Also appreciated some hints on what to see and do in Greenwich, which was not on our radar screen. But really glad we went there... The observatory was cool, and lots of nice restaurants and pubs. Definitely would recommend this again. Only downside was at some of the passengers had poor manners... Woman in front of us changed her young child clothing, which I really did not need to see.

Mike's lifelong history and obvious love of the canals, how they were used and why, were highly educational and entertaining. From the African Hunting Dogs on the shores of the Zoo to the notches in the bridges from ropes once used to pull the boats, Mike knew about it all and had great stories to go along with it. The rate he charges for a private two person tour is incredibly reasonable. If big crowds aren't your cup of tea I highly recommend this tour. I imagine larger tours would be fine too - but the personalized attention and spacious accommodation was perfect for us. Bravo Mike - on our short trip to London we only did one "tourist"-y thing and it was your trip, and we couldn't have made a better choice. It was beautiful, educational, fun, and extremely memorable.

The morning of our booking I had a medical emergency (which we were able to verify to Skuna) so we called about six hours before our tour to ask if we could reschedule for another day. We understood this was incredibly short notice, so we didn't expect a refund or even a full credit. We asked if since the food would obviously not be prepared could we at least have a credit for the food portion if not the tour time. The answer was a fairly insensitive no, and were told the manager said they can't do anything with a same day cancel. Of course, we understood the uniqueness of the situation and had it not been due to a legitimate medical issue we never would have asked. However, the staff we spoke to didn't even show concern for the situation. We had to cancel drinks and bites at Bokan as well for after our tour and the staff there said no problem, they showed concern, and wished us well. Understanding that policies are in place we sent an email the next day. Eight days later we have only received an automated reply stating that our email was received. This is an experience we've wanted to have since moving to London three years ago, but sadly we just aren't interested in giving more money to a company that has this little care for their customers.

Regent's canal offer's that perfect escape valve whether you choose to walk, run or cycle along it. There is something special about the tranquil water, the reflections it provides and provokes, and the passing barges which add to the overall calm ambiance this watery gem provides. Wherever you decide to enter it at Limehouse, Bethnal Green, Islington or Regent's park, you will surely benefit from it's genteel offerings and there are plentiful pubs en route. So don't think you have to remove yourself from the city altogether to find tranquility, it's right on your doorstep.

It was 12 pounds per person if I'm not mistaken. They let us bring on our water bottle. You make a few stops on the canal and when you exit in Maida Vale there is about 15 minutes before they leave to walk around.. You can also catch one later on as they come every hour but make sure you aren't on the last one!

Whilst I've travelled the length of the Thames before, it's always been at a snail's pace, and usually stuck in a crowded tube train. This was a breath (a blast, in fact) of fresh air. From Canary Wharf, the tour took a more leisurely course back westerly along the river and a guide talked us through some history. He was an experienced chap with a lot of interesting stories and anecdotes. Did you know that a single shell from a gun on the HMS Belfast, moored at London Bridge, could target and destroy Crystal Palace? Or that an earlier London Bridge was purchased by a rich Californian for £1M, and carefully shipped over to the USA and assembled - only then did the american realise it wasn't the iconic Tower Bridge he thought it was. The sensitive might find the talk of murderers' heads on poles and Guy Fawkes hanging drawing and quartering a bit much, but kids would love that, I'm sure! Despite the occasionally grisly commentary, I'd highly recommend the speedboat tour.

The people who run the boats are very friendly, we left on time, and the trip was great! However, I think a commentary ( live, or recorded) would be beneficial. A lot of people had questions about the wind farm , which luckily my partner had a bit of knowledge so could chat about them, and the proposal to enlarge it. Also it would be good to actually serve drinks rather than just advertise them. After all, it's a 2 hour round trip. I think you are missing a trick Rossboats !

We easily booked on line a couple months in advance of our trip to Stonehenge, Bath and a Secret Place. I had a few questions, which were answered quickly through email. Instructions and itinerary were provided after we bought we tickets. Additional and helpful information was sent a few day prior to our trip. Noelh, our tour guide, was knowledgable, interesting and fun from the moment he picked us up in London. He provided information beyond the tour stops. He was engaging and had a good understanding of the geology of Stonehenge as well as the historical background. He made well time stops for breaks. We spent about two hours at Stonehenge, two hours at Bath and an hour at the Secret Place. The Secret Place was worth the extra and I highly recommend. Noelh offered a brief and interesting walking tour at each site and left us time to explore on our own. We were allowed to bring snacks on the bus but we didn't need them because we stopped plenty at places for food and drink. Noelh provided water. Bring water and rain gear. There were UBC ports for phone charging on the bus. The bus was very comfortable. Noelh was sensitive to a woman that was having mobility issues and arranged for her to skip part of the walking tour. I enjoyed Stonehenge and the Secret Place immensely, I was glad I saw Bath, but it was too crowded during our visit. Others on the tour really loved Bath. I highly recommend The English Bus tours.
