Yesterday I was on a mission to add a 5 pin flat adapter to my 4 pin flat electrical plug on my truck. The 4 pin flat the truck came with was inadequate to operate my new boat trailer properly. Basically, it impacted the trailer reverse lights and braking system. The brakes kept locking up in reverse. I called and went to several shops in town to include UHaul and RV repair shops. Everyone said try this guy or make an appointment and we will see what we can do. It's an adapter with one wire. I wasn't asking for them to rewire my truck. So I decided to try Last Chance. Anthony came out, looked at the adapter and explained how he was going to wire it in. Additionally, he also explained the boat trailer breaking system. It took him maybe 10 minutes to wire it in. And in that 10 minutes this shop gained a customer. I'm definitely taking my new boat here for future services. Anthony was professional, knowledgeable and kind. Great shop! They replaced the lower unit on my old outboard and it works like new. I tried to flush the system with 'ear muffs' and thought the water pump wasn't working but they took the time to put the motor in the tank to prove that the pump is working. I appreciate that they went to the trouble to test it properly. read more

Was interested in one of their boats in inventory. Negotiated a deal with a salesperson and then told him I would be in on a certain date that week to look at the boat. He agreed to meet. I arrive and then find out he's no longer with the company. After some awkward waiting for somebody else I'm connected with an owner and review the boat. There were many issues with the boat and wanted to get pricing on repairs. Owner committed to get back to me and then never did. I called back and he said he would get back to me. Never did. I reached out to their general inquiry and then get a message back the boat was sold. Horrible way to do business. I would recommend going elsewhere if you can. read more

Dan and Lynne were exceptional and made the process of ordering a boat, choosing options and financing it as easy and painless as possible. Given the times, it took much longer to get the boat than what I would have considered normal but I expected that. Dan took great care in making sure the boat was right for my needs. I emailed him monthly for updates and he always responded in a timely manner. Lynne made financing a breeze. She set realistic expectations and told me exactly what I needed to make the process quick and simple. After we arrived, that part of the deal took less than 10 mins. Paperwork was ready for me to sign and all I had to do was provide the documents she previously told us to have ready. The longest part of the process was the walk around. Dan took the time to go over the entire vessel and explain key features and important procedures, required for a new boat owner. He was attentive and answered any questions we had. We were on a tight schedule, when it came time to take delivery and the team really came together to make it happen. Rigging (shout out to the hard work of the busy service department), financing and detailing were done by the time we made the 6.5 hour drive to take delivery. So after several calls and a promise from the owner mike on mon to call me n let me know status of my boat...i never got a call i was going to drive there tues morning but i thot ..no they will call...nope..so weds morning i got up n was there when they opened.. This ALL couldve been avoided with a lil comunication on there part...so i talked to dan he calmed me down ...(its been 3 mo) told me he would help me out on the bill to make up for it so i left my boat.. Week laterthey call boat is running and shifting good ready for pickup n thats a quote...stator...starter ..impeller n lower service 1650$...raped me but after 3mo i just wanted my boat So took me a week to get on the water....fired rite up....put it in rev ...terrible clunking n grinding....no rev... This place is supposedly an authorized Minn Kota service center. I took my motor in to repair a broken plastic piece on the shaft. They said it it would take about a week to get the part and few more days to install it. 2 1/2 weeks later I call and I'm told they haven't started working on it but should be done by the end if the week. I call again at the end of the following week and it's still not done. The following week I finally get the motor back and the part they replaced looks all dirty and old, as if it was a used part. First time in the water the motor sputters and it won't steer. I take it back and they tell me the entire motor was flooded so the whole thing needs to be replaced. They tell me I'm lucky it's under warranty or it would have cost me $2500. Really? They screwed up but say I'm the one that's lucky? After a couple more weeks they tell me its ready. Not only was the motor still not working but there were parts missing, including the housing and screws that hold it together! How incompetent can they be? I took the motor to The Trolling Motor Doctor to undo all the damage done by Last Chance. They ordered the missing parts and got it to work properly. This place was very professional, unlike Last Chance. They even discovered parts missing from my plug assembly. There was no reason for Last Chance to take parts from the plug, much less open it up, but they did. Even the office lady didn't seem mentally all there. She would call for info she already had or tell me she didn't need something, only to ask for it later. When I complained about the work they performed the 3rd time, she said she would have a supervisor call me. Of course that never happened. They seriously don't care since they are the only shop in town. It is worth the drive to find another place that do the work right. read more

My experience started great as listed in my previous review. The follow up from their service department was lacking. I was very disappointed when their time frame of 3 weeks to start working on it and expected I would be able to get it back until around 3 weeks after that. Ok, so I will get the boat back about April 24th. Great timing. They didn't start working on the boat until then. I also didn't receive any phone calls letting me know updates unless Lynn in the front office was able to get the service department to call. I like these guys I really do, but it felt as if because my boat wasn't their normal it kept getting pushed. I ordered a several parts for them because of their suppliers long lead time or high price. The issues with the boat I knew would require a lake test to ensure the problem was solved and Mike insisted that wasn't the case. Long story short. I get it back more 12 weeks later. To be fair about 8 days were lost waiting for parts. None of the 4K in work they do fixes the problem and the boat over heats 5 minutes into our first chance to use it at Lake Elsinore. Now we are going to miss our second vacation planned with boat. If they weren't good people I would have no problem giving it 1 star. They are good guys and claimed to do a lot of work they didn't charge for, so I feel two stars may be a little harsh but still the problem wasn't fixed and almost left me stranded on the lake. I want people to know. When I bought my boat , I drove six hours round trip to pick and drop off my boat. Only to find they offer delivery services. On my second trip to the shop for leak repairs, They sold me an defective Minn Kota ultrex. Once I went fishing on the first trip the head unit was defective. I had to make the drive , again. But by far The worst part was the owner entered my boat identification number twice in the system, she entered incorrectly one digit twice. I found this out after two years of owning the boat and the state put a lien on my name. This happened because there were two boats under my name because when the boat was purchased the owner of last chance put me in the system twice. I spent about 14 hours at the dmv between the 6 trips I had to make only to have had multiple liens taken care of. I can't believe the time I spent clearing this up, wasting my time l, because of the negligence of last chance marine. Hours and hours spent on the phone with Sacramento and county offices to have all this fixed. I sold the boat last week and glad I did. I pray I never have to deal with last chance marine again. This was the worst experience for a first time boat owner. And when you are at the shop to ask questions, they do not cater to anything you need or any questions you have. read more

Today was my first time doing business with Last Chance Marine in Hemet. My new Mercury outboard had a recall notice to change a oil pump that could over pressurize and blow out the filter gasket causing a leak. I purchased the motor in San Diego and the Hemet location was half the distance to take my boat. I called Last Chance and gave them the recall number from Mercury and they did the rest, ordering the parts from mercury and calling me when they arrived to schedule the service. The Mercury Technician did his homework and discovered the parts Mercury sent were not correct for my motor. They reordered the parts and saved me a 3 hour drive. When the correct parts arrived Last Chance called and scheduled the service. They did it in one morning as promised and the work was professional. I will definitely come back for future service. read more

DO NOT take your boat to this place!!! The woman that works up front named Lynn is a flat out blatant liar. I paid for my diagnostic fee and they said I didn't and told me I wasn't allowed to have my boat unless I paid the $120 a second time. When I dropped it off, I was quoted $2800 to have it fixed. We authorized the work to be done, hadn't heard anything and so 5 months later I called and they said it still hadn't been done and the price had gone up to $3000. I wasn't happy with the increase but didn't really have a choice as they are the only boat repair place anywhere near me. So I once again authorized the work to be done. A month later I called and it still wasn't done. Guy, the head mechanic said he wasn't told by Lynn that I had authorized it even though I had the call logs to prove I had called them to do it. She lied and said I never called to cover her own ass for dropping the ball. I then spent the next 3 weeks calling to see if the boat was going to be done and every day Guy would tell me he was going to call the parts place and call me back. NOT ONCE did he ever call back when he said he would. I had to continue to call him. Ultimately they told me that after having my boat for almost 10 months they weren't going to be able to get it completed by my next vacation so I was out of luck. I called and spoke with Lynn to confirm that because no actual work had been done, I should have a zero balance. She confirmed with me there was no balance and I could come get the boat. This is when I was told that I pay the $120 diagnostic fee again or I don't get my boat and once again Lynn lied about ever having told me I had no balance. This place is an absolute joke. They have the market cornered in the Hemet valley so they treat their customers like shit. Avoid at all costs!!! I know it's a pain but drive your equipment to Elsinore... it's worth the extra time to avoid this hell hole! read more

Dropped off a flywheel housing and a coupler to simply have them determine which one was right for my boat. Gave them the serial number off the engine and stern drive to make things easier. They said they they would call me and let me know on Monday. Thursday, I called because I haven't heard anything and the lady that answered the phone said the service department was too busy to answer the phone and they would have to call me back whenever they caught up but it wouldn't be that day. I finally talk to guy and he tells me he will know something in a day or two. I called back again Wednesday (6days later) the following week and still sorry they are too busy to talk. I don't want to talk, I just need a freaking part. So I leave a message and still no response, so after two and a half weeks I pick up my parts still without an answer. All they say is oh yeah sorry we are busy. I just needed the bell housing so I can put the motor and stern drive together so I would be able to bring the very same boat back to this place to have a bunch of work done to it. It's not the fact that I don't understand a place being busy but to not talk to your customers because you are busy is complete bs. I guess I'll drive two hours to take my boat back to eliminator for the remaining work because these guys obviously don't care about their customers. P.S. also just spent 2k to have them go through my stern drive right before this that took a month. Slow to get work done and very very poor communication. read more

Where to begin! First word of advice for you is RUN!!!!This place has been nothing short of a Freddy Krueger nightmare from day one. I drop my boat off on April 26 for a fluids and filters service and to check the throttle cable. The mystery man Mike in the service department sells me a dream and says I'll have my boat back in 2 weeks. 3 weeks approach and still no call from this shop for an update. When I call and talk to him, he lets me know that the throttle cable is shot and he can order a replacement and have it in 2 days. Great! Fast forward another 5 days with no call, so I call to talk to him and he tells me "I ordered the cable and it should be in today, so we will have it wrapped up tomorrow. Fast forward another 3 days, and of course I have to call, because he obviously doesn't know how to operate a phone, and when asked if the boat is ready, all the sudden "they don't make that cable anymore and you're going to need a helm adapter". This is after telling me 3 days prior that he already ordered the cable and it was in the mail. After I picked myself up off the floor from him telling me it was going to be over $600 for the cable and adapter kit, I told him to just put the old one back on. ( I ended up getting the exact kit he was talking about for $219 shipped to my door, and had it installed in 2 hours) 3 days later I finally get to pick up my boat and bring it home. Fast forward 2 days and I'm in havasu launching the boat. Boat fires up and dies, will not restart. We get it over to the dock, I smell gas, open the deck lid, and there is about 5 gallons of fuel in the bottom of my boat. Fuel line from the fuel/water separator is off (they changed this filter), no hose clamp to be found for fuel line. I put the fuel line back on and got a clamp for it, drained the fuel from the bottom of the boat and fired it up. Idles ok so we jump in and head out. Get out on plane and the boat starts bogging after about 3 minutes and cuts off. I finally get it to start again and limp it back onto the marina. I spent the next 3 days of our trip trying to figure out what was wrong with the boat, with no luck. Coming into town I call this shop and explain to the owner Lynn the issues and my concerns about having all that gas in the bottom of the boat, so she tells me to get it down there and they would get working on it right away. I took it in on Monday and Wednesday still no call. Back to the same old shitty customer service. And of course when I do talk to Mike, he seems to "be gone" every time they are supposed to be working in my boat. This clown takes more days off than he works from the way he puts it. Fast forward another 2 weeks, and they have no answers as to what the problem is. The last straw is when good ol Mike tells me "basically it's nothing we did to the boat to make it not run properly, and if we do any testing on it I'm gonna have to charge you." I wasn't expecting you to do anything for free and the good lord knows you are going to get your money, but with that comment I kindly told him I would come pick up my boat. Of course when he saw me roll in, he ran out the back door like he had something important to do. The bottom line is, this shops mechanics put a boat of 8 people at risk due to their gross negligence. Even if they "didn't take the fuel line off", they had their face right next to a fuel line that had no clamp on it, and passed it by to save 30 cents. They bent me over for almost $900 dollars for a filter and fluid change/ impeller change. Then tried to hose me for over $600 again for a $200 cable set up. My boat ran PERFECT before these so called "professionals" got their hands on it. Now I am left almost $900 in the hole for a fluid and filter change, and a boat that will barely idle. This is the nightmare shop that you are worried about. They are crooks, their follow up and follow through SUCKS. Apparently they need to be re educated because after 2 weeks of working on my boat they still didn't have any answers other that duuhhhhh runs good. I took the boat in for bogging and stalling and they never even ran a fuel pressure test. IDIOTS! Please, save yourself the headache and your hard earned money and put faith in another shop. This place will take the joy of owning a boat right from underneath you. I will also be filing a formal complaint with the better business bureau. (They probably aren't even accredited) read more

Two years or so ago I fried my crank on my Yamaha HPDI. Needed a new power head. I was referred to Last Chance Performance Marine in Hemet Ca. They replaced the power head with a new factory Yamaha power head not a refurbished one. Very long story short and many trips up to Hemet (I live in San Diego) to get issues resolved because it would never idle after the work was done and it still doesn't run. The 2nd to the last time I took it up was because I found parts floating in the bottom of the motor. The parts I found are the fuel injector clips and bolts that hold the injectors in place. They said it was all good now so when I took it out i could not get it started. Took it back up again and was told two of the coils are bad. They wanted to charge me around 500.00 to replace the coils. The coils are 120.00 each so the rest was labor. It's a 10 minute job at most. Two 10mm bolts and a wire connector. So I replace them myself and also changed the spark plugs. And It still doesn't run. The total bill from them was just under 6,000 to do a poor job and many trips up there so add gas to that and I still don't have a motor that runs. Super disappointed! I spent 1700.00 to get my 1999 125 elpto mercury outboard in running order before I moved out of state. I took I to Last chance because of the high marks. The manager was nice enough but the service guys made me feel as though I was bothering them. I picked up the boat in early October and headed east with the reassurance that it was running like a top. They were unable to start it, I forgot what the excuse was, I tried to go fishing shortly after I arrived to Minnesota. It started but wouldn't run. I stored it through the winter and the mechanic went through my newly rebuilt cards to find they were never synchronize. Not sure how this got overlooked but the guy in Minnesota where there's 1 boat per household thinks it was not started after the carb rebuild. These guys at last chance know how to change parts but are not mechanics. I feel as though they took advantage of the whole situation. My motor is not allowed in CA as it is a 2 stroke but if I have any advice it's beware of last chance. You my be taking you boat somewhere else and pay to have the job completed. I'm able to call and ask for maintenance guidance and if I need in stock tune-up parts they are shipped out expeditiously.
