-Quit last job because wasn't challenging, didn't cover my modest living expenses. Only took position because needed references after years of working from home for myself trading stocks. Also needed more time to find new career before economic downturn. -Applied for a few jobs posted online by the LaSalle Network, which called me in for interview. -Have seen interview process described as a "cattle call." Sounds about right. Constant flow of bewildered applicants, generic interviews. Dozens of recruiters and front desk staff in a bee hive atmosphere, almost entirely young and female. Jobs I applied for not even mentioned by the young woman recruiter assigned to me - different young woman than I talked to on the phone. Asked if I would settle for LESS money than the job I had just quit, scrunched her face when I said no. Also appeared surprised when I said I did not have a criminal record. Incredibly insulting. Bad enough having to go to a recruiter in an attempt to find a new career path, particularly after having achieved success on my own DESPITE lack of professional opportunity, without having to suffer that kind of treatment. -Within days of sham interview, got message from third young woman touting job that was "great fit" for me. Called her, was offered a temp job paying $13 an hour. "You would be calling companies to verify information. That's kind of like research!" [I had expressed an interest in jobs involving numbers and/or research] Felt like I had been punched in the stomach, but politely declined the "opportunity", saying that the job didn't pay nearly enough. Within days I got another message from yet another young woman, also suggesting that she had found a job that was a "great fit" for me. My heart sank upon hearing those words. Offer was $14 an hour secretarial temp job. Great fit for ME? Who was she kidding? Quickly came to the realization that LaSalle's business model is to hire young women to fake enthusiasm and use coached catch phrases to convince desperate souls to accept jobs they are grossly overqualified for and which pay humiliating wages. -Me: UIUC graduate, B.S. Statistics. Avg. RECENT graduate with my degree makes in excess of $70,000. Long time since I was a recent graduate. Graduated in a recession and never got so much as an interview in my field of study. I SHOULD be making way more than that avg. entry salary by now. I've MADE a six figure income in the past. And here were these coached young women at LaSalle, themselves likely recent graduates, feigning excitement in trying to get me to take temp work paying less than what will be the State's minimum wage in a few years. A wage that sure as hell doesn't pay the bills for anyone living in Chicagoland. A wage significantly less than what I was making at the job I had recently quit because it paid too little. And I had TOLD them this at my interview. Completely degrading. -Months later saw Data Analyst position online. My skills met requirements. Job posted by...LaSalle Network. Ugh. I had had no contact with them since the junk temp offers, but swallowed pride and applied. Contacted quickly by new young woman attempting to interest me in entirely different position. Typical. Explained that some company was interested in me. Emailed me the information. Looked it over and expressed tentative interest. She then said I would need to take the Wunderlich Test. She would follow up if company interested in interviewing me directly. The Wunderlich is short aptitude test - 50 questions, 12 minutes. Avg. score 20/50. I am a borderline genius who has always tested in the top 1% on standardized tests, including a 34 on the ACT. I breezed through the 50 questions until a complicated spatial one at #49. Skipped to 50, came back but ran out of time, took wild guess. Was upset with myself for having double checked too many prior questions, but confident in all my other answers and quite certain that I scored in the upper 40s. Never got contacted for an interview. -So...was I considered too SMART for the position? Or had the company never actually expressed an interest? My guess: LaSalle was leading me on so that they could throw another completed candidate profile on the pile to send to the company. -After THAT sham of a process I asked the woman who had strung me along why she had not mentioned the Data Analyst job. The one I was actually interested in and qualified for. The application for which was the obvious impetus for her having contacted me about the OTHER job. She claimed they never got the application and that she had contacted me by sheer coincidence after no contact for months. So I sent her the confirmation that I HAD applied and was ignored. My last contact with them. -LaSalle Network is a truly rotten, manipulative organization. The epitome of cynical business practices. Main goal is cheap overqualified labor for client companies - whatever it takes. read more

I cannot thank the LaSalle Network enough for what they did to help me make that next big step in my career. Shout out to Gage Nordlof! :) I had been searching for a job for quite a long time. My experience had largely been in non-profits, but I was hoping to make an industry switch into the technology sector, as my strong-suite was in digital marketing and graphic design. I was having difficulties, namely because I think the larger companies I was interested in would look at my experience in a small agency and believe that I did not have the credentials or the understanding of the "corporate" mindset. It was tough... I did everything I could to pick up freelance work that was tech-related, but no one was giving me many double-takes. I took advice from a friend and put my resume on Career Builder and on Monster, and within a few weeks, I was contacted by Gage at the LaSalle Network. I will say that in the beginning, I was quite skeptical. You hear so much nay-say about recruiting agencies and how the recruiters are looking out for their own personal gain... but after a week or two into building a relationship with Gage (coming in for the initial interview, looking at different jobs he would send), I began to genuinely like him and realized that he truly was there to help me. Now, when you go in for the first interview, don't expect them to walk you down a red carpet. It's true... there are many people constantly coming in and out for interviews. It's easy to feel a bit rushed or to get that "herded cattle" sort of feeling. But don't be turned off! Otherwise you could miss a huge opportunity... Plus, I think that's more of a testament to the harsh conditions of the job market, than LaSalle Network's so-called "lust to make money off of more and more candidates" (I don't think that exists, I'm just trying to make a point). People need jobs! So DUH. There are going to be a lot of people in their offices, coming and going nonstop. Anyway, you fill out some forms that say what you're interested in, what your skills are. And then you also have to take a test to show your skills in basic Microsoft programs. Some companies have certain skill requirements, so they want to make sure you fulfill those, otherwise they won't recommend you to those companies. MY BIGGEST PIECE OF ADVICE: Know what you want and commit to it. If you have a certain salary you want and you won't budge... commit to that and don't let anyone talk you down. Know what you're worth. If you want a job that's close to the place you live, then you need to commit to that choice and don't budge. Recruiters want to find you work, and that is their main objective. So if they try to talk you out of a choice you've made, don't view this as duplicitous. View it as them trying to help you obtain your ultimate goal of employment... they assume that if you're coming to them, you NEED a job, like... yesterday. So know what you know and know what factors you're willing to concede on. Gage was extremely respectful of me and my wants and he even negotiated for me in the end on some items I was not willing to budge on. When it was all said and done, I got exactly the type of job I wanted in exactly the industry I wanted in exactly the location I wanted and with all the bells and whistles that I wanted. I was SO HAPPY and today, after 6 months at my new job, I'm even happier! Thank you so much, Gage! And the rest of the LaSalle Network. Like some of the other responders who gave the LaSalle Network 5 stars, I am also surprised by all of the poor reviews of this agency. Listen people... you need to be realistic about what you're getting yourself into when you work with a recruiting company. Instead of being disappointed about their inability to place you, maybe the problem has more to do with YOU. #workharder And yes, I can use hashtags. I'm in Digital Marketing... the amazing job the LaSalle Network helped me land. Emphasis on "HELPED," because your professional career is ultimately in your hands. They can find you the opportunity, but don't blame them if you're not "shiny" enough or impressive enough to land the position. Plus, recruiters don't NEED you... YOU need THEM! I'm sorry for all of you that have had bad experiences with the LaSalle Network. Let me tell you my story - I know you shouldn't believe everything you read on the internet, but for what it's worth, I'm telling the truth. Right before I graduated from college, I applied to a position on CareerBuilder that apparently had been advertised by the LaSalle Network; I didn't notice at the time that a staffing agency had made the posting, so I was rather surprised to get a call a week or so later asking if I'd be interested in another opportunity they had open. I talked to Sally for ~20 minutes and we scheduled an interview. I came to the interview at the Oak Brook office and met first with Mike, then with Sam. Both were very energetic and personable, and I felt good about the interview. Nevertheless, I was surprised to get a call the very next day saying that they would like to send me to interview for the position! It was a financial aid job at a local for-profit university; not necessarily my dream job, but the pay was great and you can't afford to be TOO picky as a fresh grad in a down economy. Fast forward a couple weeks to the interview. Sam called me on the phone several times to walk me through the interview process step-by-step so there would be no surprises when I showed up. She coached me and made sure I knew what the client would be looking for and how I could put my best face forward. I had 2 interviews with the client, and though I didn't end up getting that job it was a very positive experience. LaSalle called me several times afterward as well, offering me a couple of jobs that I wasn't interested in (I told them so, and they were completely ok with it), but then they offered me one I was interested in! I've been working there on a part-time temp basis for the last ~3 months and it's been a great experience. I've recommended the LaSalle Network to several of my friends and my brother interviewed there just today. Tomorrow is my last day at the temp job LaSalle placed me in - only because I found a great full-time job through a family friend of mine and will be starting soon. Some words of advice I would give to anyone working with an agency like LaSalle: 1: Know what they can offer, and what they can't. Their clients are the employers, which means that while they will do their best to match the right people with the right positions, they aren't going to work overtime to find YOU the job YOU'VE always wanted. 2: Know where you fit in. If you're a fresh grad looking to make $50k in a marketing job, well, get in line. There are thousands more like you, and you're probably better off adjusting your expectations and working your way up. 3: Understand that any given recruiter looks at hundreds of resumes every day, and it may take a thousand before they find one candidate that's really the right fit for a certain job. Just because they don't call you to offer you a job within a week or two doesn't mean they're useless. 4: If you view this as a relationship worth nurturing, it is much more likely to be productive for you in the future. I know that I'll keep getting calls from LaSalle in the future even though I've found a job, simply because I have a relationship with them and I'm not so foolish as to think that once I've found my first job I'll never have any use for them again. So I guess in summary, I feel bad for those of you who have had bad experiences, and while I believe you're telling the truth about what happened to you, I don't think others reading the reviews on this site will get a very accurate picture of what they can expect when dealing with the LaSalle Network. Unlike the other reviews, I've had a wonderful experience with LaSalle. I had applied for a permanent positions they advertised through Careerbuilder in August 2010 and got an interview with LaSalle and the other employer. Unfortunately, I did not get the position. But LaSalle began working right away to find me some temp work in hopes of keeping my skills up-to-date. Although they were a source to find employment, they were not my only source. I had three other agencies "trying" to find me work (that did not help) and I was looking on my own, as well. After a couple months of me blowing LaSalle off, they continued to call about new positions. At that time I was waiting a response on a perm position with another employer (which I did not get) and, therefore, did not want to commit to any jobs with LaSalle. In November 2010, I decided to give them a try and take a 3-day temp position that turned into 2 weeks. After that position ended, I continued to get calls on other positions. Some were 1-day jobs and some part-time temps. Both of which I declined as well. I was looking for longer-term commitments. One thing to remember is that they are a temp agency and you do not have to take every job they call you about. You, as a job seeker, need to use them as a resource, not your only source. So use them as just that - another source. Be strategic about the jobs you take, because they will be monitoring on your performace. In December 2010, I got a call from Nikki about an opening lasting 2 months. So I interviewed and got the job. It was great because the commute was short and I was going to be working during the holiday season when I really needed it. After only a month of working there, I was recruited by the VP of Field Operations for a position that was created for me and was offered a permanent position. I was extremely fortunate! And am extremely grateful! I accepted the position and have been happily working there since. I understand that my experience with LaSalle is rare, and that's unfortunate. I would love to hear more stories like mine here to show that not everyone has a terrible experience with LaSalle. Yes, they are a staffing agency and cannot pay you the entire $20 hr they charge the employer to have you, otherwise they would be out of business. This is what they do - find you a job - and there is a cost for it. Everyone does it, regardless of the industry. Do you think it costs $2,000 to make a MacBook Pro laptop? No, otherwise Apple would not exist. My advice to others using staffing agencies, like LaSalle, is to see them as an opportunity. They get feed back of your performance from Every Single job you do for them. And that will determine whether you get called back for another. You also have to see the jobs you do with the different employers as an opportunity and prove you are worth keeping. There might be openings of which you do not know. I also know LaSalle might not be a great fit for everyone. If this was your case, just move one and find one that is. Do what is best for you and be patient. Although I was very fortunate to be offered a job, it did not come over night. And I must have applied for at 50 jobs before accepting one. LaSalle did a great job for me and I am sure there are others with similar experiences. At the end of the day, just remember, business is business, do not take it personal. MAKING DREAMS HAPPEN! What people need to remember is that when it comes to recruiting agencies, MANY people are utilizing them nowadays, because you need someone who can represent you and your abilities. People tend to forget that others CAN outshine them, and so people get upset when they don't hear back from recruiters thinking they're entitled to get all this information that quite frankly, they do not deserve. What I thoroughly enjoyed with LaSalle Network was how wonderful everyone was to work with. From the moment I got a call from Maddie, to walking into the office, and finally to my offer letter, I couldn't have asked for a better person. I went in being open minded of what LaSalle could do for me, and quite honestly I couldn't be too picky as I was in depress need of a job. Working with Maddie and her team of Cara and Colby, I couldn't ask for better people. Maddie kept me up to date on almost an every other day basis and involved Cara and Colby in my job search. They really listened to what I wanted in terms of short and long-term goals. Their dedication was like nothing I ever experienced. Only one time did I feel perhaps like things weren't going right, but Maddie was easy to talk with that I expressed my concerns and we were right back on track. Maddie worked with my schedule and kept scheduling phone, skype, and inperson interviews for me left and right. Granted I didn't even know some of the companies, I had to try them out because you never know. (Sometimes I feel people only want big shot names and sometimes those companies are not as great as you think - don't be afraid to go for something you never heard of!) After all the blood, sweat, and tears (from running around the Chicagoland area in high heels and the lovely ever changing weather) Maddie and the team found me my dream job. The time and dedication they put into my career search, I'll never forget. I couldn't have asked for better partners in crime. Maddie is one of the best recruiters out there and she deserves a "Recruiter of the Year" award. To show my appreciation, I went and bought gift cards and Edible Arrangements for her. You'll never find a better recruiter than Maddie and the people at LaSalle Network. You just have to remember that you're not the only one looking for jobs and sometimes it takes time for something to match up with your skills. Also, if you don't hear back from your recruiter, don't be afraid to pick up the phone and chat! Remember to be open and honest with your recruiter. People tend to think recruiters only want to place you to earn commission. While that may be true with some folks, with the people at LaSalle, especially Maddie, you can trust that you'll have not only a recruiter who will fight tooth and nail for you, but an honest career adviser, too! I'm not gonna lie, when I first started working with LaSalle Network I was a little skeptical because of the negative reviews. I was called about an HR position they were hiring on a few months ago and I went into their office but nothing came of it. However, about a few weeks ago Abbey Toureene remembered me and my experience and called me about a job they thought I would be great for. I was pleasantly surprised that they had remembered me and were reaching out. I started working with Abbey and refreshed her mind on my experience and next thing you know it she's setting up a phone interview for me and consistently following up to make sure I was well prepared and didn't miss a step. This was great, we then waiting to hear from the client on a possible face to face interview however at the same time Abbey was about to go out of town. Honestly, I thought I was doomed at that point and that I wouldn't hear anything back about a face to face or that something would fall through the cracks and affect my opportunity. I started to accept that I might not hear back from Abbey or someone else; however, to my surprise Abbey was very transparent about who would be taking over and who I could call in the event that I needed something. Grace Flickinger, the team's lead, reached out to me after my last communication with Abbey to introduce herself and provide updates on my face to face. I was pleasantly surprised to hear from her and started feeling more confident about these interviews. I end up meeting Grace since I had to stop by their office to drop off copies of my IDs. She answered any questions I had. Later that day Grace provided concrete details on my Face to Face interview and set up a pre-interview prep call for the day of. The day of my face to face interview, Grace called me at the time we set our called for and provided pointers and answered any questions I had. I went off to my interview that day and gave Grace an update after my interview. Within 2 hours of my update to Grace, she was calling me back to extend an offer. I was elated and pleasantly shocked that there was such a swift turn around time. The best thing of all this? Is that I hadn't been in the workforce for over a year and a half because I had to focus on family. LaSalle Network didn't judge me based on my career gap but instead worked with me on getting me back on track. They were very understanding and helpful with getting me back on my feet. My experience with Lasalle Network is a blessing in disguise. As I'm reading reviews on this site, all I can do is shake my head and scrunch my face in awe. The Lasalle Network that is located downtown Chicago was very professional throughout the whole interview process. They kept me (the candidate) very well informed of what was going to happen next in the hiring process. This helped me (the candidate) a lot , so I didn't have to sit by the phone or periodically check my email for a new message. I saw a position that I felt I was a sure fit on careerbuilder.com. I applied on a Sun. kite and received a call Mon. morning. I'm sure this won't happen for every candidate, but it's one that will uplift your spirits. I was asked to come in for an interview on Tues. and you can imagine how much joy was racing through my bones from this point. I made it to the interview Tues morning 15 Min.. early of course. There were a few other candidates already there waiting for interviews. The receptionist made me coffee while I waited which is another plus for Lasalle. I was interviewed twice by two different women in which then I was asked to take a test. After all of this, I filled out more paperwork and left awaiting a phone call that I was hoping for, to come. I received a phone call days later from Lasalle stating they wanted me to go to an interview with the company we had been speaking about. I agreed to go to the interview and the rep from Lasalle Network did a mock interview with me to prepare for the question and answer part of the interview. Most temp. agencies will just send you to the job location or just put you on the assignment, but not Lasalle. I actually felt like I was in the interview during the mock interview over the phone. This practice helped me to get the job the next day, so it was very helpful. I went to take the drug test and here I go 3 weeks with a good job, thanks to Lasalle. I would recommend Lasalle to anyone who is serious about looking for employment. They are a very professional and by the book company in which if you( the candidate) is not as well, then you will find yourself still looking for employment after 1 or 2 interviews with Lasalle. If you can't represent yourself at the top of your abilities then you most certainly won't be eligible to represent Lasalle as one of their employees being sent to a job site. With Lasalle as your partner, you won't be unemployed for long, unless you want to. If you do everything that Lasalle's staff tells you to do during your interview with a potential employer then you will not go wrong. I want to be clear that LaSalle first contacted me in October and I wanted to wait before reviewing. At first when they contacted me I thought I was applying for a job, not a job placement company. They told me they wanted to see how I present myself to clients. After the initial interview where they tell you what they do and ask what you looking for they have you fill out a sheet checking off all your past skills and experiences applicable to the jobs they place people for. Afterwards I opted to take a test on their computer, which they said could also be done at home; this tested my aptitude with Microsoft Word, Excel, and typing (each thing was a separate test). Took a little over an hour (because I was almost clueless with excel), but I could see finishing all tests in under 30 min if you know your basics, Rachel was the main person I was with but there was a second, I don't remember her. Two weeks went by and I hadn't heard anything to I wrote in and they sent me an email for a possible place. I told them I'd interview. They gave me plenty of resources and tips for my resume/ interviewing (even if you don't need it it wasn't bad advice). They then take the resume you give them, reformat it and put their logo on it and then give it to the possible employer. Most of the jobs they place for are $12-15/hr. The one I got ended up being $16. I like the fact that they aren't on you weekly about how you are doing. Rachel asked that I call her after my interview with my impressions. She then called when they decided to hire me. She showed up on my first day (there were 5 people from LaSalle starting at that company that day). Otherwise, I saw her visit the office on Valentines Day to hand out small bags of candy. (LaSalle also sent a very simple Christmas card). Candy and cards don't necessarily mean your the best company but as far as ways to show your still around, I prefer it to calling/babysitting me weekly to check in. They place you in a job interview, which some of my co workers it took 2 days and some 1 month or more to get one they liked, and then it's up to you. Get the job, do it well and you'll enjoy working with them. They offer temporary jobs, permanent jobs, and temp to perm. My job is temp to perm. They don't pester me about the job but every time I have needed to email in or call I have gotten a response from them within an hour or so. They are efficient, they do keep up occasionally, and do offer a variety of positions, all decent paying (none of the min wage jobs) . After almost a month of searching on my own for a job I was satisfied with, they found me one in 2 weeks. I would/ do recommend them. read more

I recently moved to Chicago and had applied to many jobs via email and online job search sites. During my search, I came across a position that I found interest in and applied. It was for a position at The La Salle Network. Within a few days, I received a phone call pertaining to the resume that I sent in. We scheduled an interview and it turned out to be an interview for a preliminary screening to be placed into their database. Although I was a bit confused as I initially applied for a job there, not for their recruiting service, it turned out to be a great successful experience. During the interview, Rachel was very engaging and professional. She asked all of the right questions to figure out what it was that I was looking for in the job market and how my experiences and skills match. I left the interview feeling good, but not particularly confident in how this was going to help me (I used a recruiting service before and it did not help at all.) I thought that I would be placed in the database and would maybe receive a phone call a few weeks/months down the line. I was wrong for assuming! Later in the week, I received a call from Rachel regarding a job opportunity for me. Being new to the area, I was really excited to have an opportunity that I was actually interested in! Rachel, again was very professional, described to me in detail what the position has to offer and how it matches with what I am seeking, and after I agreed, she set up an interview for me the following week (only 4 days later). She told me that she will be calling me the day before the interview to check in to see if I had any questions between 2 and 3, and sure enough, she called at 2:30. Seems simple, but I appreciate the professionalism in being punctual. After my interview, I checked in with her to tell her that I was indeed interested in the position, and within a day or two, I had the job! Rachel and her team have since been very helpful and punctual throughout the process. All in all, the La Salle Network seems to have a great network of companies and if you bring your best and demonstrate your skills and abilities, I'm sure they could find a good match for you. I was seeking for an entry level position so results may differ with what you are looking for. Either way, I definitely recommend to give them a try! Conclusion: 1. I had a tremendously positive experience with the LaSalle Network. I was in Chicago for 3 weeks, and 3 friends there all temped through LaSalle, in positions that all led to full-time employment. I had no laptop, but when I walked in without an appointment they were very understanding and accommodating, allowing me to apply from inside the office on one of their computers. Everyone on staff there is a ridiculously attractive 20-something female, which was strange in it's specificity, but everyone I spoke to was on-point, professional and kind. After I applied, I requested to interview as soon as possible. They had someone call me while I was *still in the building*. Amazing. I had a casual phone conversation with Megan H. about my goals and abilities in the short term, and she told me they were very busy, but that they'd get me in for an actual entrance interview asap. I wasn't optimistic, but they called the very next day to set up a time. At the interview I spoke with both Anne G. and Rachel M. They were both straight-forward and upbeat, telling me that my resume was just fine and they were pretty sure they'd come across short-term work for me in the next 3 weeks. The interview felt less like a "Tell me about your weaknesses" interview and more like a meeting, just explaining the process. I sent them follow-up "thank you" emails to stay on their radar, and when the skills tests (word, excel and typing speed) weren't working, I came back in to take them at the office, thinking it would be smart to show up in person again anyway. In my 2 weeks left in Chicago, they found me 5 full days of work. One was working reception at the corporate headquarters of a steel manufacturer and the others were answering phones and filing at a law firm. Both were in the loop and both came with bosses and colleagues who were kind, friendly, funny and willing to answer my questions. When I didn't accept a job because I had plans or didn't get back to them fast enough, they didn't hesitate to offer me the next one. I was paid on time and without a hitch through direct deposit. I would suggest emailing and calling once a week (as they suggest) to stay on their radar. I had to print resumes, get myself to the office 3 times and send follow up emails, but they found me legitimate, safe, paying corporate work for the 2 week window I had in town, and even sent me a personal email (not a blast) afterwards asking about my experience. My experience with the LaSalle Network was excellent, and as such I have recommended them to several of my friends who are looking for jobs. I started looking for a job in the beginning of November, and shortly thereafter was contacted by LaSalle. Mike was very easy to talk to and he was very engaged in the conversation. He knew that Allison, the recruiter, was going to be near my office, so he set up a meeting in which we actually met in the lobby of my office building, which needless to say was extremely convenient for me! I thought it was so nice of Allison to make the time to sit down and talk face-to-face. She was very friendly and easy to talk to, and she was very attentive to what I was looking for in a job. In my industry, it can be difficult to find positions downtown, and I had been told flat out by several other recruiters that I would never find what I was looking for in the city. Allison did not have this attitude at all. It was clear that she was understanding to my situation and was willing to try to find something that fit my needs. In our meeting, we discussed a position that she had available. It was a little different than what I initially had in mind, but based on our conversation about my strengths and interests, she felt it would be a good fit for me. I ended up getting an interview, and eventually made it through all of the interview rounds. Allison was involved at every step in the process. We talked after each interview, and she provided feedback from the company about me, which I found very helpful. When I got past the final interview round, we had a very honest discussion about what I was looking for in terms of an offer. I was contacted shortly thereafter with a great offer, and I decided to take the position! I could tell that Allison was very excited for me, and I feel like she truly cared about my happiness and success. After being in my role for a few weeks, I received a follow-up call from Allison to see how things were going so far. I am so pleased with the follow-up and attentiveness displayed by Allison throughout my experience, and without all of her help I am not sure I would have made it this far! This is a terrible temporary service! As Angela A. stated on 1/18/2012 in her review "These people are extremely rude"!! I received an email last Thursday 1/12/2012 from Megan Hutton in the Chicago office offering me a Part-time position stating "I wanted to reach out to you as you scored exceptionally well on our PowerPoint assessment". I contacted Megan immediately the following morning, only to get the receptionist who transferred me to her, but I had to leave a voicemail. I contacted Megan 3 times that day and only got voice mails - I followed up with email - no answer so on 1/17/2012, I'm still calling, this time, I'm explaining to the receptionist that I've made numerous attempts to contact Megan Hutton and I'm not getting any return phone calls or emails, then the receptionist RUDLEY replies "WELL MS MS THEY"VE BEEN BUSY" and transfers me to her phone AGAIN and ONCE MORE I have to leave a voicemail - later that same day I don't receive a phone call - nooooo - I receive an email stating "Thank you very much for your response; I received your voice mails as well. Our client has decided to put this position on hold for the time being, but I will definitely reach back out to you if they resume their search. Thanks again! Megan" As you can see in her response she says "I received your VOICE MAILS as well" WELL YEAH - I left so darn many!!! And anyone with common sense KNOWS that was BS!!!! I simply replied and told her to check her company reviews (as I should have done before I signed on with them!) they are awful!!!! And I'm sure she did cause you can always tell, sure enough as I'm writing this review, I'm LOL at the Tanya H. review that ALL OF A SUDDEN popped up dated 1/18/2012 - now how fake is that review!!! Wonder how many phone calls they had to make to get somebody to jump on-line and write that one! I had to block them from my Email because companies such as this one, make me sick!!!!! read more

I applied for a job on a website. This job was a dispatcher. I receive a call form a LaSalle representative and she begins to tell me about the position. She then verifies my address and then tells me that she was going to refer me to the downtown Chicago office. I receive an email from the downtown office about a week later and was told about a specific job that pays 15.50/hr. I am told to come in for an interview. I come in and I am told by the representative that there is an opening at this location and that she is just waiting for them to call her back..."In fact", she says, "they may be trying to call me right now'. I am told that I must take an exam and also a typing test. My typing test was within the acceptable range for employment and I also score above 90% on the examination.....I send an email a week later to see if the position is available. I am told that they are still waiting to hear from them. I ask if there is any other job available and I am told that they have a position in Rosemont, Il......I ask for information about this job. There are a few days of phone tag. After I finally reach the representative we discuss the position....I mentioned that I did this type of work about 10 years ago. She asks, "what company" and I share it with her. She then says well, I am sorry, but you can't work for this company because you have worked for them before. . I say, but its a different company. She says, "but it has the same owner, so I can not place you here". I say, "well do you have anything else". Her response (very smug I might add), "we only have jobs for people with Bachelor degrees now and I doubt if the job for 15.50/hr will be opening anytime soon. So I can't help you. I came into contact with LaSalle in January of 2014 after applying for a position on Indeed.com. I went in for an interview at their Loop office the week after and told them I was looking for a job in higher education. I felt I had a lot to offer as a recent college graduate, but was having a hard time getting my resume to stand out to the point of landing interviews. I was convinced that if I could just get the opportunity to sit with someone face-to-face I would be able to show exactly how qualified and ready to work I felt. I received a handful of emails from LaSalle over the next few months, but nothing was in higher education and I was beginning to feel discouraged. However, I know this was not due to lack of effort from LaSalle- they don't specialize in higher ed and I know there are only so many jobs to go around. Finally, an opportunity came up to interview with a university in the Chicagoland area. I interviewed for the position and was hired on as a temp with the opportunity to become permanent after three months! LaSalle gave me the foot in the door I so desperately needed and I've heard several times from my employer that this agency has a great reputation for finding and placing high-quality candidates. My contact at LaSalle, Becky, was particularly supportive in helping me prepare for my interview. Even now as a temp I hear from them often just to make sure everything is going well. I think it's important to note that LaSalle does not hand out jobs to people- it takes a lot of work and is ultimately up to the candidate to stand out. With that being said, the amount of support they offer is incredible, especially considering their services are offered for free. I am beyond grateful for LaSalle Network and would recommend them to anyone looking for a competitive edge in this challenging job market! read more
