A seasoned veteran of therapeutic massage, I am not easily impressed. However, today I was. The therapist I was assigned (Dao is her name) did a very good job. She was personable, questioning me about the process all along. She altered her pressure on request, as she learned how much I could take. Her overall technique was very good, and I very much liked the combination of traditional massage techniques tied with Thai stretching/range of motion work. I wasn't impressed by their 'music', however. The first time I've ever heard 'elevator' massage music. There were actually lyrics ! Not good....didn't ruin it, it was just odd. I went to use the restroom and then sat in the waiting area for a minute or so, until LaRina came to get me. In the past for massages I've laid on my belly but I can't do that since I'm pregnant, so they had me lay on my side with a maternity-esque pillow on my legs. The massage as a whole was relaxing, but when I had to turn on my other side, I felt like I was slipping off the massage table a bit, even though I adjusted myself a few times. I'm not sure how much the massage was, since mine was a gift, but I think it was about $100-120, for one hour, although mine ran about 55 minutes. However, I know in the past MassageLuxe has had Groupons and other deals, so I would check those as well.

I called yesterday to unfreeze my account, since I was informed when I signed up that I can be charged a monthly fee of $5 that would go as a credit towards my account, and to my surprise they changed that policy. Instead I opted to just cancel my membership since I already have a 1 hr credit on my account. I was informed by THIS LOCATION that I would be able to use my credit as long as its within the 60 day window. No problem! However, when I booked a massage for a closer location to use my credit, West Bloomfield location called me today and said i cant use my credit anymore bc my account is frozen and canceled. How can u take my $80 and say i have a credit to use then turn around and say I cant use it unless I UNFREEZE my account and pay an ADDITIONAL $80? What sense does that make? At this point, I regret spending all the money Ive spent at your location and I should have never signed up with you had I'd known you would STEAL from me! Thats exactly what that is.. stealing because i already paid for it. Im addition, I took down the last bad review because you asked me to after your staff mishandled that situation, but this review will NOT be taken down unless I get my money back. The location was extremely clean, quiet, and large. There is parking outside so that was really nice.
