Since then, my back has deteriorated to the point where walking a single block leaves me in severe pain. I have had to quit practising and go on disability through social services. All was fine for Sandra Ross when I had the money to pay up front for my treatments, but now, when I can't afford to, she refuses to bill social services directly, even though I have been pre-approved for treatment. Also, since I am on disability, I am entitled to a new bed, up to $200. Anybody knows that you can't get squat for that, so my social worker said they would approve me for a very good qualify bed, as long as I had a letter from a doctor stating that it would help with my back condition. When asked if she would do this for me, she said absolutely not, she said it was not her "job" to do this. She said she had already "done me a favour" simply by talking on the phone with my social worker!! This woman has no empathy for her patients. All she cares about is money, up front, at your appointment. STAY AWAY!!!

I was always satisfied with my trips here- my color never came out brassy or snot green or pylon orange, so that's definitely a good thing. And the high/low lights were always natural looking, not "skunky" like you might get at other run-of-the-mill salon. In terms of cuts, I never really did anything crazy with my locks back then. I did grow out a bob 'do though, and the stylist I had was great about that- she knew that I was growing out my hair, so she would only trim very minimal off the ends just to keep my tresses in tip-top shape. Since grad, I haven't been back (Halifax to Antigonish is just a tad far to go for a haircut!) , but coming here was definitely nice while it lasted

An interesting spot to visit. I didn't know much about lavender before going here and found that…read morethe two self-guided tours were really interesting and useful. There's the main lavender gardens that are in bloom June/July and September/October, as well as another garden with many different types of lavender that still had some blooming in August. After checking out the gardens and self-guided tours, you can pop into the gift shop and buy all manner of things made with lavender, from culinary items to body care to home goods. I'm a big fan of the lavender chocolate tea having had it prior to this visit. Don't miss out on the fossil that's across from the gift shop! There's a little plaque for it. There's a pretty big parking lot when you first drive in and another parking lot past the gift shop that's in the shade. Bathrooms are available. All of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I know they host a huge lavender festival in the summer, but I have yet to attend. If you want to learn the most, that might be your best bet, but visiting at another time is best to avoid the crowds. While this isn't something I would drive from Halifax just to see, if you're in the area, it's worth the ~15-30 minutes to check it out!
