OFFICE SUPPLY-CENTRIC w/ a capital O. I'm really surprised with this Daiso, it used to have a variety of items. I came in looking for hygiene items, general care products, and decent snacks and found none. The only bright spot was that I found an incredible tote, amazing coffee, and cheap sandals (I ended up throwing them). The Daiso is very clean, as other locations are, but I felt like it was hard to find stuff on this visit. I used to visit this location often with family but it's gone downhill over the years. It's accessible being in the Little Tokyo Mall but it's not my first choice for shopping. Service was ok... I felt like there was a clique vibe amongst the staff except the quiet girl at the register. There was a lot of whispering and gossiping happening, didn't care for that. read more

This is the largest of this store location I've ever been to, but I don't know if there's larger ones than this. It's on the ground floor within a three-story mall. Wonderful Daiso! This store is a large location. It's a great place to buy inexpensive but nice small items; they have a wide selection of household goods, toiletries, toys, kitchen ware, stationary, crafts, stickers, gift wrapping items, Japanese snacks and drinks. They have some Disney and Sanrio brand items as well. So cute! Their prices are posted with the yen conversion, throughout the store. The items are high quality and cute. Their bigger household items are priced as marked. I noticed recently their holiday goods went on sale after the holiday as well. A lot of fun gift items or ideas for favor bags. Located in the Little Tokyo Market Place in Los Angeles, this instance of Daiso (Japanese version of a dollar store...100 yen) was fully stocked and not too crowded, allowing us time to peruse every aisle independently. As I've noticed, Daiso sells food now, but at higher prices than what you can get at a Japanese grocery store. But where they shine are Japanese themed items (Sanrio is prevalent here though sadly Nintendo is not). For whatever reason, I've started to only buy my kitchen storage bags (e.g. freezer bags) here so stocked up on that. I love a good Daiso experience. Much higher quality merchandise than you'd find at a dollar store (or the now curiously named "99" Store) for only a slight increase in price. Like most Daisos, this store is tidy and easy to navigate. And along with loads of practical housewares such as kitchen tools, glassware and writing implements, you can also find awesome specifically Japanese merch. At this location alone I've found a beautiful paper and wood fan, a sweater for my cat, a load of beauty products (lots of masks!), and fun Japanese snacks and beverages. I always find something that grabs my attention...and I'm usually surprised at how inexpensive it is. I've had fine experience with the employees, who have been helpful in directing me to the various goods in the store and the lines are typically short and they process you quickly and efficiently. I go here a lot but today at 11:21am Daiso let me down with their service at the cashier. Cashier # xxxxxxx9609, she gave me a bad attitude for correcting her that I needed a bag and she tried to short change me. I told her I wanted a bag in the beginning of the transaction and she ignores me, at the end of the transaction I told her where's the bag. So I bought a paper bag for $0.20, and I gave her $1, she give me $0.10 change. So I told her she gave me the wrong change. Her body language changes and starts grabbing a bunch of coins aggressively, then she realized she was about to give me more change, and dumped all the coins bad and gave me the correct amount. But she threw the coins at my hand. She was polite in front of my husband and kids, but when I caught her with 2 wrongs she became rude and had a bad attitude. I don't think I wanna come back here. Daiso needs to train their cashiers on ethics. read more

Daiso is basically the Japanese version of the 99 cent store. Prices may vary depending on the item, but are usually a good deal for the quality. Don't get me wrong, these are not luxury items, but you will most certainly get great value. Daiso most likely has anything you need for everyday living, from kitchenware to stationary and even some snacks. Daiso is located in the Little Tokyo Galleria mall right next to market on the first floor. Parking in the garage is free with validation for a certain amount of time (I can't remember how long), so don't forget to validate your parking ticket at Daiso. I also don't remember the maximum number of validations the garage will accept on your parking ticket, but I do know that after a period amount of time, you have time pay for parking no matter how many validations you have, which is kind of annoying. read more

All the Japanese Daiso stores have bad services. First no returns, no EBT cards use and no bathrooms for customers. On top of that they are trying to cheat us tax when you are at the register they ask you whether you wanna receipt or not, so Ialways say yes, because I know they are trying to cheat US tax. read more

This store is awesome. Beware! You will buy things you didn't even know you needed! They offer lots of items for everyone. They have kids, beauty, home, etc. I usually buy home goods and school items here for my kids. They have plenty of different notebooks, pens, erasers etc. I also get my lunch items from here. Visiting Daiso is like going on a treasure hunt. Every Daiso has something a little bit different. This Daiso is no different. I was happy to find the shelves well stocked and organized. There were lots of "made in Japan" items which I like. Namely, plastic bins for my pantry, cleaning supplies, and drain covers. Let's just say I found lots of goodies to take home. Score! Shopping deals in Little Tokyo in Los Angeles... Located inside the Little Tokyo Mall, this Daiso doesn't disappoint! I somehow found cute knick knacks for my nieces and sisters and a toy for my nephew! Browsing through the office supplies, I can found something for my clerk! I think the socks that you can wear with flip flops are cool and the snacks are fun and different! I like the household items and sometimes the health and beauty sections have a useful item that I could use! Some stores run out of certain merchandise faster than others. I went to several locations to look for chestnuts for my friend, Emi... Sadly, there were none here... On another occasion, I looked for black q-tips for my cousin! I am obsessed w Daiso! :) love coming here for random knick knacks! I always intend to buy one thing and then I walk out w like 10 items... sigh. Anyhoo~ I went on Saturday and they were open (during COVID times). Everything in the store seemed normal stocked - w the usual cosmetic, cleaning, kitchen, gardening, stationary, toys, art and supplies, plates, etc. sections. There's seriously everything here. During normal business (pre-pandemic), they validate parking for you for the structure. Now, the structure is just open without validation, so that's kind of nice. read more

For those who know, Daiso is the ultimate discount goods shop. Unfortunately, most are quite far away from the landlocked IE, so generally I go to the location in Chino Hills. If there is a general headquarters flagship for the chain I'd have to say this location fits the bill. The first thing I noticed from my previous visit was the signs saying everything costs $1.50. Wow! No price checks! This location is also larger than some and well organized and stocked. From caddies for remotes to hangers or sushi rice bowls and chopsticks, Daiso is the best place. The little knickknacks are also fun to browse, as an alternative to ordinary dollar stores, keep your options open if you see a Daiso in the future. read more

What can I say? I LOVE Daiso! I'm soooo glad that they are reopen and that they are still taking some precautions with Covid-19. In California, pretty much everything is open and everything is almost like it was before the pandemic but for me personally, it's not over... We are doing much better but we are definitely not over the pandemic. So yes I still wear a mask when I go out and it was great to see that they still required masks in the store. Social distancing was not enforced but masks were still required. Let me get on with the review. This was my first time at this location and well I went because I wanted to get some storage items and what better place then Daiso! Well as always, I got totally distracted and ended up buying things that I didn't know I needed as I did my favorite type of shopping at Daiso... Aisle by aisle! How else are you going to know if you need something if you don't see it...duh! LOL ;P They were lots of workers there but that were quite busy restocking the shelves. But it was nice to just browse and look without getting bothered either. If you have a policy in place that requires shoppers to leave their belongings at the front entrance (with no means of security to ensure my property is not collected by another party), please ensure that this policy applies to ALL customers. No one else was asked to leave their belongings upon entry while we were there. In fact, many people shopped with large tote bags and plastic bags similar to mine. It seems the guard at the front selectively decides who is subject to this rule- there is signage visible indicating we may be asked to do so. LOVED IT! I'm a Daiso Fan, so my expectations for this store located in Little Tokio were high, I was not disappointed!! Specially the souvenir and traveling sections are great, lots of options! I liked the illumination of the store, it was nice and bright. The price is much better on some household items if you compare with the Japanese grocery stores around. And the quality is literally the same. Employees are nice and helpful, they have hand sanitizer available. A place I'm planning to visit again. read more

I don't know how Daiso headquarter made like this super disappointing branch. This is little Tokyo right? I want to ask how do they training customer service for them. I highly recommend changing the employees from Sawtelle blanch. (Sawtelle blanch employees are perfect services) There often has empty products that I can understand because Cavit 19 made difficult for import from outside of countries. So I needed come to check every time coming Little Tokyo. Because a manager said they don't know when is that product coming on sale again. YES!! I left my number with my business card for let me know when they got restitution. But they never called me and I saw several times they had those products but already sold out. When I come to check what is that products available, I requested a stamp for parking validation. Because I can't sopping and waisted my money for every time just checking products abilities. Shop employee said "No, you have to stop minimum price for parking validation. This is our shop priority". All of next customers made line were complaining about it. Yes, all customers were understood my situation then everybody were side on me. But that register employee didn't accepted and keep strongly said "YOU HAVE TO SHOPPING OTHERWISE I DON'T GIVE YOU STAMP!!". I know we don't need a validation stamp if we exit in 10min that I got by parking security after that. When I bought some products today, I was little bit in the hurry for my business. I requested rushing for check for register man(HIS NAME IS HECTOR". He put 12 same products into the bag one by one very slow. He was definitely working slow just to spite me. I reported that to manager, but they were not serious. This blanch has too many awful service problems. Change the manager and retraining all the stuff what is customer service. Daiso Japan is like the Dollar Store, however, most of their items are under a $1.50. This particular location is located in the Tokyo Galleria - we were able to snag a free metered-parking that was still running, right outside the parking deck! This place is very bright and pink, and had a variety of items, such as snacks, kitchen, home decor, beauty products, accessories, toys, stationery, and little gifts. I feel as if the other Daiso locations might have more of a selection, as this, having many quantities of each items, the selection seemed to be at a minimal. Obsessed! Seriously. I've visited this location twice this week. I came back a second time because there were so many things I regret not picking up the first time and had to come back for them. Everything is so cute and inexpensive! I could easily spend an hour browsing all the adorable stationary, food storage, snacks and beauty supplies. I'll post some pictures of my haul but they've got some cute disney items in and I couldn't help myself. I've been to other daiso locations and I think this by far has the cutest selection of products. The staff is super friendly and the store is organized and cleaned. Both occasions I visited, I noticed the staff stocking a the shelves and putting items back in their spots. Tip though, make sure you bring in your parking slip to get it validated. You get two hours free with ANY purchase. Learn from my mistake because they wouldn't take my receipt as proof and I paid $8 for parking for an hour. Not daiso's fault at all. But upon visiting this location, I saw all the amazing snacks and I went crazy! And everything is so cheap! I think I bought 5 or 6 items of chips and cookies for under $7.50 not too shabby! The security guard racially profiled my mom because shes dark and looks black. He subtly followed her around the store and once she got to the cashier to pay for her items he stopped following her and went back to the front of the store as he should of been. I wasn't walking with my mom since I was looking at different aisles while I was also observing. I have a light complexion and pass as asian so he didn't follow me. My mom didn't notice since she was busy but I did. It's not right for the security guard to suspect she's gonna steal just cause of the way she looks. Never coming back here again. Cheap Japanese everyday items... what's not to love? I come to Daiso so often that I feel like I know every item that they have in the store. That being said, I gave it a four star because there's not much novelty for me anymore. There are the occasional holiday themed items but really they don't have a lot of new stuff, and each time I come it's a little bit less exciting... diminishing marginal return at its best. They are overcharging on unmarked items. Picked up several items at store as I was rung up I noticed that one of my items was ringing up higher than the other items. The cashier or mgr on duty acknowledged the pricing error and would not honor the incorrect pricing listed on the item which is a huge issue. If there's no sticker or clear pricing of the item with the yen symbol it's 1.50 but she refused to sell me the items I picked up or adjust the price me knowingly not trying to make a scene left angry at the experience being rip off. The store number does not work at all and mo possible way to contact corporate. All I can do is file a weights and measures report. Little tokyo mall is just a name with abandoned shops. I heard about Daiso stores from a youtuber I watch but we don't have them where I'm from so when I found out there was one in LA I knew I had to visit when I was in town. We walked from the Little Tokyo Mall. We had parked there to check out the mall at first but then I looked up how close Daiso was and we just decided to walk. It probably took about 10/15 minutes to get there on foot. You can get your parking validated though if you park in the parking garage attached to Daiso and the other shoppes there. The store was so cute. It was like visiting a real life Epcot Japan Pavilion but everything was reasonably priced and I will actually use some of this stuff (other stuff... not so much). The prices are great for so much being a $1.50. I bought a couple of halloween things for 3 dollars. The cashiers are so nice they ask you if the extra price is okay. Which honestly... if I was buying that at home goods or hobby lobby the price probably would have been at least 4 times that just because. I grabbed some random cleaning sponges and a couple of reusable bags. I couldn't leave the store of course without getting some Pocky! Even though they do sell it at Costco by my house. I wish I had one close to me because I would go back and grab some bigger items to help organize my house... but I can't fit those in my suitcase. Oh well...
