Very clean and well organized Daiso considering it's location in a super busy and touristy urban…read morearea that is Little Tokyo. I'd have to say it's a bit more organized than the SF Japantown location, at least the last time I visited and the AC was super good too, which is great. It's located in the Galleria mall on the first floor and despite it being a super rainy day and LTFM event going on at the same time, all things were good. There was a line to check out and a good number of customers but cashiers were super efficient and we were able to check out fairly quickly. They also validate parking here. Strangely said no to one friend but validated it when another friend checked out but whatever. Lots of cute items here, already fully stocked with Halloween goods. Good amount of home goods and office supplies/stationery, storage, cleaning goods, there was even oshikatsu goods (perfect if you're getting anime goods in Little Tokyo), and they even had Piske and Usagi merch here (haven't seen them in awhile). The only thing I was sad about was that I immediately saw their Daizo mascot x Hello Kitty so I thought there was collab merch, but there wasn't any at all. I really hope they do sell merch of him in the stores one day. Standard affordable prices for Daiso. Unless it's marked for clearance, most things are rounded up towards $2+.

I get that it's close to closing but the whole store dark for more than 15 minutes? This highkey the worst Daiso. Left without buying anything cause im not about to use a flashlight just to shop. That girl on the intercom was so rude frfr too It was NOT busy enough to be doing that there was like maybe 2 other groups in the store.

Hidden Gem Alert!…read more Attention hobbyists and gift givers: Neo Happyland might just be your new happy place. Circumstances brought me to this unique and fun store that is practically hidden on the first floor of what appeared to be an abandoned mall in Chinatown, the Bamboo Plaza. Had I not known about this store and its location before visiting, I probably would not have entered the plaza. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by Natalie one of the store owners. I then met with Alan, her husband and co-owner. Both were super personable, friendly and knowledgeable. I overheard them conversing about some of the products with other customers in the store. They really knew their product. The store was jampacked with products from floor to ceiling. I was overwhelmed with how much there was to see. There were so many different model kits to choose from (Pokemon, Bandai, Gundam, etc.). They also had figurines, model paint, books, stickers, Gundam decals, Book Nook and Wonderland items, Pokemon Mini Building Blocks, other building blocks, DVDs and other fun items. Everything was well stocked and neatly organized. I appreciated that most of the items were displayed behind glass so that you could see the actual product vs just looking at the picture on the box. Even though I am an adult, I felt like a kid in a candy store. I did not leave empty-handed. :) If you're looking for a wonderful brick and mortar hobby shop with Asian flair, I highly recommend this shop.

Really Great Store and Hidden Gem I shopped in years every time I visit Los Angeles…read more Staff there is very down to earth and kind. But this store has a variety of selection such as Chogokins, Gunpla, Prize Figs, Construction Kits, Etc... Prices there are very reasonable too, honestly, I prefer going to this store compared to places like Jungle or Robot4Less due to price reasons. I would absolutely recommend this store for those who are in the hobby or starting to get into a hobby.

As I've stated plenty of times I'm a bit of a whore for all things housewares…read more Add to the equation, multiple little stores packed to the ceiling with all sorts of goodies and I'm in heaven. My Linh (the owner) owns/runs several shops inside a center on Spring Street. Pretty much the majority are into home goods, and hers is no exception. An endless array of pots and pans, woks, rice cookers and brooms greet the passerby inside. Her stores feature much the same, along with the odds and ends that make it easy to spend a lot of time pouring over everything from business card holders to tweezers and pain patches. I'm not sure how she is able move about in a couple parts, as it is so freaking packed, and somewhat precariously too. I wouldn't recommend certain items though, I noticed lately that much of the cookware is aluminum, and for those of you who don't know, steel is preferable...not just for durability, but for health reasons. So if you plan to look for cookware, snap your finger against the sides and look underneath. The rice cookers tend to be Tiger, and while it's OK, I'd hold out for Cuckoo or Zojirushi. Truthfully I'd rather write a review for the center itself, all the shops are selling much the same items, with a few notable exceptions, but anyway I digress. Prices here are extremely inexpensive. I picked up a dozen thick plastic hangers for $2, and routinely by other items for not much more. Speak carefully here as a good majority of the ladies here speak almost no English whatsoever. Well, no real conversational English. However, you will find that they are helpful and will go out of their way to help you find what you want, and again, the prices are super inexpensive.

L.A. Chinatown Firecracker 5/10K Run/Walk & Bike Ride event has been held here for the last 48 years in celebration of Lunar New Year and in support of the L.A. local communities. I participated in this event for the past 3 years starting with the 2024 Year of the Dragon. I intend to participate in this event every year from here on out. It's such a fun and festive activity for all ages. Come join us! Most of the original business shops have closed. A few of them still remain. It's not as crowded as it was back in the days. Still nice to stroll through the walkways to reminisce the good times. Some of the buildings exterior appears to be original. The colorful Chinese gateway entrance is a bit dated. Hope they restore it soon. A visit to L.A. must include a visit to this iconic plaza. May you find great restaurants and good shops. Enjoy a peaceful morning with a hot cup of coffee or tea from Thank You Coffee, a delightful egg tart from Wonder Bakery, plus a light and crispy sugar butterfly aka danzan from Phoenix Bakery, while sitting at the bench and people watching. End your afternoon with a nice walk around the plaza and its surrounding area. Don't forget to snap a beautiful selfie with our famous Bruce Lee (statue). Have a wonderful visit! P.S. Will post photos later. Thank you.

There are also several gift shops and couple of restaurants as well. Street parkings are available on both streets bordering the plaza. We went to plaza in the afternoon on a weekday. Only few other tourists like us were walking around. All the gift shops were open but had zero customers. There were also couple of homeless people hanging around too. We went to see the Bruce Lee statues and stopped by couple of those gift shops. But overall, it seemed a very disappointing spot.
