Florist Amanda was supposed to be my florist for my wedding in May 2020, unfortunately we had to postpone it to 12/19/20 due to COVID. She was a preferred vendor by our venue so we trusted her. When the California Governor shut down California two weeks before our December wedding, the venue cancelled our wedding on us. Amanda was the first florist we talked with when we started looking for a florist, and we already knew that we wouldn't need to look elsewhere. We told her upfront that we are not "aesthetics people" and essentially asked if she could do her thing based on our (very loose) wedding colors. Without an ounce of judgment, she told us not to worry. And indeed, she absolutely delivered! Everything from the bouquet to arch florals to centerpieces were absolutely stunning. She runs her own flower farm and has expertise in botany in addition to florals, which means her florals have a natural beauty. She also clearly has a lot of experience -- we had an unexpected situation where the groomswoman was supposed to have a boutonniere but her outfit was too light to hold it, and Amanda was able to create a corsage out of the boutonniere on the spot. So first off I'm going to start by saying that Amanda at Laughin' Gal Floral is a total sweetheart and super genuine. I just got married on 8.18.18 at Club Del Monte Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, CA, and I am truly happy with the outcome of every single one of my floral pieces. When my wedding planner introduced me to her I could immediately tell that she was very down to Earth. Amanda truly listens to your vision when it comes to planning the floral decor for your wedding. Throughout the planning process Amanda remembered key elements in our conversations down until the very day of my wedding. I informed her that I hated the color purple, and if I had to describe my personality with a flower, it would be a gerbera daisy. She's also very realistic and informative when it comes to your wedding design. For instance, I wanted a bouquet of succulents, and she informed me that if the entire bridal bouquet was of succulents, it would be really heavy. When it cam to my wedding day, her work & vision had exceeded my expectations. When she arrived to my venue with the bouquets, she showed me my bouquet and head garland and informed me that whatever I didn't like could be adjusted. After my ceremony when I walked into my reception with my husband, I saw the hotel California meets Great Gatsby design I envisioned and was completely blown away. DO NOT HESITATE - BOOK AMANDA NOW! I got married at Mission Ranch on 9/2/18 and I honestly will not be able to fully express what extraordinary work Amanda did for me and how grateful I am for her! Amanda was a delight to work with and was very patient with my MANY additions, changes, and questions throughout our planning process (ie - I was SUPER picky). She made time to meet with me and my Mom early in our planning process and spent over two hours with us at a coffee shop going over every detail, particular, wish-list item I had in mind. As the wedding got closer, she was wonderful about sending updated spreadsheets of everything she was going to do and had wonderful ideas and suggestions for me when I needed some guidance. I am not a person who is overly passionate about my flowers, but I've got to say that I LOVED the arrangements that Amanda put together for my wedding. And I must not have been the only one, because I received compliments from almost all of our guests on the really unique floral arrangements she created for us. I met Amanda at the Santa Cruz Wedding fair. We almost didn't go after not being able to find parking, but I am so glad we went. I was looking for someone who could use a lot of different herbs in my wedding flowers because I really wanted editable flowers and arrangements. Who best to go to then someone with a Farm? Amanda completely blew me away with her knowledge and ideas. When the consultation was over we were confident that she would make something perfect. On my wedding day I could not wait to see what she brought. All the flowers were so much more amazing then I could have imagined. When I had received flowers for my wrist in High School they were always way too big, and would get in my way. By the end of the night the flowers would be smashed and 1/2 of them would be on the table as I tried to get it down to a manageable size. This was not the case with Laughin' Gal Floral. The Mothers and Grandmothers had flowers for their wrist which could also be pinned to their dresses if they wanted to. They were really beautiful and didn't get in the way at all. I had spoken with Amanda about some of the different flowers they liked so each one was really personalized. The flowers for the boys had to be editable because the best man had sworn to eat his boutonnière! I loved them and for my Groom she warped copper around the stem which he loved. My Bridesmaids and I had beautiful flowers for our hair as well as our bouquets. Amanda provided vases for us to place them in at the reception which were decorated to match. I was worried about having flowers they were so large my hands would get tired and that was not the case. The flowers were just the right size for me and my dress. My Bridesmaids flew in so a few local guests were more then happy to take their flowers home. The ribbon she used matched out dresses so well I was amazed, especially because I didn't give her color swatches. For our hair Amanda provided an assortment of flowers and herbs, matching out bouquets, that had long clean stems. We had a blast putting them in and designing my own crown of flowers. Since the flowers had to be put in after we got our hair done this was really the best option. If the flowers had been wired together it would have been a lot harder to get them in right, and they may have been too long or too short or too tall for the final hair style. At the reception we had 4 tables that were 26 ft long. We had 12 pots of assorted kitchen herbs and bunches of herbs and flowers on either side. The sign in table had a single large pot of herbs. The guests loved being able to take them home and I have been hearing about recipes ever since. Those with porches and backyards took the pots, while others took the bunches. My favorite new recipe is Wedding Bouquet Chicken, a once-in-a-lifetime dish I owe to Amanda and Laughin' Gal Floral. Amanda knows what she is doing and has so much creativity. I was so lucky to find Laughin' Gal Floral to do the flowers at our wedding, which was on May 18, 2013. Amanda was by far the sweetest personality we met with, and her floral arrangements were original, beautiful, and made our wedding ceremony and reception just over-the-top gorgeous. I was convinced that I could take on doing my own wedding flowers for our April 23 wedding at the Holly Farm (Carmel Valley) to save us a bit of money, but began to waver slightly in my conviction when I started realizing how much work it was going to be. We met Amanda for coffee, and I instantly knew that she could create exactly what we wanted, for the price we wanted, and that she was going to make my life immensely easier as it got closer to the wedding. We initially chatted to her about the wedding party flowers, and then we expanded to the table decorations also. Both my hubby and I are pretty laid back about the wedding details, so we just told Amanda what we liked (romantic, english countryside, bright colors), what we wanted for centerpieces - a collection of vases / tea pots and flowers - and just let her work her magic. I had zero stress and complete confidence in her! On the wedding day, Amanda brought us the most beautiful flowers. My bouquet showed off my dress perfectly, she matched family flowers but everyone's was unique, and our centerpieces were so simple and beautiful - she had collected a bunch of different vases and filled them with gorgeous colorful and fun flowers. This vendor is amazing! She was great during our phone call and really understood what I was looking for in flowers. You can tell she has a passion for what she does, and she is damn good at it! My bouquets came out SO beautiful. She was very flexible in using blue bottles I had instead of vases for the tables, and adding my beloved pet's feathers to the bouquet for extra texture, and adding them to the boutonnieres. The groom even exclaimed "These boutonnieres look just like the photos we sent, they are exactly what I wanted." She is a small business owner, which takes a lot of time and effort. Replies might not be immediate, but she really pays attention to details. When I got the first details of what she was thinking for the flowers I was blown away by all the thought and care she put into it. I was confident from the beginning that she would be able to do a great job, because of that trust I didn't mind if I didn't hear back within seconds of my e-mails. There is simply no other florist that creates such naturally gorgeous bouquets and arrangements! Amanda was so fun to work with and when she dropped off our wedding flowers, garland, etc I was blown away! It's been awhile since I got married (April 2016) but I have been super busy since then! Anyways the awesome service and wonderful work that Amanda provided is still so fresh in my mind. The bouquets, garlands, boutonnieres, and other floral arrangements were gorgeous and above and beyond what I had imagined. I gave Amanda some ideas of what I wanted but all in all I told her I trusted her judgement and to make something that she thought would work for the setting. Giving her artistic creativity was one of the best decisions I made throughout my wedding planning process. No one knows flowers better than Amanda. Amanda is a true artist and knows exactly how to execute her clients' visions. I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted, but after my first call with her, I knew I was in good hands. She took some of my photos and our conversation and came up with amazing floral arrangements. The bridal party's bouquets were gorgeous as were the reception table flowers. She created a beautiful flower canopy and provided some loose florals for the wedding cake. Amanda did an incredible job for our wedding this May. We only met with her once, I described the look I was going for (soft florals for a spring wedding) and showed her some pictures and she said she knew exactly what I wanted. Amanda grows all of her own stuff, including whatever you want for your wedding, and by being both the botanist and the florist, you cut out the middle man and can save a bundle.
