We hired Stephanie for our florals for our wedding and were extremely happy with the service. There was a little back and forth with the contracts and questions about final pricing but that was mostly due to me changing some arrangements. The florals at our wedding were all real. We also rented candlesticks that went on the guest dinner tables. We had a couple in person meetings, first to show her my ideas and talk about design, colors, pricing and then within a month of our wedding to look at a sample arrangement and see if any changes needed to be made. She had a couple options for me to look at and I was very happy with the outcome and my florals on our big day. We had no issue contacting Stephanie for changes to our florals. If you want to be stressed, scammed and swindled - Lavender and Lace Wedding Florist is for you. We hired her for our wedding at Historic Venue 1902. After putting our deposit down, that is when all the issues started to unfold. Communication with Stephanie was a nightmare in that the proposals were inaccurate, lacked details, things were misspelled, the descriptions didn't match what we asked for, and it took her several times to correct the quantity of items we needed, amongst a slew of other issues. We had to go back and forth with her multiple times requesting for things to be fixed and requested a more detailed description of what we'd be getting. For reference we hired her for all real flowers (minus one arrangement), and our floral bill certainly reflected ALL REAL FLORALS. She showed up to our wedding with fake greenery which we were not made aware of until after our wedding day when we looked at pictures and spoke to family members. Her excuse was "I never said they were going to be real", even though her proposal never said that. Floral arrangements were misplaced and put in totally different locations than what we asked for resulting in no flowers displayed in a lot of our professional photos. We reached out to Stephanie after the wedding to see if she would rectify the situation and not only did she defend her position and not acknowledge a word we said, she replied with "you are over the top and need to enjoy your honeymoon and let me be". We felt completely scammed. The main reason we hired her is because she was recommended by the venue and we trusted it enough to not look at reviews before we hired. After we experienced all these issues we looked at her reviews and were not shocked to see other couples had experienced the same things and there were a ton of 1 star reviews for this business. We do want to give credit to the other parts that were done correctly, she provided the specific flowers we asked for and the overall arrangements looked nice. We had no issues with any other vendors and we have all the texts, emails and proposals to back up this review. read more

If I could give this review zero stars, I would. To say our process with Stephanie was easy and enjoyable would be an absolute lie. I was very skeptical about going with her (per the previous bad reviews I had read) but was reassured that she had changed. I should've listened to those negative reviews. We decided to go with Lavender and Lace because she was our most affordable option. After our first meeting with her, I had a very uneasy feeling. Throughout the entire meeting, I felt like she and I were not on the same page. She was all over the place. She was trying to pull up pictures on her iPad for reference that were extremely blurry and had nothing to do with what I was asking for. She was very disorganized, and I felt like she wasn't taking note of the things I was saying to her. When we received our first proposal from her, there were so many changes that needed to be made. I went ahead and sent an email bullet point by bullet point of the exact changes that I wanted to be made and waited for the next proposal to be emailed to us. This went on for about three months. Every single proposal that was sent to me was not correct and did not reflect the changes that I had asked her to make. My mom came up to have a sit-down meeting with her in hopes that the changes that I wanted would be made. I took the proposal that she emailed me and edited over every single thing that I wanted, including pictures for reference. I watched her take notes on her iPad again, and when we received the proposal, it was still not correct. At this point, I was two months out from my wedding and panicking. My mom and I decided to type up our own proposal, including pictures, the types of flowers, and the amount of each thing that we needed to hopefully get the message across to her. The following proposal that she sent us after that was still not correct. 10 days out from my wedding she decided to take matters into her own hands and tell me that she did not want to repurpose my aisle arrangements into centerpieces. Something that had been communicated to me since day one and was the plan the entire time. She told me that she wanted to focus on making really nice centerpieces instead of aisle arrangements since the "ceremony was only 30 minutes". My aisle arrangements were going to have longer florals that I was told would be removed for the reception centerpieces. She decided last minute that she didn't want to do that anymore and made that decision for me. She was rude and condescending over the phone and did not let me get a word in. She told me she "didn't want to hear me complain" on my wedding day because there would be gaps in centerpieces after removing the long stem florals. You do not do that to a bride 10 days before her wedding. In the midst of all of these changes not being made, she continued to spam our email with invoices, expecting us to pay. Fast forward to my actual wedding day. Out of the five corsages that I had ordered only three people received theirs before the ceremony. My grandmother never received one at all. The corsages looked absolutely nothing like the pictures that I had asked for and half of them fell off throughout the night. The arch was not stabilized into the ground. Family members expressed their concern to Sydonie employees before the ceremony even began, stating that the wind was going to blow the arch over, and they were told that Stephanie was aware of this and that it wasn't going to happen. In the middle of my vows, the arch started to tip over. The best man had to hold the arch up, and Stephanie decided to run out and try to stabilize it. She was not dressed like any of the other vendors but instead decided to wear workout clothes with a white baseball hat. She told the best man to let go of the arch and that it was fine. She pushed it against the cement block and walked away. A couple of minutes later, a huge hydrangea from my arch fell into our officiant's book while we were saying our vows. All of these are going to be in my wedding video. The aisle arrangements had very minimal florals, something that I specifically said I did not want. The foam box in the aisle arrangements was visible for guests to see, another thing that I expressed to her that I did not want and was assured that I would not receive. My bouquet was the same size as my bridesmaids and was nothing like the reference picture that I showed her. Two days after my wedding, I emailed her, expressing my concerns and how disappointed we were with the service that we received. She completely ignored that. I gave her about a day and decided to text her. She opened my message and left me on read. So unprofessional. Overall, this experience with Stephanie was probably the worst experience that I've had throughout my entire wedding planning process. Stephanie needs to hire more help. Do yourself a favor and go with the more expensive florist because you get what you pay for, and Stephanie made that very clear. read more

After reading the other reviews it appears Stephanie has a common theme of not using the flowers that were quoted and discussed on your wedding day. I wanted 2 very specific flowers used in my bridesmaids bouquets that were then going to be centerpieces. She used totally different flowers and didn't mention or discuss with me prior. It was a total shock on my wedding day. I'm not sure if she just made the executive decision to choose cheaper flowers so she could make extra money but it was very disappointing. Their bouquets were not as full as discussed and some flowers were already beginning to wilt. She was very scatter brained it seemed and often forgot things we had already discussed even though they were in emails and her personal notes. I chose her because she does hanging wisteria that I love and had an arch that I wanted. Which looked beautiful but are also fake flowers so it's hard to mess up. I gave her 2 stars because my bridal bouquet was beautiful. Just beware that if you choose her you will have added stress due to having to have multiple phone calls and emails to hope she gets your vision right and then potentially be disappointed on your wedding day. read more

Stephanie was very snobby and rude on the phone. Not helpful at all with my requests. I filled out her form and completed what I was looking for. She acted so confused about what I wanted for my wedding even though it was filled out for her to see. She was confused as to why I didn't have bridesmaid bouquets. I'm not having a bridal party, so obviously not needed. The way she spoke to me was very snobbish when she said "we have a minimum and I just don't do bridal bouquets and a few flowers". That's fine if you have a minimum, but maybe spell that out from the beginning. I'm in the wedding industry myself and make my minimum clear to brides so that I'm not wasting anyone's time. Nor would I EVER talk to any potential clients in the way she did to me making them feel less than. Looking at these other 1 star reviews, it looks like I dodge a major headache. read more

Very unprofessional, did not bring correct vases and only after my insistence went and got correct vases for the reception. The flowers she used were not the same as she had quoted. At our meeting with her she took lots of notes, I don't know if she got our order mixed up with someone else or what but there were lots of mistakes. There were yellow flowers in the arrangements, there were supposed to be blush and cream. The bride's bouquet was supposed to be flowy, even though it was pretty it was nosegay shape. The flowers on the welcome sign were a joke. A skinny branch of greenery with one tiny flower. The flowers on the pergola were beautiful and she did a good job transferring them to the sweetheart table. All in all the flowers were not horrible, but certainly not was decided upon at our meeting. Also, flowers were pretty much dead by 11 pm the night of the wedding.
