This is right behind my work and I love the convenience of being able to throw in my blankets to be washed while I work. Their big industrial machines easily fit 2-3 blankets in one cycle. Love that I don't have to worry about dealing with change and that you can load money onto a card and simply insert the card into the machine. Establishment is always clean and staff is on site at all times. read more

I wasn't too happy that my apartment didn't have a washer and dryer onsite and that I'd have to take my laundry to a laundromat. After a little bit of searching, I came across Lava Dora, and I've never looked back. The facility is always clean. The owners have exceptionally high standards. They are usually onsite, and when they're not, the staff knows that they are expected to meet these standards. The area is not the best (near a thrift store, a Goodwill, and several low-rent apartments), but the owners keep the place clean and they watch the customers who come in pretty closely. I also love that the machines don't use quarters. They use a debit card system that is much more convenient than quarter-based systems. read more

This is probably one of the best places to do laundry. The washers and dryers are clean and kept well maintained. The laundrymat itself is very clean. There is always someone on stsff to help you if you run into any problems or need change. They have vending machines with laundry detergents, etc. as well as vending machines with snacks and beverages, a bathroom for customers which is also very clean. Magazines if you want to read and a television to watch while you are there. They also provide laundry services for those who dont want to do their own laundry. I recommend this place to anyone needing a laundrymat. read more

My hours suck the place says 6:30 they are open every day. This place has never been opened on time minimum of 15-30 min late and on the weekends you can sleep in because this place runs like your actually in mexico at the time of whenever the hell whos working shows up. There is no control over how many washers or dryers you can take up so the same five families show up at the same time and they WILL take every washer and dryer and get pissed at you for it. read more

I won't go anywhere else. I have machines where I live but I prefer Lavadora because of the owner, who takes pride in hiring helpful friendly staff, the staff for being the type of people you can be friendly with, the machines are cleaned throughout the day, regularly, the work spaces are also fully maintained. The people who go there are overall nice and friendly-no fighting over dryers because there are plenty to go around and this is the kind of place where people are just nice to each other. Doing laundry is a major task but doing it in a comfortable, safe environment is the best possible scenario. Nearby businesses and eateries are great places to spend time while you clothes are drying. You can even get you hair done or nails done as they are right there. Kings Donuts is right there too. They also have an onsite laundry service where you pay by the pound at its washed then dried and then folded for you. Downsides are super minor. Local extremely mobile homeless occasionally hang out nearby and there is a Hooka lounge that is busy in the evenings after dinner. Otherwise this is a great place for laundry. read more

I've been using this Laundromat since my family moved to Concord 6 months ago. The machines are new, the place is clean and the folks working there have been very friendly UNTIL TODAY! I arrived at the Laundromat at 8:30pm and started washing my clothes. By 9:35ish I started folding, but I had a few loads so it took me a little time. The business closes at 10pm so the Janitor closed the door at 10pm, and then told me to leave because he needed to mop the floors. I asked him to give me a few minutes as I needed to finish packing my clothes, however, at 10:05pm I was kicked out of the place, with him yelling at me and telling me to get out! He also told me that he didn't want to see me there again! At 10:07 pm (I looked at their clock), I was standing in front of the Laundromat waiting for my husband to pick me up, feeling disrespected and insulted! Was this really necessary? I recommended this place to some of my friends before, but I'd not recommend it again. It was a very unpleasant experience!! read more

This laundromat is the best! The place is kept very clean. They are continously cleaning and disinfecting the equipment. The lint filters are vacuumed out twice per day. The counter tops are clean and spacious. We go at least once per week all the way from Clayton. No need for a washer and dryer when you can conveniently visit Lava Dora. read more

Reading the reviews, and knowing parts of the area, I assumed this place would be like walking into Skid Row. I was greatly mistaken though. While the plaza this facility is located in is nothing special (next to what appeared to be a completely empty barber shop so plenty of parking), the inside is quite nice. Everything looks really new, both the machines and the granite finish on the counter tops. The floors looked very new too, as well as the bathrooms. The tables to fold your laundry after you dry it were long enough that a lot of people could have their own space without bumping elbows with someone next to them. I also liked they had a sink in the front of the building to wash your hands or to wash any excess soap that dripped down your detergent container. Like mentioned previously, the lower the temperature you select on the washing machine, the cheaper it is. I paid under $10 for a rather large bin of clothes plus sheets, and only had to use the medium sized machines for both. The debit card you use for laundry services (and the bathroom, free with the card) is a little tricky; after you put your money in for a new card, if you don't put it all in quickly, the machine spits out a card with no money on it. I learned this after the helpful attendant showed me and told me how to get a new card. It's on some type of timer or something. So after I caught up on Hardcore Pawn on the tv they have mounted to the wall above the washing machines, I ventured over to the drying section for phase 2. $.25 for 8 mins, I did it for 40 minutes but my clothes weren't completely dry, so I suggest close to an hour for larger loads. All in all, I was looking for a place close to work, and this laundromat does it for me. read more

I'm new to laundromats, but this place was great. The first few times I just found the closest place to my home which was a mistake. I found poorly running machines at really high prices, but after reading the reviews on Yelp I drove down the road to Lava Dora and I can't wait to go back ! This is one of the friendliest and cleanest laundromats I have ever seen. Washers and dryers are maintained well, no need for quarters here!! They use a fancy card system like the ones you get at a hotel. Always a laundry attendant if you need help. They also have a vending machine that dispenses soap and what not just in case you forget. If you're ever in a bind and need a laundromat come here! It's not scary or dirty at all, such a wonderful surprise! read more

Ok, you can believe all the great reviews for this place. I now have first-hand knowledge. The reason I came to Lava Dora is because the two places in Pleasant Hill are an absolute joke compared to lava Dora. My tale begins as an early morning visit with two items: A fluffy king comforter and a king mattress pad. I put the mattress pad in a medium machine and the comforter in a large machine. The comforter did well, the mattress pad did not as good. Since it was being washed by itself, it didn't spin out correctly The gentleman running the place came right over and knew what was going on. He explained to me that the mattress pad bottom and top were both holding water inside and it would never spin fully out. He then very graciously allowed me to spin it in the larger machine free of charge. That got it better but not great. The gentleman then instructed me on how to properly dry items without causing damage to them. Everything worked out and I now have more knowledge of how to wash my items thanks to this business. The machines are indeed nearly brand-new and they do keep them completely clean. This is exactly how you should run a laundromat. They deserve to be absolutely as successful as they are. read more

This is one of my favorite businesses to visit. They always have very interesting and friendly staff who will gladly talk to you about whatever you want. -1 star for no wifi in 2016. Seriously, not cool guys. 1.25/lb for wash&fold, minimum 10 lbs. ATM is broken-bring cash/quarters if you're that kind of person. Please ask the skinny middle aged woman working the counter about mass and weight and to double check she is getting the correct measurements and calculations for your drop off laundry. This really is as good as a laundromat gets. I don't go to laundromats often, maybe 3-4 times a year. But this place is great. I had about 4 loads to do since it has been a few weeks since I'd had time for laundry. I found this place on Yelp and decided to try it. I took my heavy bag of quarters only to realize that you don't use them. There is a card machine, where you put in bills ($1, $5, $10, $20) and get an EZ Card. You then use that for the machines, the soap dispensers, even as the key for the bathrooms (which are immaculate, by the way). And it's cheap! For $9.90, I washed and dried 4 loads of laundry plus bought the detergent for them. 25 cents gets you 8 minutes in the driers (typical pricing) - except it took only 40 minutes to dry ALL 4 of my loads in one huge drier on medium heat. I couldn't believe it. Better than most home driers, plus it took me only 90 minutes for all 4 loads of laundry. Can't beat that. Staff is friendly, place is clean. Only drawback is the part of town this place is in - while I was folding my laundry, a young couple started fighting, loudly and violently, which resulted in her pulling her car behind his in the parking lot to block him in. This also blocked me in, as he was parked next to me. In short, don't go here at night, because if that stuff happens at 1pm on a Monday, I don't want to know what goes on after dark. read more

One of the great things about this Laundromat is that it doesn't overcrowd like so many Laundromats in Concord. Some Laundromats are notorious for customers that walk in with numerous loads of laundry and hog up a good portion of the Laundromat. I think this Laundromat is a well-kept secret and I hope it stays that away. Another advantage is that it's always possible to find parking. I used to visit a Laundromat on Contra Costa Blvd, but if I didn't visit very early in the morning it was sometimes literally impossible to find parking. It got to the point I was getting up at 6am to get to the laundry before it became crowded with cars. One time I had to return home because there was absolutely no parking. That small shopping center was so poorly planned. Lava Dora has been my most favorite Laundromat for several months now. I live very close to two other Laundromats which are always very crowded with people with large families. I'm more than willing to drive a couple of miles further to avoid the crowds. I also love that I am able to use a card which I can refill, and there's always an attendant there that can help out with whatever you may need. read more

The best laundromat I have ever seen!! Very clean, and over 30 washers of several different sizes, and over 30 dryers with a few different sizes!! No coins needed, you get a special card, similar to a BART card, that you put a certain amount of money on, and you keep the card, and add more money when you need it, so say goodbye to having to get quarters!! There is always an employee available to help, and answer any questions, and a vending machine sells snacks and beverages. I come here usually once every 2 months when I need to wash my big blankets, or if I don't feel like waiting for the washers and dryers in my apartment complex laundry room to become available. I also live right up the street from it, so it is very close to home!! read more

Lava Dora is an amazing laundromat! We went there after not having using a laundromat is many years, and the guy who was working was so nice and helpful it was great. The place was very clean and well stocked. We went on a friday night and it was pretty empty. The only thing that wasnt great was that I thought I read that they take debit cards but they dont so we had to go get some cash. But seriously, this place is great. My fiance and I went there in a crappy mood (bcs we didnt want to go to the laundromat and we had a ton of dirty stuff to wash) and the staff guy was so super nice and friendly that he made it super easy, helped us figure out the cheapest way to wash all of our stuff, and totally put us in a good mood.
