GreenSprings Market & Deli - Turkey and cheese on white, simple sandwich but fresh and delicious!

Can't even get pastrami at the chain sub shops these days. It was freshly made to order with my selection of toppings. Reasonable price, too. I'll definitely be back.

We were driving thru town, looking for a deli sandwich. Any place we could get a good sandwich quickly, to get back on the road quickly, that wasn't yet another fast food place. I had a simple turkey and cheese on white. I can't describe quite why it was so good. Maybe it was just very, very fresh, and prepared exactly how I ordered it. No one overthought it or gentrified it or anything like that. They did the thing they do, and they did that thing well. My wife had a roast beef sandwich and it was the same story. Not sure why it was as good as it was, except that it was fresh and didn't have a bunch of extra toppings or "accoutrement" she didn't want. Even though this is clearly a very local establishment, they were friendly to us, and the bathroom was clean. We ended up buying some other supplies from the convenience store section, saving a stop. Plenty of parking on the side of the store and fairly easy to get back to the highway. Definitely worth a stop for provisions.

A Leap of Taste was one of the few spots open, and after seeing all the great reviews, we decided to give it a try. The ambiance is really cute and cozy -- lots of decor, lighting, and seating that makes it feel welcoming and comfortable. Service was also quick and friendly, which we appreciated. We ordered the Green Machine smoothie and a matcha, and both were really good and definitely a highlight of our visit. Where the experience fell a bit short for us was the food. While the presentation was great, the taste didn't quite match expectations. The breakfast tacos listed potatoes, but they ended up being more like tater tots, and the tortillas weren't warm -- my friend wasn't very fond of them. I ordered the #5 sandwich, which was described as being on jalapeño toast, but it came on regular toast instead, along with a pickle on the side. The sandwich itself was okay -- not bad, but something I could easily make at home. For the two drinks and two food items, we paid around $40, which felt a bit high considering the overall food experience. I can see why this place is well-loved by locals -- it fits the neighborhood vibe and likely appeals to the regular crowd -- but as visitors, the food didn't quite live up to the hype for us. Overall, it's a cute spot with great drinks, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere. I'd probably come back for beverages, but I'd skip the food next time

We discovered Giardiniera there and fell in love with how it brightened the sandwich. The service was great - she looked up who supplied their Gluten Free bread and sold some to us. Our favorite Italian beef sandwich spot closed down a few years ago. This place is strictly outdoor seating but they have fans and shading for the warmer weather and heaters for the cooler weather. We got there within an hour of opening and wasnt very busy but the crowds did come and go in waves. Assuming this place is very busy during the week as its across from the College. The sandwich was delicious. Nice crusty bread that holds up to the meat and au jus dip thats by default served on the side. Comes with a bag of regular salted chips and a pickle. Meat quantity wasnt thin or alternately packed but it was tasty. The giardinnera was SPICY but flavorful. Next time will absolutely ask for the sandwich to be dipped (you can also get cheese but why? And I love cheese... but no) We paired our sandwiches with a beer and enjoyed the people watching. They get a wide array of clientele. Will be back!
