I had to cancel my son's birthday party due to a very contagious virus he caught at preschool. I notified CalJump of this cancellation more than 72 hours in advance and they still have yet to process my refund despite written confirmation that they had. I have tried contacting their business numerous times via call and text and have either been ignored or told that the manager would check on it. If you do purchase their services, be sure to pay with credit in the case you need to cancel your event. They will reverse the charges for you if CalJump does not honor their refund policy.

I just bought my wedding paper lanterns from www.Jadetime.com after researching it for over 4 weeks. I found that they had the best prices in Los Angeles and online. I went to the store to see the colors they had WOW WOW WOW. They have over 50 different colors and sizes. I don't think I've ever seen lanterns that big and small. After checking out so many places I knew I had found the BEST place to purchase them. I ended up buying the lanterns through their online shop because I didn't feel like driving back and because the price was a little less, but with shipping and handling factored in, the bottom line was pretty much the same. I had my fur.baby with me in her stroller and was afraid they weren't dog friendly but they were and the 3 ladies in the store welcomed her yapping as I shopped around. They actually loved her! Their genuine customer service made me pull the trigger on a purchase. I came here to this store specifically for these large size emerald back mahjong. I am an avid mahjong player and can play Filipino, Chinese, and Japanese style. It runs very deep in my family (very deep). I own several mahjong sets separate from my family's sets and I personally like the oldskool vintage tiles instead of the new school tiles. And the green backs sold now are solid and not that emerald translucent. I came to check out their mahjong sets here and made a purchase (although I already have 4 sets at home). It came in the typical ugly plastic snake skin case - very typical of Chinatown Mahjong. They still don't feel like the oldskool titles but they look better than the new ones being sold online (I'm not talking about American mahjong tiles either). The tiles aren't painted and more laser painted. The acrylic feels lighter. At the time of visit they didn't have the magenta backs, only green and ivory. The ivory had the numbers but the greens don't. The ivory set looked painted (which I liked) but went with the emerald back because those are harder to find these days. Tile size is 1.5in x 1.1in.

Chinatown Firecracker 5/10K Run/Walk & Bike Ride event a couple weeks ago. My eldest daughter and I dropped in to peruse this place. They had very cute stuffies for the Year of the Horse. I was very tempted to buy one for my brother because he was born in the Year of the Horse. Unfortunately, I didn't get it because none of them resonated with me. Yes, it's an energy thing. I didn't have any interactions with the staff. They were busy attending to other customers. Anyway, it's a fun and intriguing place to walk through. If you like hunting for cheap treasures this is the place to go with random things like magnet toys, hell money, fake gag poops, incense, and plastic swords. Located in Central Plaza, its the area of Chinatown that used to be for tourists. Central Plaza was a romanticized take on China with colorful "chinese" buildings and string-lights and lanterns for night. It's survived so long a shame so much has fallen into disarray, I especially miss the wishing fountain. Luckily Import Bazaar is still running strong. The store itself is small with tight aisles packed from floor to ceiling with lots of different stuff. They try to cluster like-items together so it helps a bit. I personally love the chaos and the store frozen-in-time. My kid was so bombarded with the crazy variety of items here he had a hard time choosing what he wanted. The sweet lady working that day gave him a little toy car for free. They have a hilarious variety of fake cigarettes and cigars for you bad kids :)
