I never post to complain about anyone or businesses. HOWEVER.... I want this small town to know exactly what happened today. My daughter wanted to have a one on one day to get our nails done. I have been going to Lava Nails since they have been in business. We went in today and I was told they would do my daughter's nails but would not do mine because I called last year and said I would do them at home! I have no idea what they are talking about nor did this ever happen! I have been told for years that others won't go there because they are rude. Not worth the money. Staff is quick and do not pay attention to their quality of service. They set a timer for your message, 3 minutes for both feet. Shortest pedicure message ever! They just want to rush on to the next customer. My friend and I were the only two people in the Pedicure chairs, my pedi finished first so I ask if I could just stay in the pedi chair and chat with my friend while she finished and I was told no, even though no one else was waiting. I had to move to the dryer. I don't even like this place, I literally only came to hang with my girlfriend, so much for that. They also make you feel like they're talking about you the entire time, judging eyes and all! No thanks. The best pedi in Athens is Jimmy at Da-vi nails inside Walmart. read more

This has got to be the best place in Athens to get your nails done. If you do go (and you should), request Scott! He was awesome, super kind, and did a great job. He went above and beyond, made sure he understood what I wanted, and clarified how much it was going to be before he started. I will definitely be returning. I am a very picky person when it comes to nail salons and this place exceeded my expectations. I came here to get my eyebrows done and my nails done but the lady who did my eyebrows didn't even try waxing she just cleaned them but when I told her I didn't like them and I wanted them fixed she said no and laughed but then after asking repeatedly she finally did and when I asked the lady about my nails she said they would have to take them off and redo them which is way more expensive and I told her that I had just got them done three weeks ago but she told me then go back to the place where I got them done the first time! They are so rude and I will never come back here again! read more

This is one of the worst nail salons I've EVER been to. I have never been to a business that was so rude and nasty to their customers. Also..BEWARE. I had a family member offer to get my daughter a pedicure prior to 8th grade graduation. She had a nail color picked that matched the dress she is wearing tonight. She came home upset because the tech started painting her nails. Said he didn't like the color. Took it off and then went over and got another color he said would look better. Pink glitter! My daughter hates pink glitter. She was too shy to say anything to anyone but is upset now and I can't say I blame her. If you pay $40 for a pedicure and the customer picks a color it's for a reason. Don't go against what the customer wants and is paying you for. That's extremely RUDE! We will not be back. read more

I loved it here. I got the lava pedicure and it was well worth the money. Very relaxing experience and my feet, legs and toes look AWESOME.

Worst pedicure ever!!! I could have done better at home. So much more interested in setting a 20 minute timer, slopping polish on and getting you out of the chair. The tech did not have a name tag on so I'm not sure of her name but she was terrible!!! My toenails are crooked, the polish barely goes to the edge of the nail bed and the sad fact is they weren't even busy so there was no excuse for such sloppy service! I will NEVER go back there and I will urge anyone that's considering this salon to cross it off their list!! read more

Went to Lava Nails couple weeks ago it was good . Got a pretty good pedicure & manicure. So decided to go today.......BIG MISTAKE! WILL NEVER GO BACK! My nail on my right foot was not filed well ,it was slanted ask them to straighten it up for me & another girl came over after the girl that was doing by manicure spoke to her in their native tongue. The girl came stomping over there & raised her voice and ask what I needed I then raised my voice & told her I needed a file , I need my nail straighted up. I got so mad when she raised her voice I just made the girl that was doing my manicure stop she hadn't started putting polish on them yet so I paid 93 dollars & left . My granddaughter got a manicure & acrylics & they charged 10 dollars extra to shape them in a point! They said they were not busy because it was raining ..... WRONG.....there not busy cause they are rude & do a terrible job & get mad when you call em on It! I'll never go back there & I suggest you find another place to get manis & pedis. Also my nails are different lengths on my toes & fingers. ......Im honestly not picky but the job they did is beyond terrible then the rudeness on top of the terrible job is to much for me to ever go back I honestly don't know how they stay in business it's obvious they are use to people getting mad they acted as if they were afraid I wasn't going to pay them! If I want a gel manicure I will sometimes come here its good but I will NEVER get another pedicure. Pedicures are so rough I have tears in my eyes instead of relaxing. Seriously, I'm not tender footed Lava is only pedicures I've ever had that physically cause me pain. They actually drew blood the last time and I said never again! I tried several times because its so pretty inside and I like their massage chairs but between the pain and the fact that no one will smile in this place I will go somewhere else. I have been going to Lava Nail and Spa for several years and they are the best in Athens, Tn. They are very professional and courteous. The nail salon is very clean. My nails always look great! Plus, I get my eyebrows waxed there and they always do a great job on them. I am really glad we have such a nice nail salon in Athens. Though they are very quick about getting with walk in's and quick with doing the nails... that isn't always the best thing. I have been here for gel pedicures as well as manicure and I always have bubbles from where they don't let them dry entirely, always have sloppy polish and they are eager to get finished so they can sit around on their devices.
