I like coming here whenever I need to wash my Summer and Winter blankets (those, big, soft, plushy, colorful Asian blankets with flowers and/or peacocks on them). The washing machines ($3.25) and dryers ($1 for 20 mins) that I use for them gets the job done within two hours or less (depending on how many I have to wash at times). Las Tunas Coin Laundry is located on the corner of Las Tunas Drive and Golden West Avenue in Temple City. Across the street from them is Temple City Public Library and the adjacent street has Carl's Jr., and McDonald's (in case you get hungry and want some fast food). Parking: Medium size parking as well as street parking. The laundromat itself is spacious, somewhat clean, but a bit rundown and older. A huge makeover is definitely needed. It still looks the same since my family moved into this neighborhood since the early 90s. Sometimes, the machines are out of order, but you can always find other ones to get the job done. Washing Machine Prices: $2 to $6.75 (depending on the machine size and loads that you are washing). Dryer Machine Prices: +$0.25 for 8 mins (Small Loads ~30lbs) +1.00 for 20 mins (Medium Loads ~50lbs) +1.50 for 20 mins (Large Loads ~50lbs+) I love their quarter machines, lol! Sounds like you're in old-skool Las Vegas whenever you're exchanging the dollar bills for quarters, lol! They also sell $0.50 laundry bags and $1 packets of powdered laundry detergents and fabric softener sheets. If you need the liquid versions or any other essential laundry items, Big Lots! is down the street. Drinks/Snacks: No vending machine for snacks, but they do have a soda can vending machine ($1.75). There's also Carl's Jr., and McDonald's on the other side of the street (in case you don't wanna go too far). Restroom: One Unisex, pretty clean and decent. There's a $0.25 charge to use it. Overall, I'm a fan of this laundromat. It's the closes to my home whenever I need to get my blankets cleaned. read more

Sal take care of your machines. Dryers suck a$$. I get more heat from a blow dryer. I spent over 1.50 to dry rags and still moist not wet, moist. For the most part your place is clean. First time checking out this location. Unfortunately, was not impressed. A lot of the machines have not been cleaned, there was mold in the soap, dispensing areas of the large washing machines. I used to want particular brand of washing machine, they had two different types, which I thought would've been a great thing for having more than one option. However, the pricing was different, even though the load size was the same. Unfortunately, it was not well kept, there was a lot of dog hair on the ground dirt, dust and needed to be tidied up a bit. There was an issue with my clothing, getting stuck in the dryer, in the sense that my clothes were actually getting stuck between the glass door and the drum. The smaller dryers were inconsistent, the heating element was not equal, they did not all work when placing orders into the machine. I had to move my clothes, multiple times to get them dried. The person maintaining this location did pick up the call and said that there was someone there to clean every day. When he turned on the swamp coolers, a lot of dust flew out of the vents and got all over the clothing folding station and my person as well as my clothes that just came out of the dryer. Bad timing all around. I had to wipe down the area so I could fold my clothes without getting more dirt on it, however, the vents kept blowing out clumps of dust and dirt and hair. I am not going to pick on the location for not having the newest decor or brand new Machine. However, they need to be maintained better, there was a lot of leaking from the machines of other customers while I was there. I will say the large drum dryers did their job, but they were pricey. The medium temperature element on the large dryer was just the same as the hot Temperature element. Unfortunately, some of the shirts did shrink because of a higher temperature. We are missing a few socks, and I'm wondering if it's because the drum and the door having the gap that caught my clothing. I am out $.50 but it was the price I had to pay for my first experience. I do not see myself going back to this location, unless the other laundromats in the area are closed. I hope the business owners will do their best. May be hire someone who can come in more than just once a day. Or at least be kind enough to label how much the dryers will cost and the acquainted time that it is going to have. As well as someone posting a sign to say not to wash clothes or bedding that has a lot of animal hair. Since my child has allergies, I had to rewash some of our belongings at home. I'm just happy it did not get on the bedding. That was the main reason why we went to the location in the first place. read more

So this place is sad! A disappointment to the community. It's dirty and run down and should have been cleaned up years ago. It needs to be remodeled and improved for its patrons. I don't know why it's taken me so long to make this review because of how furious this place made me. I've always passed by this place and wondered "geez this place looks outdated" but until actually engaging in this places business, I can confidently say this business is unkept and not maintained AT ALL. Firstly the floors are dirtier than you think, I went and placed my laundry bag on the floor and it picked up a layer of dust. Secondly, all the flaps for detergent are caked in mold. It is a surprise I'm still alive after enduring one of the rings of hell that is this laundry mat. Third, the dryers are not clean and the lint build up is present to the customer, I didn't grab a picture but there's a piece of molding above a dryer that's broken that's covered in lint build up. Just letting all of your customers breathe that in. Fourth, you are in no way getting a bang for your buck. If I'm going to endure the torture of this place it should be at least cheap but it's not. I spent a lot more than I should have for what this place did to me. And lastly, the sadistic owners. Who ever these people are must have a dark sense of humor because their business is a sick joke. Although I may never know who they are, I know that they only allow customers of their establishment to exchange cash for change. So if you can only offer your customers an amenity as such, why do you have a sign that says "USE MACHINES AT YOUR OWN RISK". That was the cherry on top of my fury for this place. How are going to tell the people keeping your lights on that your service is garbage? Anyways it's a shame I couldn't give this place 0 stars. All of the front load washers have mold where the soap goes there is fungus and mold in between the glass on the door. The prices are high and the property is not taking care of. Some of the washers leak leaving puddles of water on the floor no one is here to manage this facility. read more

I think everyone that comes to this laundromat does so out of convenience. It is by far the worst laundromat I've been to. It's run down and outdated. Most places have at least a manager or employee on site but this one has a help box where you leave your info on a piece of paper Incase a machine breaks down or vending machine steals your money and you need to request a refund. I've had the vending machine breakdown and eat my dollar and I've had the dryer eat my quarter. Every other machine is broken, bathroom has been out of service for over a month, oh and there is no AC it gets crazy hot during the day. This place is pretty economic in comparison to near by competitors. I just wish it were cleaner inside. My brother and I immediately noticed that this laundromat was not as well kept as other stores. Also during our visit my brother used the quarter change machine A and it only gave us $2.50 in quarters for a $5 bill... That was disappointing. It shows how this business isn't given much attention. I felt like the clothes are clean after a wash but it's the small dryers aren't that powerful. A high setting dry like a light delicates cycle... It costed me about $3 more than usual to try all my laundry... With double the time. My mom used to come here while I was a child and this isn't how I remembered the business. It used to be the cleanest, friendliest business in 626 area to do your laundry. I miss that... This laundromat is centrally located in TC so the convenience is hard to pass up. The staff keep the old place clean. There is no bathroom that to knowledge. There are four types of wash machines: not too old, older, & way old plus the top loaders which are old. Washers range from $2.50 to around $6.00 & up for the big guys. There are two types of dryers: somewhat old that work & way old that do not work. Dryers range from 0.25¢/5 minutes to $1.75/20 minutes (25¢ ones do not work). I recommend the oldest & cheapest front load washers & the 20 minute dryers. They have change machines, laundering supplies, & a vending machine for drinks. I have not seen this place overly crowded. read more

I've been going to this laundromat for four years and for the most part I've never had an issue. The machines always work and my clothes have never really been ruined. But in the past month or so I've noticed that there are cockroaches. This will be the last time I go to this laundromat, because there are roaches everywhere. not sure why the other reviews were so negative, but this coin op laundry is where I frequently go to do my laundry. I had tried other places in san gabriel and near el monte which were cheaper but those machines were SO broken down to where the water in the washing machines only came out like a trickle. Then those other laundromats dryers were so low powered that it would take a long time to dry and since it's just me, I only have 1 load yet it would take approximately 2 hours to do 1 load. Here at Las Tunas Coin op, it only takes about 20 minutes to do the wash, then about 32 minutes to dry and I'm in and out in about an hour. read more

I don't have a problem with this laundromat. It's cleaner than most and not filthy. A wee bit expensive. $1.75/wash and .25 to dry. But only 8 minutes per quarter. For .75 you can buy a packet of two fabric softener. And there's change machines. Obviously lol. (Restroom that probably takes a quarter to use) And a sink with working water. 3 stars because it's expensive. I just moved to an apartment in Temple City and thought it was great there is a laundromat in the area. I used them all the time in Monrovia and liked being able to take care of all my family's washing needs in a couple of hours no matter how many clothes needed washing. But Las Tunas Coin Laundry was such a disappointment. On a recent visit, several of the larger front-load washers were out of order, so I needed to use a lot of small, over-priced ones. The dryers gave 2 minutes less per quarter than other laundry mats that I have been to and despite setting the dryers to high heat, my clothes never dried. Machines aside, no one seemed to sit around and hang out while they did their laundry. Not that everyone needs to sit around and read a book, but it was a bit eerie to have a bunch of machines running in the evening and absolutely no one waiting around. I guess this is one laundry mat people are eager to leave. I'm not going back to this place. read more

I'm a regular at this coin-op laundry. This has to be the worst experience at this coin-op. I had a Hispanic lady that was closing the site trying to rush me . I new what time the site closed which was 10pm. Once the Hispanic lady told me that I should check my laundry because she will turn off the light exactly at 10pm. And after she walked away she was talking garbage about my fiancé , her sister and I. Pretty mush saying that (who the hell do this people think they can do and take their time). One I started taking out my laundry out of the dryer the Hispanic lady told me to hurry up, and I still had 15 minuets before closing hour. She also told an elderly Asian lady to take her laundry out even tho her time wasn't finish because their where 3 min to close. But what it looked like the Hispanic lady had her friends or family doing laundry. The Hispanic lady didn't tell them anything. I felt like I was being racially profiled. This place is clean with lots of working machines, but they're bit more expensive. The old fashion washers are $2.00/22min. Newer tumbling washers range from $3.25~$4.25/load. Medium-sized dryers are $0.25/8min. 50lbs dryers are $1.00/20min. 75lb dryers are $1.75/20min. They also charge you for using the restroom($0.25)... I only come because this is the only one within walking distance for me =/ Nonetheless, it's a nice feeling knowing the machines won't break down on me :] read more

It's an okay laundromat. Washers and dryers are like your typical places. They only have one kind of dryer, which is the big industrial looking ones and those are $0.25 per 8 minutes. I've been to a few laundromats and this one is one of the better ones. With that said, why can't these places ever vacuum their facilities? I only see them sweep or clean the obvious surfaces with towels but they never deep clean with a vacuum. How hard is it to do that?? If you look close, they're really filthy everywhere. read more

I am a near by resident, I love going to this laundry mat because of its cleanliness and machines. Tonight however must be the worst experience I have ever had. The Hispanic lady closing the laundry tonight was very rude. She was rushing all the customers to not fold there clothing so that she could close the store exactly at 10PM. While rushing me and others, she was talking shit in Spanish to her children and other Hispanics in the laundry of how my boyfriend, little sister and I think that we are superior, better than everyone, snobby people. I felt very racially profiled, even though I am Hispanic as well. She obviously couldn't tell. An elderly oriental woman was finishing up her drying as well when this employee walked up to her and demanded that she had no time to fold clothing, that she needed to leave before 10. The elderly lady then proceeded to throw her clothes in her basket feeling embarrassed. I feel like if your clothing is dried and finished before 10 PM, the doors should lock and the people who are remaining should be able to put there clothing in there baskets as they please to do so without feeling like they have to run out with wet clothes. I hope the owner reads this and understands that there is a certain way to conduct his or hers customers. Especially if we the customers are the ones keeping this business open. This should not be happening ever again. If so, this employee should keep it professional and patient. read more

The laundry mat is a bit clean but I have notice lately that they charge way too much and especially it is always stuffy in this place when you need a little air on at lease during the summer time when lately it's been getting hot so early in the mornings. Other then that yes it is a bit pricy for a wash and let alone when using the BIG dryer 1.00 for 20 minutes. That is a bit pricy I do laundry for two here. Man screw this place! I came around 845 pm just to dry my clothes because the one at my apartment was taking too long. I should have just drove a little further to the one on mission in Rosemead at least that place offers you water and a snack. The owners were just standing at the end of the place talking shit in Vietnamese about me and my boyfriend how they were closing so I felt the pressure with their beaming eyes to hurry up and finish drying since this is my first time I totally forgot to look at their closing time. I felt bad but then I looked at their hours and dude they close at 10pm and it was only 915 the owner seriously came behind me while I was folding my last load.. Really???? Like at this point I'm already upset as it is. The husband or whatever he is came to touch the dryer and said it was too hot I told him it's not drying my clothes so it's not my fault. Old style laundromat. The interior and the machines are showing their age, but everything works OK. This place is easy to get to and the area is reasonably safe. A Carl's Jr., a McDonald's, and the local library are all close by. The restroom is clean. They refund money promptly if there is a malfunction. Best local laundromat I have found. read more
