I was immediately registered and while I was finishing up, a nurse was calling me back to triage. Once we were done there, I went back out to the lobby to wait. There were only 3 other people in the waiting room. Two of them appeared to be student athletes. X-rays were done approximately 30 minutes later. We waited around 1 1/2 - 2 hours before being escorted to the exam room. Someone came in to go over the events of my injury and said she'd go look at the x-rays. We waited for another 1 1/2 - 2 hours before they came to wrap my foot, let me know there were no fractures/breaks, gave me a prescription and sent me on my way. We were there for approximately 4 hours. I will say that I'm glad that my injury was not so severe that I needed to be a high priority for the ER staff. Shortly before I left, someone came in that had sounded like they just been in a car accident. I won't complain about wait times. If my wait is short, the injury or health issue is severe. Although I would have much rather been at home in bed sleeping than spending 4 hours at the ER for something minor, I'm glad my foot problem didn't necessitate being seen sooner. Counting my blessings and thankful for every staff member I encountered being so kind and caring.

And no, it's not because she had any procedures pending. I called to speak to her care team, which they failed to speak to me or call me back and admitted to throwing my number away. I have her medical power of attorney, which they have on file. She had been in patient for seven days, and had yet to have any bathing services and had not had dental cleaning (ie brushing of teeth) in over four days. If this was a provider that was in home or a family member, this would be considered neglect and criminal. So not let your loved ones get "care" at this facility or at affiliated doctors. .

I am blessed because I've experienced worse on other military installations and civilian care. Be your own advocate and speak up if you feel something is not right.
