Our family had our Garage Door replaces approximately 5 years ago. Right at the 5 year mark our…read moregarage ceased to work. It began to bend and bow, becoming unusable. Once this happened we contacted Dover and Company and they did not respond to us at all. It was at this point that we started a complaint with the BBB. We then reached back out to the company and they were willing to talk to us at that point. The owner stated that he would be willing to replace the garage door at cost. We indicated that moving forward with that option was not the company taking any responsibility they stated that they would be willing to replace the springs exchanging them with their heavier springs at their expense. We agreed to that and moved forward with getting them replaced. When the technicians from Dover come to our home they did not have the heavier and springs they tried to replace the existing springs with the same weight of springs that we had originally. The technician mentioned it and when we brought up the issue he had to contact his company to get the go ahead to replace the springs. Once that took place, the door was still not able to close. The Technician left at that point. We still did get a bill for this replacement!!! That is a large issue. Not only was it almost impossible to obtain meaningful assistance and a willingness to accept some accountability from Dover and Company but the replacement work was not what we were promised and then we received a bill when it was not warranted nor was the job completed. Dover and Company has proven to be not only dishonest but also does not stand behind their work.

I used this company for a new roof in my old house. We were very happy with them. So I called to…read morehave a window replacement and large sliding glass door replaced in our new home. The salesman showed up on time, was helpful, scheduled the measurements very promptly, everything was going well. I received updates on the progress of my order and finally the install date was set, 9/8. I received a call a few days before the initial install to reschedule because the contractor ran into some unexpected complication at the current job and it was going to run over. We set a new date for 9/18. Today, 9/10 I received another apologetic call from 1-800-Hansons asking to reschedule, because the scheduler did not realize the contractor was not going to be working that week! Long story short , it is now scheduled for 9/23. I spoke to a scheduling "manager" who was less than helpful. I am not eligible for any money off for my inconvenience of already having somebody move furniture out of the way, or the frustration of not having a product that I have already put a decent down payment on and have had to reschedule TWICE, because they can't get their act together with their contractors! She did not budge on trying to schedule a different contractor so the install could occur on the first rescheduled date. All she would say is that I have been given plenty of notice and she will reschedule with me. I can hardly wait to see what idiot shows up for the install. I have lost all confidence in this company. I told her I am putting a bad review on Yelp and my social media. I feel like they are just not organized, don't care about me as a customer, and don't even care about bad reviews. I hope I am happy with their product if they ever find a reliable contractor to do the install. Do not use this company! They grew too big for their britches and don't care about small orders.

Totally disgusted with the quality and service of Pella Windows. They were more than happy to sell…read moreme my windows and doors and we have had nothing but problems with our doors ever since. First, they required their installer, not our builder, to put in the windows and doors to be covered by warranty. Now, here we are 5 years after the build and our doors don't work and our doors are only used 3 months of the year as this is a summer cottage. You have to wait MONTHS to schedule an appointment. We called in June to say that the door lock was not working. They showed up August 9th with the wrong parts and now tell us we can't get the installer back until September 25th. We have to lock the door from the inside and go out another door to open the door every day. This is a fire hazard and yet they tell us they can't do anything about it. Please, save your money and your energy and go to another window company. Pella will take your money, but has NO interest in standing by their product or helping you get it fixed.
