Very Disappointing Experience I had a 10:00 AM appointment at LaserAway for a Glow Facial and arrived 15 minutes early. Unfortunately, while I was already there, I received a text informing me that the machine needed for my treatment was not working. I was very disappointed because this meant another day wasted and an unnecessary trip. I don't understand why the equipment wasn't checked beforehand, or why I couldn't have been notified before I made the trip to the appointment. When I arrived, the receptionist offered me a different type of facial and explained that it would be complimentary, mentioning that it was a $400 facial. While I appreciate the gesture, that wasn't the point. The issue is the inconvenience, the time I spent traveling there, and the lack of communication before my appointment. I do want to say that all of the nurses who have performed my treatments have been very nice, professional, and pleasant, and I've had good experiences with them. However, my interaction with the receptionist, Crystal, was disappointing. I feel that she could have been more welcoming, understanding, and friendly when dealing with a frustrated customer. I hope LaserAway improves its communication, equipment checks, and customer service. I had a very disappointing experience with LaserAway. I paid approximately $1,000 for a package of six microneedling sessions on my hands, hoping to improve their appearance. Unfortunately, after completing the treatments, I saw no improvement, and one of my hands actually appears worse than before. I attempted to contact LaserAway three times to discuss my concerns, but no one returned my calls. I eventually went in for an in-person consultation and was told there was nothing they could do other than recommend that I pay for additional treatments. I emailed hello@laseraway.com to file a complaint and request a solution regarding an adverse reaction I had to their Rejuran serum. It's been over three days, and I've received no response. A staff member from the Oakland clinic called and asked me to send photos of my skin for a nurse to review. However, by the time she reached out, I was already on a steroid cream prescribed by my medical provider, and my skin had begun healing. At that point, sending photos felt pointless because I knew I'd just be told everything looked fine. During the call, the staff member was defensive, showed no empathy, and offered no real solution. It felt like they were more interested in protecting themselves than helping a loyal customer. There is a nurse named April who has not been trained properly and does not have the skill to work at her level of practice. She delayed my treatment for an hour; and in this particular case, there was some time sensitivity, which she had no concern for. April, had to call several supervisors to do a procedure that was approved to be done by the regional vice president of the company. . . So April felt the need to call the VP to get instructions that she should have gotten in her standard training. I'm having a tattoo removed @ this location. So far I haven't noticed any changes after my 2 sessions. However I'm told that it can take up to 4 sessions before there's a discernible difference. Treatments are a bit painful but luckily the tattoo I'm removing is small letters, so treatment only lasts about 30 seconds! Also want to mention that the front desk secretary, Keisha is AMAZING! My new favorite Laser Away Location! I'm almost tempted not to share my go to favorite nurse - for the simple fact that she is always booked and I don't want to make it harder for me to book her. (: But what kind of Yelper would I be? Ari and her staff are top tier. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with a warm welcome. They have a comfortable sitting area. Once Ari and her team was ready for me, I was taken to the back to my room. I love that's everything was clean and set up. I felt they were prepared for me. They showed attention to detail to my pain tolerance and body language. Which I'm sure we all can agree is going above and beyond. No one ever reached out. Additionally, this occurred on my 6th session. I paid for a total of 8 sessions. All i wanted was for them to reimburse me for the 6th, 7th and 8th, as obviously I did not want to continue my treatment. They told me no they could only reimburse me for the one that I got burnt at. Do your own research and take this seriously, it's your skin!! and they truly only care about turning a profit. and it's been a month since this occurred and the scar is very much there. It's at least 3-4 inches. It'll likely take 2-3 years to heal (hopefully). And LaserAway gave me $250 for the one session and said "good luck" lol. I'll have to pay for my own hyperpigmentation cream for a long time. The incompetent clinician is at fault since she used the wrong laser. But also corporate and managers are at fault for not handling this correctly. I asked for 3 sessions reimbursement, I should've asked for the whole thing refunded! At first, they advertised their services in a very appealing way, which led me to purchase a package. However, instead of achieving the smooth skin I expected, my hair has become thicker, darker, and coarser--almost like men's hair. I feel deceived by their marketing and promises.
