The doctor spent an hour with me, first thoroughly explaining hypnotherapy using analogies I could understand. He then led me through the therapy, during which I was in control the whole time. The doc stated that not everyone needs to come back for more than one session. However, as a 30+ year smoker, I plan on returning once or twice more for a tune up and to keep me on the right path. I appreciated that this decision was entirely my own. I have not just quit smoking, I am done with it forever. I have found using hypnotherapy to accomplish this a very fascinating process.
