Full Disclaimer: I had the pleasure of working with Laura, the owner, when she was an employee at All About Beer magazine. I work from home, so my husband seems to think the house should always look amazing. "You're home all day!" "Yeah, I am home... WORKING!" Being at the house all day has the opposite effect -- I'm constantly contributing to the mess and clutter. And with our busy schedules and double dogs, we'd find ourselves getting further and further behind a deep clean, with more and more building up. And on the rare occasion we have a work-free weekend, who wants to spend it cleaning?? So we're tough customers: messy, with animals, and a two-story house to contend with. Laura came to scope it out, get an idea for what we needed done, and sent us a quote a few days later. We were able to adjust the housecleaning duties, as needed, and that also modified the price. If you go for a twice-monthly visit as opposed to once-a-month, you get a price break on each cleaning. Cenaida manages our cleaning and comes twice a month. If there's any delay or change to her schedule, Laura keeps us in the loop. Laura will also hold on to your key in a lockbox in her house, in case you can't be home during the cleanings and don't want to leave a key outside. I think we have a big house for one person, but Cenaida always dives right in and does a nice job. I'll preface this by saying LCC is the first cleaning company we've ever used, so I don't have a measuring stick for comparison. There are some minor things that are missed (dusting lamps and light fixtures, for instance; or getting a good cleaning on the shoe molding in the corners where grime tends to collect); but considering how much square footage she covers, and the price-point, it's always a pretty thorough job on the whole, and we're very pleased. Few things feel better than coming home to a freshly clean, lemon-scented house! Laura is just about the sweetest, kindest person you'll ever meet. But I also want to speak to her professionalism. After our first cleaning, we unfortunately had a deep scratch on our hardwoods. It ran a few feet, and happened when Cenaida had pulled our couch away from the wall... an exposed nail on the bottom of one of the legs carved through the floor. Laura was extremely concerned, apologetic, and fast in making sure it got fixed. She is insured. But she also genuinely cares about her customers, and making things right. Cenaida, too, has been a pleasure to have in the house. She's quiet and quick. And I feel completely comfortable having her here. I once tossed a piece of costume jewelry in a wastebasket upstairs to later find she had pulled it out and put it on the counter for me (thinking it had gotten tossed by accident!). We've been using Laura's Cleaning Company for over a year now and it's definitely been worth it. I never thought I'd use a cleaning service but I have really appreciated the time savings. No more cleaning showers (or, let's be honest, letting mildew grow for way too long)! The cleaning crew leave the house looking and smelling wonderful; it's almost magical. There have been mistakes but Laura makes sure that we are happy and goes above and beyond to right any wrongs (and she always does this proactively). It's a very nice personal touch and it hasn't gone unnoticed. I think the price is very fair considering the quality of work. I would definitely recommend her business to others. read more

Used Laura's Cleaning off and on for two years. We only stopped when it was a problem on our side, not theirs. Cleaning was thorough, and I was happy that they cleaned the fans and blinds (make sure they are turned off and blinds are down/open). Would even make the beds if we had the sheets out, but never took advantage. The one or two times we did notice an issue (fan not cleaned) it was addressed during the next visit. As someone who used to clean houses/businesses, I appreciate the hard work it takes to clean up after people. Would use them again without question. read more

I gave them the benefit of the doubt for months, and I finally had to call it quits. The initial cleaning was incredible, and I have referred them to at least 3 people who have used their services. The problem is that every cleaning after the first one was just so-so...if that. Laura is incredibly sweet, and is quick to offer a complimentary cleaning, but the follow-ups are never satisfactory. My team did a good job with sweeping, mopping and cleaning the shower/tub. Everything else was mediocre at best. Dusting of picture frames, light fixtures, etc. were never done after the initial cleaning, neither was wiping off the front of the cabinets or the fridge handles. They would vacuum, but not use the brush attachment, so there would be 2-3" of dog hair left along the edge of the carpet. Speaking of baseboards, those were rarely cleaned, either. Mirrors would be washed, but sink faucets would not be, and there was always grime along the edge of the faucets and the back edge of the sink (like what you would use a toothbrush to quickly get rid of). It was just consistently disappointing. I don't like to complain, because I do appreciate that someone is doing something that I don't have the time or desire to do, but it just got worse and worse. I work hard for my money, so I expect the people I'm paying to clean my house to work hard at their jobs as well. They also were not careful with my things. The second time they came, the cleaner threw away a bag that held my puppy's dog bed and towels that I had used to clean up his messes (and was waiting to wash them). Laura offered to replace them, but I let it slide, not wanting to make a big deal of it, and hoping I wouldn't have any problems in the future. Another time, I came home to my curtain rod halfway fallen down. I can't swear that it happened while they were cleaning, but it was a pretty odd coincidence. Another time, my toilet was running when I got home after they had cleaned that day, and I had to have my boyfriend come over to fiddle with the hardware to finally get it to stop wasting water. I finally politely complained to Laura that the job the team was doing was not to my satisfaction. She said she had a meeting with them over the weekend, and the cleaning job they performed for me that week was the worst ever. It was less than a half-a* attempt, and clearly conveyed to me that these people did not want to clean my house. I cancelled all future scheduled visits immediately. I'm in the market for a new house cleaner at the present time. I'm getting quotes for quite a bit more than Laura's Cleaning Company, but hopefully this will be a case where you get what you pay for. read more

We are currently at about our 10th cleaning with Laura's Cleaning Co. (we have used them twice a month since mid-August). We picked Laura's company off the reviews by Christina G, who we generally trust with all things Yelp. I had called and emailed with quite a few places in the area, and LCC was the most competitive. Our first emails and phone calls with Laura were great, and she was able to set up with a cleaning schedule that worked for our family. She was also able to rush in a cleaning the day before my parents came in town. We have overall been really happy with our cleanings. They offered a wide variety of overall cleaning and detail work (it's pretty specific to your house, I suppose). I honestly have no idea how long they spend at the house time-wise, but it's always really thorough. There are occasionally small things that haven't been done, but normally we chalk that up to how messy we are and that LCC just can't do everything every time. I also get the impression that if any of the tiny things that have been missed every actually bothered us, Laura would take care of it. TL:DR - we are happy with LCC! read more

We have been using LCC for about 6 months and could not be happier. Its so nice to come home from work and have the house sparkle every other Monday! Laura is extremely sweet and will cater to my cleaning needs. I have had to reschedule a couple of times and she completely understands and is quick to reschedule her girls at my convenience. We found Laura's Cleaning Company on Yelp. The cleaning services were just fine and a great bargain! Unfortunately, we had repeated problems with the crew being very late to every appointment with us. We spoke with the owner on many occasions to address the problem. We never were able to get it sorted out. However, we were willing to put up with the hassle because Laura's prices are so much better than any other we've found. We scheduled Laura's cleaners to come to our house prior to real estate showings. They were an hour and a half late when we had to scramble to clean the house ourselves. I also found their initial estimate to be high. Would not recommend and will never use again. read more

The very first thing I decided to do after I regained a daycare expense when my son went to kindergarten was to have LCC come and help me out. For about 2 years I have felt the overwhelm hit me hard with our growing family after the birth of our second and knew we needed this. Finally was able to put at the top of our budget. I cannot even explain what a game changer this is. I was home the first time the cleaning was done and I had no idea what the time frame was going to be from start to finish. I explained my willingness to move the work station where I was in my dining room when she needed to work there and she left me completely alone. You see, while I was working and being productive I had my over achieving cleaning crew making the magic really happen. I haven't had such an amazing day of productivity before or since... Until today, round 2. I woke up so excited that it is cleaning day. The feeling I know I will have all throughout today will be massive production. I work professionally with appts, so I know the value of time down to the minute. I am precise with intentions of how to use it, and this is about the best money I can spend for the month. I am continually impressed everytine I communicate w Laura and will post photos today after the cleaning. Do yourselves a favor and let them handle it. Customer service is all about what they do 'right' in your vision and how they right wrongs. You won't meet someone better. These other reviews seem dated and I know some practices have changed. Continues to be my favorite way currently to invest back into my time and I highly recommend communicating with Laura. read more

We used Laura's Cleaning Company sporadically (3-4 times). What started off great (the prices are wonderful and they did a great job cleaning) turned into a non-negotiable where I needed to fire them as our cleaning service. The first time we used them, they were great. They were thorough, priced well, and on time. However, every subsequent time we used the service, they were late (or didn't show up) or we had other issues which I'll explain below. Laura was extremely courteous (hence the 2 stars), but unfortunately the issues were a non-negotiable for me. Laura called me on our 3rd cleaning to let me know that the girls didn't have the key to our house and asked if I could come home to let the girls in since she was out of town. I politely let her know that I work during the day and that it would be extremely difficult for me to come home. I also reminded her that this was another issue on top of the current one (the lateness factor) and that I thought we should probably look into another cleaning service due to the inconveniences. Laura was great and paid for our cleaning so we decided to use them for a 4th cleaning. I received a phone call from Laura this past weekend to ask how they had done and confirm our cleaning this week. I told her that they had done a great job and that we could confirm this cleaning. That's when she let me know that there was an additional problem. She had come home and could not find the key to our house. She told me that she distinctly remembered that I had never given her a key to which I rebutted with... well then how did you get into my house the first two times without me there. She insinuated that it did not happen that way, but that she puts her clients first so she would agree with me. Then she went on about how she called her former girl who cleaned our house and she had no memory of having our key. I repeatedly let her know that they did have our key and that it was unacceptable that she no longer had it or knew where it was. For me, that was the last straw. Aside from being annoying, that is a huge safety concern for myself and my family. We told her we'd be changing the locks and no longer needed her services. Fast forward to this week when she calls to let me know that I was in fact right and that she had my key, but had misplaced it. That was it for me. I told her that I appreciated her calling to let me know, but that we had already changed our locks and would still not need her services. Overall, great prices, but not a well-run business. Laura's Cleaning Company is awesome! I have multiple friends that have been using Laura for years now, but I've never really had a need for a cleaning service...until recently. Life was increasingly getting more time consuming and my wife's sensitive allergies were getting the best of her. It was obvious to me that the time had come to invest in a cleaning service and I knew exactly who to reach out to. Laura's team is fantastic! They were right on time, friendly and paid close attention to detail. My kitchen appliances looked like they were right out of the box! My house was cleaner after they were done with it, than when I first moved in. Besides being physically totally clean, my house now smelled totally clean too (which really pleased the wife). The price was super competitive too! For those of you who are on the fence, as to whether or not to get a cleaning service; take my advice and give Laura a try. You won't be disappointed! read more

Amazing and great with dogs!! I've always taken great pride in the cleanliness of my house and have even enjoyed the cleaning process every week. I never imagined that I could find someone to clean my home and actually exceed my expectations! On a whim, I gave Laura's Cleaning Company a chance as my excessive work hours and three large dogs were taking a toll on my home. Initially I was simply hoping for an occasional clean, however after only one visit I was sold and now have Laura's come in each week. I gave them a basic list of chores and they more than doubled the tasks they perform. The cost was far more reasonable than I ever expected and after I put a price on the hours it took me to clean every week, I will never go back to cleaning my own home. And I now have an extra day each week to spend with my family and am much more comfortable with "pop-in" company!! Thanks, Laura! read more
