Train stations little to rave about in general so for me I'm just looking for basic needs to be…read moreprovided: shelter, availability to ticket machines and proper/ safe access to platforms. This station does at the most basic level. The entrance to the station has 2 machines which seems to manage the traffic well. For the most part they are always working and accepting both cash and cards. The station is well lit and the staircases have been upgraded lately. However, there are no elevators/escalators so if you're travelling with a stroller or luggage the stairs can be brutal. Shelter is a basic cover which has about 6 seats and then two outdoors sets of about 4 seats. Again, very no frills.

This station is like most on the LIRR outdoors. It has decent enclosed shelter. It's normally clean…read more. I cannot blame the LIRR for the slobs that smoke or drink and leave rubbish behind. This is a older station so expect no elevators and about 15 steps to climb I think the Rosedale station and I know Jamaica has elevators. Make sure you buy your tickets prior to boarding or you get hit with a surcharge that could double your ticket price. Then the ride on average 22 minutes vs 1.15 and bus train combo Cost is on average 4 times more than regular transit during rush hour west or east off peak about 2.5 times more. This line is on the RockAway branch weekdays and Long Beach weekends. Also effective November 2012 I know this station is undergoing a overhaul so some exits may be closed

They're on the right track. (giggle)…read more So glad they offer this service. Super easy to get to other terminals, car rentals, or hotel shuttles. And, if you are trying to get to the city, the Air Train is more reliable, faster, and predictable than taxis and rideshare at a fraction of the cost (and sometime more spacious or comfortable). Plus, it's luggage friendly and accessible. And they don't need to know your name. If you're confused, you need to take the smooth, magnetic Air Train to exit the airport to either Howard Beach to catch the A train or to Jamaica for the E, J, or Z train (or the Long Island Rail Road direct to Grand Central or Penn Station for $5.25-$7.25). To get directions in reverse back to the airport, just hold this review up to a mirror. Ideally, it would be great to have a direct link from airport to city, like Chicago, Atlanta, DC, San Francisco, Cleveland, Salt Lake City, St. Louis, and Minneapolis and Portland (and Seattle if you walk 1000 feet), but I still appreciate the "two-seat" system because the signage is super easy. You can jump off your plane and follow the yellow signs straight to the air train, pay at the turnstile, and be on a train within 15 minutes anytime of the day. As of June 2026, it's $8.75 for the Air Train, and $3 for the subway. Pro Tip: If you are heading to Terminal 8 from the city, get off the train at Terminal 1, walk across the platform, and catch the clockwise "All Terminals" to catch it in 1 (not 5) stops.

For $8.50 this a terrific alternative, plus the $3 cost of a subway ride, over a cab or Uber charging a ridiculous amount. Good signage and easy directions, along with screens showing the train schedule which runs 8-10 minutes or so. Staff is here to assist with any problems or questions. Pay by credit card, OMNY, or mobile app. Easy peasy. Also, it's free travel from terminal to terminal in case you have time to kill and want to use one of the lounges in a different one than which you're flying out of.

JFK is large and spread out, with multiple terminals connected by the AirTrain system. Moving between terminals can take time, so planning ahead is important for connections. Security and immigration was relatively easy and connecting was straightforward

They charge $5 for every bag at curbside check-in; and they got rid of the check-in counters inside, and force people to do their own check-in and bag tags via a kiosk..... then, without any guidance or signs or helpful customer service teams, you (as the paying customer) have to find a baggage handler who can double-check your "check-in luggage" and scan your boarding passes and your ids and then weigh your bags and finally push them through the belt. It's a f*cking hot mess. People all over the place, getting frustrated, not knowing which way to go; not knowing who to ask; not knowing how to proceed. WHY NOT JUST HAVE A NORMAL CHECK-IN COUNTER/line and stop the madness!?! :( It's no wonder all the JetBlue customer service team are GROUCHY AF and all of them act like they HATE their lives. Zero smiles, zero customer service and no care whatsoever. The JetBlue I knew and loved is LONG GONE...... this process SUCKS. And after wasting almost an hour just to check-in our luggage (yes, the lines were that SLOW) --the so-called "PRIORITY LANE" takes another hour just to go through TSA check. JFK/Jetblue should DO BETTER!! BE BETTER!! We're all paying you top dollar for your so-called "excellent customer service" --WHERE DID IT GO?!? The only reason we put 2 stars is because the TSA agent was funny and tried to be positive......a big thank you to him. And another star for our flight attendant who was super friendly and polite. She was the ONLY ONE (out of 4 FAs)who smiled and kept people on the positive vibes. The other flight attendants and "customer service" agents were just grumpy AF and had perpetual frowns on their faces. JFK / JETBLUE = FAIL
