When we finally went, we all wondered why we hadn't gone sooner, what a blast! One of my friends had met Marla, the owner and founder of Danceology, at an event and took it as a sign, vowing to tow us all in as soon as she could. If you're like me, and have been saying "It would be great to take some dancing classes," for goodness knows how long, I highly recommend Danceology. I must start that the studio is in a great location/community and the studio is absolutely stunning. The only downside is that the studio is all surrounded by windows - it doesn't really bother me that much, but I can see how other people may feel uncomfortable being in this environment for their classes. Why am I giving this place 2 stars? The groupon was $19 for 10 pilates, zumba, and yoga classes. That is one un-passable deal - but, they only offer those classes listed above 1-2x a day. Timing may be very hard for some people to attend (usually classes are around noon). BUT, wait...the worse feeling is walking all the way to the studio and then being told that class is cancelled because there's not enough people attending. The instructor was late 10 minutes herself and we sat there waiting for her. Once she entered the door and only saw it was the two of us, she just asked us to go, because she wasn't going to hold the class if it was just two people. I have never had this happen to me before - the instructors in other studios will still go on with the class even if I was the only student. I probably will return to try to finish my 10 classes...but I highly doubt I will get through all of them.

I learned a lot and I was amazed at how much he was learning as well. Aleks is a great teacher and is truly amazing at motivating his students. You don't feel dumb for not getting the moves the first (or second or third) time around. He sees where people struggle and it becomes a learning moment for everyone. We liked his class so much, we enrolled in Level 2! We had to pause afterwards because at the time, I was 6 months pregnant, but when we get the opportunity, we will be coming back for Level 3! If you need something in your life to feel good about, try this class out. You will meet lots of new people, gain a new social skill and be entertained with Aleks wit and humor during the lessons

We did inverts and had a really good experience. I can't wait to go back for a full hour class. The pole dancing course was okay. They taught us a choreographed dance (it was difficult to follow along) but we didn't do as many spins as I would have liked. I took one pole dancing class at a competitor years ago and it felt more like a workout but if you want to learn a sexy dance routine for a special someone, this would definitely be the class for you. They also offer bachelorettes and private lessons. I definitely want to try some of the other classes. This location is located on the third floor of Seduction. I wasn't sure if I was the right address when I arrived but it was. The instructors and employees working at this location are extremely friendly and kind. The classes are loaded onto your account, and the easiest way to book the class is online, or via their app. The classes open up 72 hours (or 3 days) before the actual class, and these things fill up QUICK. So, some planning ahead is required. They do have waitlist available, which means if someone cancels, you get their spot. Beware of their cancellation policies, though - give it a good read and realize that this will be a commitment of your time, or else you're paying! I have no problem with this, but I can see where others who are prone to changing-plans might find this tedious. The classes themselves are upbeat and fun, and always loaded with awesome music. I think I've tried at least 4 of the instructors in Pole Beginner 1 now, and they all have a different "style" but they stick to the same syllabus, in terms of moves you need to master to move up the classes. You can't just jump ahead - they make sure you've got these moves down before they'll promote you. I love the classes because they have equal parts fitness, dance, and just plain ol' sexiiiii girliness. Sexy crawls on the floor? Twerking? hair flips??? Yes, yes, and yes, and with some upper body strength too. My Groupon is coming to an end soon, and then they'll be looking at a regular Vixen!

Dance like an Egyptian!…read more I first started taking classes at Hannan's Belly Dance Studio (now Egyptian Dance Academy) back in 2005 and have made this my dance home ever since. Whether you just want to burn off some calories or become a professional dancer, the Academy has something to offer. The studio owner and artistic director, Nada El Masriya, grew up in Egypt, trained with the famous Reda troupe, and regularly returns to Egypt to stay in touch with what's current in the belly dance scene there. She makes sure to pass this knowledge on to all her instructors, so you know you're getting the real thing. If you want to push yourself further, the studio also offers lots of workshops and opportunities to perform. Above all, the classes are so much fun! Seriously, if you want to tone your arms, would you rather pump iron in a sweaty gym, or float around gracefully like a goddess while listening to fabulous music?
