had been open for a while. It's been a about of a month so we decided to give it a shot. We first walked in and it was pretty busy, but there were two seats open at the bar. There were dirty bar glasses, plates and the countertop was dirty and it took about five minutes for them to get that cleaned off and ask us if we wanted a drink. We ordered two margaritas asking if they're buy one get one since a lot of places in town usually do buy one get one on the weekends (Carmen's and Mi Patria) and they are actually $14 each here. It's very bright inside the restaurant and the bar is very comfy. Not sure who the designer was but I feel bad for the bartenders because the tallest one was 6' and he was the only one to reach the beer tappers. They clearly need to get more organized. There should be one or two bartenders working on servers orders and there should be at least one or two focusing on the bar and getting meals in. Instead, they were playing rock paper scissors to decide who had to make the next drink for customers outside of the bar. The attention was NOT great. It took us a while to get chips and salsa, which were actually really good! We ordered the chorizo queso which was delightful, but the manager stopped and told us the next time we needed to get the Los trojas dip because it's outstanding. My husband ordered the los trojas special and everything was lacking flavor. It clearly is customized for the American pallet. I had the Mexican street tacos and I had lengua, steak and shredded chicken. There was absolutely no taste to anything besides the red salsa which is hot as fire. The tortillas were so chewy. I had to put them on the side and just eat the meat. Overall they need to work out food, service and balancing bar and tables but the ambiance is nice and the location is impeccable as they'll get a lot of customers coming over from the hotels nearby. My parents just moved to town and love Mexican so we decided to try this new place out. My daughters loved the horses both outside and inside the restaurant! They are huge! We went to Las Trojas Cantina for dinner and it was overall fine. The margaritas were good and I loved all of the options! I had a hard time choosing just one! The restaurant had a lot of interesting lighting and it was clean - which was to be expected as a nearly brand new place. My enchiladas were pretty subpar for the price and I did not appreciate not being able to completely customize my table-side guac - normally, someone comes out with all of the ingredients and I can say more of this, less of that - there was clearly a set amount of toppings we could have which was disappointing. Our server also did not bring out extra chips with my $15 table-side guac and I had to ask twice for more chips. Drinks were left unfilled for quite some time. I hope they will work out some of the issues. We were chatting as a group, so it wasn't a bad time, but it was expensive for the lackluster service and underwhelming food. read more

Finally came and checked out the new spot in Murfreesboro and it's been a godsend! The corn and flour tortillas are made in house and they are delicious and amazing! This is one of the only places that does this in Murfreesboro! Service has been great so far, really attentive staff and manager. Drinks are delicious and makes the entire meal perfect! I was with a party of 7 on a Monday night. We were seated pretty quickly but that is where the positive time ended. The service was by far the worst I've experienced in a long time. We were there for over 2 hours....not because we were all enjoying each others company. We had to wait for chips & salsa, drinks, the food, silverware, etc. At one point they dropped off one of our plates at another table where it sat for about 10 minutes before that table flagged a waiter down and told him it wasn't theirs. He actually picked up the plate and brought it to our table. When we finally received all of our food we had no silverware. 10 minutes later we finally received the silverware. Waiters kept walking past our table and didn't even take our drinks the whole time we were there. Finally!!! A delicious Mexican restaurant in the Boro! It is now my number one go to. I couldn't stop looking at the decor! I like to break down my review for the audience. Service was good management stopped at our table and waitress was attentive. Food was okay they could have seasoned the fajitas (bland, bland, bland and no sizzle). I personally hate when you order fajitas and it doesn't arrive sizzling. Part of ordering fajitas is the sizzle and seasoning. The wraps were very good tasted home made. I thought the salsa and chips were meh. I've had better but it wasn't terrible. Also my fajitas were heavy on the vegetables and less on the meat. Decor was beautiful but at night PLEASE lower the lights. It was like I was eating at a school cafeteria. Mood lighting is important at restaurants. I believe it will bring you all more money. The right lighting relaxes people and typically will inspire folks to drink more and spend more money.
