Before - with my natural tiny thin lashes

I've gotten my lashes done by various people for years now, and Trisha is BY FAR the absolute best last extension expert I've ever experienced. You barely feel her applying the lashes- no heavy hands planted on head and I've never any discomfort whatsoever. Trisha goes above and beyond to apply every single lash possible for the most full look (even though I just get the classic lashes), they always look both natural and perfect, and the best part? They last a good 5-6 weeks before they even start looking like they need a fill. I recently moved away to California and it has been a huuuuuge struggle to find anyone as good as Trisha. Even in MN, I had experienced 4 other lash extension places and none gave me such great results as Trisha. In California I went to 2 different places where my lashes only lasted about 1-2 weeks, and the people tried to tell me it was because of the "California heat." I had to fly back to MN in May 2020 for family reasons and made sure I made and appointment with her while I was in MN before I flew back to California. Surprise surprise, no problems with "California heat" with Trisha's lashes! 4 weeks later and they still look pretty close to the day I first got them done. Trisha is taking proper COVID precautions with less appointments, cleaning everything in between clients, wearing masks and I felt 100% safe during the process. I used to work in Infectious Disease so I am familiar with proper procedures and agreed with everything Trisha did during my visit. Trisha is also a very lovely and sweet person and I'm sure she would address any additional concerns/questions if you had them. Seriously, even if it's a drive for you to get to Trisha, I'm here to tell you that it's 100% worth it to book an appointment with her. You really won't find anyone better in the twin cities - her lash application technique is top-notch and your lashes will last a very long time. Trisha is just the best!

Beth was my tattoo artist, and I can't say enough about her cleanliness. She wiped down and cleaned her hands throughout my tattoo. She was down to earth, knowledgeable, skilled, and made me feel comfortable the entire time. The lines are clean, the color looks amazing, and the tattoo looks so good. It was a pleasure to be tattooed by her. What I also like is the guarantee for a touch-up after healed. The studio is clean, well designed, and the artist has their own private room. Definitely good vibes here. Recommend? Absolutely!

It's very inviting & has an awesome vibe that's laid back and welcoming. We're currently working on my fifth tattoo which will be my biggest one so far. Beth has been incredibly kind and patient with me, even creating an entirely new drawing after I didn't love the first one. Beth is not only talented, but she fully understand the importance of a tattoo being a lifelong commitment therefore she want you to be more than satisfied with her work. She strives for perfection and in my case she has exceeded perfection. If you don't care for the first drawing, she will do as many more as it takes until you not only approve of it, but are in LOVE with it! Famous last words: "this will be my last one"... whether it's my last or not will remain to be seen, but I can say with certainty no matter how many more I get they will all be done at Gabe's by Beth.

I made all of my 2026 appts in January 2026 so I had the appts I needed for the year. I go in approximately every 6 weeks. In March I made it for my Birthday so I would have my hair done for celebrating. The receptionist calls to cancel my appointment because my stylist is going on an unplanned vacation (one of their kids gave them the trip as a gift for Christmas so why did they even schedule my appt in March if they knew in December they would be gone) and doesn't even try to fit me in, just says I can schedule with another stylist. Let me add to this that I have extremely difficult hair to cut and style. Not just "anyone" can do it. So I'm left high and dry for my Birthday. Now I have a June 1st appt scheduled and I find out today, May 26, that another vacation has taken priority over my appt and again they cannot fit me in before he leaves. When someone charges $108 for a haircut you expect some professionalism and customer service. Could the stylist call and try to fit me in? Nope. Makes the receptionist do his dirty work. Maybe he should just retire and vacation all he wants rather than make appts he doesn't keep. He never used to do until this last year. I am finding there are much friendlier, very talented and more customer service oriented salons in White Bear than this one and they aren't as expensive. Would not recommend based on the non existent concern about their clients schedules/needs. Overpriced for what you don't get in my opinion.

I would go to MDV over and over again! I would recommend her to anyone! She's so talented! I don't know why people would ever think she would gas light, manipulate her clients! MDV has always told me hand tattoos do not heal well and so I never gotten hand or finger tattoos due to that Nature! Those who feel that she isn't professional enough or felt manipulated needs to be educated on how to listen better.

My peers couldn't tell if it was old henna or an old doodle I did myself with pen and tried to wash off. It was so incredibly embarrassing. I went in full trust to a LICENSED tattoo artist that trains others to become licensed artists yet I was did so dirty. She shouldn't be teaching others how to tattoo when she can't even do it properly herself and even just give good customer service. She did not care about me as her client what so ever. I hate looking at my hand being so badly marked up and the fact I have to walk around in public with people agreeing my artist did an awful job. When I got it touched up about 3ish weeks later my tattoo artist looked at my hand and said "oh my god it looks so beautiful! It retained so well! This is normal but the lines are beautiful" I'm not sure if she was complimenting my skin or the tattoo that was barely there. The touch up made the tattoo look way better from the start it was so pretty until it faded so badly AGAIN. I was charged almost a whole month's worth of rent and had tipped SO incredibly well that even the artist had said I tipped too well and asked if I wanted to come back and getting money back, to give a smaller tip. Seeing what the art turned out to be and fading so badly so quickly, I agree I should have tipped less. I never once got an apology and the artist refused to give me any sort of a refund. This has been THE WORST tattoo experience I have ever gone through. I have fine line tattoos and not ONCE did they fade this quickly and this badly or needed any touch ups. I have friends that have incredible beautiful fine line tattoos on their hands and fingers and feet and not once have yet needed to get a touch up. A tattoo shouldn't need to be touched up a WEEK after you got it done and the touch up shouldn't need a touch up! That's what the touch up is for. The fact that she tried to gaslight me saying it's normal for the healing process, needing multiple touch ups, which it's not normal at all. I was gaslight and made to feel like I was the problem. My needs were not satisfied and my artist was inconsiderate towards my feelings, again never apologized for anything. She never took any accountability and showed no remorse for my unsatisfied needs with her awful work. And when she was pretty much blaming me when I contacted the artist about this she didn't even spell my name correctly! So rude! She truly just didn't care at all. She made no effort at all to try and help me out. The artist did a VERY bad job with wrapping the tattoo and it had came off like the next day, pretty much blamed me for the healing process. "For all I know after care could've also not been followed". I have multiple tattoos and take care of them VERY well. For the touch up the artist said "I'm going to use a different wrap and see if that helps it stay better" what would help is to tattoo to an appropriate depth in the skin. Adding a second skin on top isn't the factor of "the ink will stay if it's on. if it comes off the tattoo will disappear" that makes no sense what so ever. And to top it all off my ID was never looked at and I was never told or offered to sign any consent forms what so ever which is so sketchy and also just so unprofessional. The pictures I'm attaching are going to show the progress of the tattoo. When it first got done, a week healed, right before it got touched up, post touch up, and week healed after the touch up. I do not recommend getting any service done here especially done by Mai Dao Vang

According to my eye lash tech, Sonia, these don't last as long as the regular glue. I thought it lasted pretty long for what I needed them for. It also made it so I didn't need as much eye makeup. Which was great since I cried at my wedding lol

TLDR: tech used chemical to remove eyelash burned/irritated my eye/effects vision, cornea was…read morescratched while getting new set of eyelashes, owner would not refund service charge over $120 (after less than 12 hrs of new lashes and severe pain/burning) although she admitted employee was negligent and required more training, moreover, stated removal/new set should not be done same day. Overall, only offered measly 15% discount 'next time' for harm done. Long version: I really wanted to like this place. It was close to home, had an asian owner, and I had a decent experience my first time around just one month ago---so I thought it would be okay the second time around...I had just come back from a vacation and had just a few lashes left from my first round-thought it was fine to do a removal and new set put in on the same day. I went to the same tech as before and everything seemed okay...until it just wasn't. During the eyelash removal - with absolutely no warning I got a piercing, burning feeling in my eyes - I asked if this was normal and she just laughed and handed me a fan then continued letting me feel searing pain during the whole 30 min of removal. Next came the new set of lashes which burned, itched, and my eyes were full of discharge...the tech this was fine and i paid, left a good tip and left. On my drive home, my eyes were red, itchy, burning and full of discharge. My vision was also pretty blurry and sensitive to light. All throughout the night my eyes felt painful and itchy (but no water for 24-48 hrs so...I abided by that rule). Fast forward to the next morning (less than 12 hrs after I got the new set) and I called in to see if they could just get the lashes off of my eyes (since the pain and everything didn't seem worth it to me anymore and quite frankly I just wanted my money back---which for the amt of pain and the money I paid I thought this was a feasible task--nope I was wrong). The owner (Sonia) offered to remove them and stated that her technician who did my lashes had already gotten reprimanded in the past for the same exact issue with a different client and said "I will talk to her she shouldn't have done a removal and new set on one day, she should have communicated better during the whole session, should have been careful while using tape as it seems you got a scratch on your cornea from the tech, should have rinsed the removal product properly after removing the eyelashes and had you use water and soap to rinse your eyelids after the removal" - this is a direct quote of what she stated to me (essentially she apologized that her tech didn't follow procedures as they should have been and that my eyes looked super irritated and frankly very harmed). I waited for her to say more...but then she just told me to lay down for the lash removal. I then asked if I could have a full refund since I didn't even get to enjoy my second set of lashes fully (and with tip it was about $120) --after all the previous apologizing for her technician's bad technique I thought this was reasonable of me to ask. She then hit me with a 'no because you knew the risk and my tech should be paid for her time she took' (no I signed the consent form for Covid risk--not for going through searing pain and feeling as though I was going blind...much less get a scratch on my cornea from the tape that her tech used during the process of putting the new extensions on...so no-I did not ask for those risks. Additionally, I'm a paying customer who also took time out of her weekend to get damage to her eye in the end) - she then started to tell me I just have sensitive eyes and how I should have said something (I did state I have sensitive eyelids and that I have had allergies to lash glue on the info form I filled on my first visit), how I need to choose a diff tech next time, how I should not have done a removal and new set in a day (ok yah you guys could have told me that before I made an appt to do it then? Or maybe don't have that as a choice on your menu of services?) and how I can get a 15 percent discount (yay....) and she will not charge me for the removal cost (removing lashes that caused ME eye damage and an infection...). Overall, please save yourself the nightmare of a day I have had today running around trying to find an optometrist to look at the damage done to my eye. I have now been prescribed antibiotic drops to help it heal and am 120 dollars short for less than 12 hr lash extensions. Will not be going back.
