Tried to book an appointment, and the front desk lady insisted that they were not in my network. Name is clearly listed under network providers for our insurance. I've been going to this vision center for 5+ years and have never had any issues until today. Man. I was disappointed here!! Google had great reviews. Definitely not my experience! I walked in and checked in. No pens and papers. Just white board and markers to sign things. Super odd. The front desk girls didn't stop giggling the entire time and had trash music playing. They came to get me and said the wrong name. I said that wasn't me...they had the entirely wrong file. 10 mins later after they got the right info, I was taken back and asked if I wanted all of these tests that cost extra. Just wasn't a fan!! 100% Waste of time. Staff was not courteous enough to notify patients that even with an appointment the Dr. was behind by more than an hour!!! Seriously just had me wait until 4:50pm (after I arrived early) for a 3:45pm appointment. Needless to say at that point and still not "next" to see the Dr. and a closing time of 5pm approaching, I asked to not have my insurance billed for this annual visit so I could go somewhere else. A staff member had already packed and left and there were at least three more patients including myself yet to be seen. I couldn't believe they would allow patients to wait an hour post appointment time to tell them there was a problem. I could have easily rescheduled and been a happy customer. Common courtesy would be to notify patrons of any delays during check in. During the extended wait in the overcrowded reception area (where they had to being more chairs from the back rooms due to the extremely long visits) I had time to check my provider info, find another Dr. in network and book an appointment. read more

As a follow-up to my previous review: I was contacted by the one of the company's Principals regarding my experience and review. I was informed my visit was not typical and the treatment and rational for the charges were insufficient. Based upon the conversation with the gentlemen who contacted me and his explanation of how things should have transpired, I am now completely satisfied with my visit. The personal outreach and assurance my future visits will end in total customer satisfaction goes a long way with me. It also shows the caring and concern for The Woodlands Eye Professionals' customers. I look forward to my next annual examination and plan to be a long time customer. My additional 2 cents. Greg T. The OD did a very good and comprehensive exam and I was completely comfortable with his care. In fact, I have been coming here for a few years and Mr. Thomas seems to be one of the best. However, the charges and rational for them given to me by the ladies who work the front desk, were and are a bit suspect. Specifically, the charge for a contact "fitting,:" which cost me an additional $100. I questioned them as to why I was charged the additional fee when I did not have a "fitting," still had contacts sold to me by them, etc. At first the young lady said it was because additional examination was required, which had not taken place, mind you. Then she danced around and finally said it was because they had to "renew" the prescription and it was an annual charge. Filled out their survey and have asked to be contacted. The assistant was very nice and clear and the eye doctor was very sweet and thorough. I explained that the last eye exam I went to didn't give me a strong enough prescription and I wasn't sure if it was because I didn't give them the right answers or not. She said that they didn't give me the right prescription for my astigmatism which might cause bad night vision. And I had in fact had weak night vision since my eye last exam/glasses. She made sure that my new glasses were not going to be the same prescription as my old ones. And the rest of the staff was very nice, clear, and accommodating. Definitely recommend. The only problem was finding the place but thats because its the Woodlands and its on Market Street. lol. Park in the middle of the back of the HEB parking lot. I booked an appointment and they said it was going to take 45min an hour to be seen. Becuase they double booked with walk ins. I was told on the phone appointments are priority not walk ins so it best to book appointment I guess that's not true. I will never make another follow-up with 'The Woodlands Eye Professionals'; some of their staff, in my experience one year ago, were very argumentative and combative. Their form of apology then was to give me a box of contacts for free. Today is my one-year + 1 day anniversary of my written prescription, and I got a call reminding me of the need to make an appointment for an eye exam. This to me appears as unethical, because I could have ordered through them right up to my anniversary day - 1 day, and still used my original prescription; but I lost track of the prescription until when they called one day too late. I was there with my family 3 of us had appointments, I was going to do a walk-in appointment. After she supposed looked up my insurance. I was magically out of network, but written on their door and window was my insurance company. The ADA need to look in to them for discrimination. I think she saw my can and did not want to help me. Terrible. I've been a patient for YEARS n I've just had enough. Your eyes are IMPORTANT and they don't care. Entire staff is whiney and unprofessional except for the doctor. Carla in particular is a liar and avoids doing her job and Jennifer the "manager" hides behind her untrained employees, doesn't even acknowledge you as an actual person... you're just some appointment that showed up. They can't be bothered to be nice to you and when you start getting sick of the treatment they're still not empathetic or even sympathetic, making it even more frustrating. Even when you have an appointment and nobody is there it still take an additional 30 mins to even see the doctor. Plus they charge outrageous costs and yet somehow can't afford to keep the office clean. The floors are disgusting and they barely clean any of the equipment. Only the doctor seems kind but got to talk to them for 10 mins though with no prescription or assistance for my eye infection. If I could go back and only talk to the doctor I would. By the way, once they get a hold of your phone number, expect the rude lifeless girls to call you constantly throughout the year to badger you to make an appointment. I've witnessed these things the last 5 times I've been here and the only thing that kept me coming back was Dr Thomas. He is no longer here and like I said the new doctor seemed nice but the whole staff hates their lives and apparently take it out on patients who are already struggling with their eyes. I will not be coming back, mostly bc of how rude Carla was on the phone. Just because you don't know how to do you job it doesn't give you the right to lie and then INTERRUPT ME just bc you don't want to hear my feedback on the terrible experience?? Well then, I'll go straight to yelp/google. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS ITS AN ABSOLUTE LAST RESORT. Even then, you'll prob be better off at Urgent care or driving an hour to Houston. So I get multiple email reminders to set up my appointment.. so I do... show up hour early and was told I'm not on the schedule ... in the preceding weeks I'm bombarded with at least 5 text confirmation and then reminders.. and three emails.. I show up and they can't find me on the schedule and the girls upfront decide they can't have me seen at my appointment time which is still an hour away or plus minus an hour .... thank you for wasting my morning. GREAT PLACE! The staff greeted me properly, Dr. Nguyen was very thorough with my exam and answered all my questions. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE ADDITIONAL TESTING FOR DILATION! Went here a couple od years ago and did not like the staff that was there before. The LensCrafters next to it is my favorite place for glasses but the Doctor's office was less than satisfactory. Come to find out there is a new Doctor there with a whole new staff... Love the atmosphere and the kind people helping me throughout the process. I didn't feel like I was being ripped off or mislead. Wonderful location, great doctor, and caring employees! LensCrafters next to the doctors office had a great selection of glasses and sunglasses. I ended up getting two pairs for a reasonable price. My negative review here should be clearly stated that it has nothing to do with the people that work in the clinic. The technicians, receptionists, and doctor that I saw were nice, courteous, and kind. However, the wait time was inexcusable. I saw the eye doctor about 80 minutes after my scheduled appointment. Everyone was kind and courteous but a wait time that long is a lapse in management and not acceptable. They did comp a service that I initially planned to pay for which was nice but still does not make up for the time I spent waiting. The people I dealt with were all friendly and I understand that they were just doing their job but the fact I waited so long lead to a frustrating experience. read more

I contacted The Woodlands Eye Professionals and they had a week's worth of daily wear contacts waiting for me when I arrived into town. No charge. Don't use their online booking tool to make your appointment! I booked online, took off work to make the appointment and they said I didn't have an appointment when I arrived. This apparently is a known issue and they still allow online bookings. read more

I was referred to this place by a co-worker and was glad that I did. I even brought my entire family the week after, I am very pleased with the great service and customer care. Everyone in the office is friendly and knowledgeable, which makes coming to eye checkups a pleasant experience. One thing I especially love about this place is that they offer a greater variety of contact lens brands and the Doctor offers the opportunity to test them out and find one that is the best suited for you. I had been using Acuvue Oasys for a long time because many Optometrists only carry few brands but I learned that there were better and newer brands out there that were readily available at the office for me to test. Some of the newer brands last longer and are healthier for the eyes than the Acuvue Oasys brand I had been using. They have great technology, I did the Optos and the ClearPath machine in addition to my eye check up. All in all, great experience and highly recommended. read more

Excellent staff from the Dr.'s office (Dr. Phan helped me) to the actual store. It was my first time ever getting glasses so I was a little lost and moving slowly. My associate was very patient and kept helping me with suggestions. The best part was when I had it narrowed down to a few, she totally left me alone so I wouldn't feel rushed or judged.
