I decided this year that it was time to get it done. I did LOTS of research on service providers in my area and saw that Hartmans Septic had many positive reviews. I contacted the company via email and Gary (the owner) contacted me back very quickly. Communications were great and he got out to my home on the date agreed and on time. Even though he had difficulty locating the tank cover due to a number of obsticals in his way (a lavender tree, sidewalk, and a really big landscaping rock), he was diligent and found the main cover. The amount of work he performed do do this was truly above and beyond what I expected, yet he didn't charge me any extra at all for all that work. Gary's report on my system was extensive outlining all of the potential issues with septic fields, and showing the results of his inspection (before, during and after pumping). I am certain that many "professionals" would have simply come, dug up and removed the cover (charging me extra for the effort), and pumped out the water. Gary took his time mechanically cleaning the tank of all solid and caked on bottom sludge as well as water lancing the tank to ensure it was completely clean. When he was done, he replaced the dirt, the landscape weed barrier and mulch leaving the work area in the exact shape it was when he showed up. Gary took time to go over the inspection results with me as he told me about the many different septic system failures that he has found over the years, and how he checks for these failures in the system. I am a senior engineer and a Navy vet. I really appreciated Gary's knowledge and his great inspection expertise left me with a very good feeling that my home septic system will operate for many many years in the future. All of this was done at a very competitive price. To top it all off, you really couldn't as for a nicer guy to deal with. You really can't go wrong with Hartmans Septic.

The driver/technician left the covers on…read moreour tanks damaged - driver screwed several lid screws through the base and left with several screws missing and us needing two new lids. I called the office and explained the issue and was promised the issues would be resolved. The company did not come out to fix the issue and we never heard from them again. Poor job and no concern after they get paid. Small note - the driver sat in our driveway for 15 minutes with his shirt off - not that big of a big deal but amateurish and unprofessional and a bit gross.

I explained I wanted to be home when tank was serviced was told I would get a text one hour before they would be here. Waited all day no call no text, called at 4pm only to be told they would not be out until Wednesday morning. The storms came in July and trees dropped everywhere, power was out. Our Electric Company came out to restore power and restring power lines where trees took them out. You would think they would see the Universal Septic sign I put right over the tank and field but they didn't, they drove right over the tank. I called Eric for help, he came out and saw the tank was crushed. He gave me a replacement estimate really fast, after all the communication was completed, he installed the new tank in just a few days.
