We have two cats. We were able to relax about their care -- knowing they were in their own home, and Maria (who is great, btw) sent us pictures after every visit. Things went very smoothly the entire time. The app could prob be a little easier to communicate through, that was the only challenge, which is hardly a challenge. If I could give them 10 stars, I would! I've used Laura's Critter Care several times and have been really impressed with them. When I come home from a trip. the cats are relaxed and happy - this is a key sign that they received good care and aren't stressed. I normally have the same sitter (shout out to Marilyn!) and she does a fantastic job of taking care of the cats and any messes they make. I love her daily visit logs with photos. It reassures me that they're being well cared for. One of my cats is a bit food-aggressive, but Marilyn manages this like the pro she is. I highly recommend Laura's Critter Care. We have been using them for years to look after our cats. The sitters are loving and caring, and the office staff is highly professional. When you first sign up, you can request a sitter from their list (some who have specialized skills such as givings pills or injections) or have one assigned. When your sitter is first assigned, if you like they will pay a visit to your house, without charge, to meet your pet and learn about its care. Whenver you request service, they will try to assign the same person if they are available, so you will get someone who is familiar with your pet and its routine. In addition to looking after your pet, the sitters may do small chores such as bringing in the mail and watering the plants. After their visit, the sitter will text and email you a report on what they did, including pictures. The sitters will often go beyond the written scope of their duties. During the last blizzard, when our street was impassable, our sitter trudged a block through chest high snow to make sure our cat was looked after. Animals can be be very good judges of people. We were jealous to hear that our newest cat, Meiriona, on her first visit with her sitter Lauren, jumped up on Lauren's lap and spent some quality time on the couch bonding. The office staff is very well organized. Whenever I send them a message they usually respond withing minutes. I'm in a long-distance relationship and I usually go out of town once a month for a couple of days. Since I live alone, I'm thrilled to have LCC's sitters taking care of my cat and dog (or sometimes just my cat, on occasions when my dog comes on the trip with me). The website is easy to use for scheduling/requesting visits. And I love getting the text updates and photos after each visit. Carrie is my usual sitter, and I can tell by the photos that my shy cat loves seeing her. I used Laura's Critter Care on 2 occasions & I was very pleased both times. The only issue I have is that you cannot talk to your sitter directly on the phone if there is a problem. It has to be handled through text which can be very difficult if you need to explain where things are located in the home. I have been a consistent client of Laura's Critter Care for over 3 years. I believe I was assigned a caregiver by where we live and we have a back up person as well. I would now consider Michelle as part of our family. My pups love her. They are never stressed when we get home and Michelle is always on the lookout for things as pet parents we might not always notice. If I could give a ZERO rating, I would! I would absolutely NOT recommend Laura's Critter Care! One of the many incidents we had with them is that our primary pet sitter, the one that should have been more available to us, was not available to care for our puppy for 3 weeks in a row. The backup sitter was available to cover for some of the occasions during that period, but at much different times than what we had requested. So our only option was either to accept that time, or to not have any care for our puppy for those days. The first week it happened, I assumed it was because I had to wait to get my son's work schedule before I could set a schedule with them, but, that had always been the case that I couldn't request the care until my son had received his work schedule. So, after this continued on for 3 weeks, I was starting to see a pattern of not having consistant care available for our puppy from our PRIMARY sitter, the one that should have been available to us. I messaged the company after this continued on for 3 weeks (as it hadn't happened before this), and asked Laura why is it that we haven't been able to get care from our primary pet sitter for 3 weeks now. Shortly afterwards, the primary pet sitter messaged me to say that due to her having a scheduled surgery back in February, her availability had since changed. Don't you think the company would have had plenty of notice to make other arrangements and assign a different primary pet sitter to us? Nope! It took until my asking, after seeing a consistent pattern of three weeks of their negligence before we could get a new primary pet sitter, and only after I brought it to their attention. We were only then assigned a different new primary pet sitter (now a 3rd key that I had to provide them with). Shortly after her replacement started, he was supposed to come to our home one Tuesday, but when I did not receive the daily report from him as the sitters send out at the conclusion of each visit, and noticed that almost 1 1/2 hours had past from the time he was supposed to be there, I again messaged the company to ask if he had been there yet because I had yet to receive the report for that day from him indicating that the visit had been concluded. The only answer they offered me was that he was delayed. When I came right out to ask exactly why was he delayed in getting to our home to let our puppy out, Laura, the owner, told me that he "was looking at the wrong day." Looking at the wrong day? Really?? So, it was clear to me that had I not messaged the company to see why he had not been to our home yet, he would not have come at all. So, unless you can eat your words and never point out any shortcomings that you have with the pet sitter or the company, I would definitely not recommend them! Following my stating my concern over this last incident, the owner messaged me "ending their relationship" with us because they "do not want complaints." The action of terminating services in order to avoid complaints displays a priority to avoiding accountability and criticism over their delivering of reliable customer service. They chose to terminate us as clients rather than addressing and correcting the issue because they "don't want complaints." Laura's Critter Care is unreliable, unprofessional, and only practice a HUGE lack of any accountability! The negligence that we experienced with Laura's Critter Care all happened in only four months of us being with the company, from February 2022 - June 2022. You really shouldn't play Russian Roulette with your pet's care and risk the chance of your experience to be like the one we had, or possibly even worse! Our puppy is our baby and is a part of our family, and means much too much to us to stay with a company that repeatedly displayed negligence, unaccountability, and extremely poor customer service! You wouldn't trust a babysitter for your child with a track record like that, so don't chance it with you pet! read more

The cat-sitters spread conjunctivitis to my kitten due to poor hygiene practices while attending other pets and then pretended like nothing was wrong with her, even though I immediately spotted something very clearly wrong with her eye the second I returned from my trip. I questioned them about it and all they said was and I quote: "I'm sorry that you're upset." I'm the one that should be sorry to my kitten for paying these bozos to go on and neglect the only good thing I've ever had in my life. They cost me a lot on vet bills. When I demanded financial compensation from Laura, she requested to stop contact without any further explanation. I refused to comply. She then threatened to call the police on me if I were to message her again. If you're into paying premium prices for a pet bacteria and illness spreading service, this is the right place for you. I thought I would have an issue with handing my keys over to a total stranger, but our pet sitter, Marilyn, immediately put me at ease. Just got off the phone with Laura's Critter Care. We have now paid them approx. $130.00 for nothing. The first $60 or so I can understand, as we canceled the service the day it was supposed to begin when our plans changed. I got a message stating this was "in the contract you signed blah blah blah." Not a very friendly message, but it was in the contract, blah blah blah. The second $70 I have more of a problem with. My wife had put down a deposit for Thanksgiving week. Unaware of this, I subsequently asked a neighborhood kid to feed the cats and lizards for $50 and he accepted. My wife called Laura's and was told our deposit was nonrefundable. This is Thanksgiving week, it was in the contract, blah blah blah blah. We're not leaving, and the service was not due to begin, for two weeks. I'm sorry, but in the interests of customer satisfaction, I think Laura's should refund our deposit. Yes, I'm sure it's in the contract, but plans change, and snippily quoting contract language when your customer is calling two weeks before service begins just made me angry. I won't be using this company again. I don't like their policies, and I don't like their unprofessional mannerisms. read more

We just used Laura's Critter Care for the first time to care for our 6 pets (2 large dogs, 2 senior cats, and 2 Guinea pigs) for a week. We could not be happier with the care our fur babies received. We had Beth and Erica. Beth was the primary sitter and she went above and beyond our expectations. She walked our dogs every visit and sent us the sweetest pictures of all the animals every time she went to the house. When we got home, the room the dogs stay in had been cleaned and fresh sheets on the dog beds, the guinea pig cage was clean, and the area around their cage swept. All our mail was organized and sorted by day on the kitchen table. It was such a relief to come home to happy, well taken care of animals, and not have to do a bunch of cleaning. Instead we were able to just enjoy the reunion with our sweet fur babies. We have already booked for the next time we need a pet sitter and I am thinking of adding some dog walking during the days when I'm at work. I will definitely be requesting Beth and Erica. We have tried a couple of different pet sitting companies here in WNY. We have had constant challenges with them both. Dog walkers not showing, several different dog walkers coming to our home without us being informed and having met them etc. My husband and I have been appalled at how unprofessional the employees are from these other companies.
