My family and I took took the farm tour. Our guide was nice and knowledgeable about the farm and lavender. However, I thought that the tour was pretty short for the price. I think if it included harvesting some lavender for a small personal bouquet, it would be worth it. The shop has lavender products for sale. I was hoping for more food with lavender as an ingredient.

Very beautiful lavender field. The plants are very well organized into sections where you can see the shapes and fields that they create. The gift shop was nice too, it had a lot of lavender themed items, including many perfumes, bouquets, drinks, and more. I bought the lavender lemonade and it was very sweet. You can tell the employees take good care of the lavender because the plants are very bright and vibrant. Very great place for instagram worthy pictures. Worth the drive!

A great place to visit! Loved seeing the beautiful lavender fields and was impressed with the numerous fragrant items in the gift shop. It also is a great romantic destination. Would recommend!

While these rolling hills of lavender are only in bloom about one month out of the year, their shop is alive with hundreds of lavender-based items; everything from soaps to sea salt, ice cream to shampoo. The shop is normally located in a tiny building on the property, but during COVID19, they opened it up by moving it into their gorgeous events barn, allowing everything to be much more spread out. It is decorated beautifully and open to the outside. The barn on the property has been redone in the inside and is full of twinkle lights. They host many weddings and events here, and even had a bingo game going in the middle of the day on a Tuesday. They also had candlelight yoga booked for that night for the community. How fun! I love that it's free to park and walk onto the lavender fields, just to look. You'll be tempted by a lavender soda at the shop, and usually there's a really fun tire swing to swing from (but it's been put up during COVID19) as well. Have a lovely hour or so here!

We came here at 11am on a Saturday and it was a perfect beautiful day! Not too crowded at this time which was great. Enjoyed picking our own lavender, walked around the fields, and then cooled off with some lavender ice cream and lemonade! Highly recommend trying the lavender vodka. We will definitely be back to enjoy the tour around the farms when we have more time.

It's definitely an experience. Specifically at night. Even on sold out night its fun because of the open space. Great date night. A lot of cute selfie spots. Must visit

What a fun day we enjoyed at Lavender Hill Farm. We were fortunate enough to visit during prime Lavender blooms but I'm sure the farm would be wonderful any time (weather permitting). With a golf-cart tour of the growing areas, shopping in the renovated barn, and even some U-pick fun it would have been sufficient for a good time, but check out the website for the many, MANY, other activities that take it even further. From concerts to yoga to craft and cooking classes......this place is special. Every person we encountered working was helpful and seemed happy to be on the farm. This makes a huge difference in how we felt as visitors and I hope means that the owners are generous, kind employers. We left with two Lavender Sodas (excellent), some Lavender Hydrosol and a candle. I would buy each of these again.

I'd been to lavender farms before but never lucked out to visit when the lavender is blooming until now. We drove from Ohio to Michigan to spend a week at the Upper P. We stopped by here on our way up and lucked out to have a good amount of the lavender already in bloom. they were having a wedding in the barn when we stopped by but they were kind enough to say we could still check out the lavender field and gift shop. it was a lovely place and the staff were also lovely. .. very welcoming and helpful. lots of bees .. you could hear them in the hives. I don't mind bees but if you have an allergy it wouldn't be the place to visit. :) lots of lavender products in the gift shop.

What a cute place! Take a short tour via golf cart with one of the guides to learn about lavender and how they grow and some history of their farm. Then visit the little shop for all the lavender products you can think of! What a fun time.

Nice place to take the kiddos - face painting, mini farm tours and fun activities for the family. But way overpriced for any product. We were disappointed in the staff as they were unwilling to accommodate our blue-green membership which offers - a small sachet gift with purchase. While purchasing our item at the register they decided we must spend a particular amount to receive our "guaranteed gift" (which was not specified on our membership list). It was not really a big deal to forego the gift... it was more the principal that they were not capable of providing proper customer service considering how over priced everything already was,

When is the lavender in full bloom?

If you are familiar with Northern Michigan, you know that our weather is not always predictable, and weather determines our blooming schedule. For the best chance to catch our farm in its fullest bloom, we suggest planning a visit for July however… Read more

I bought a corgi pin for $2 here (I love corgis) and wanted some of the prints/artwork too, but they were a bit pricey. They also have earrings/jewelry and a nice selection of Petoskey and non-Petoskey related gifts. The only reason I'm giving it 4/5 stars and not 5/5 is because they obviously have a bathroom, and it says OUT OF ORDER, but my guess is that it's not (where else would the employees go?) and perhaps that's COVID-related ... which is fine, but maybe just put EMPLOYEES ONLY instead. We went next door to Grandpa Shorter's and the employee there recommended the public bathrooms to us, so we took a bit of a hike down the street to the lake instead (pro tip: next time just go next door to the bookstore, they have one in the basement!). So yeah, I was a bit disappointed by that ... I could be totally wrong on this speculation but I've seen other businesses do that too. Other than that, very nice shop and they have super cute stuff, so I'd return next time I'm in Petoskey.

Celebrating Michigan through and through…read more Overall, this is a super cute gift shop that differs from the glut of touristy t-shirt & souvenir shops dominating the main drag in Mackinaw City. I came across this Made in Michigan shop, located in the Mackinaw Crossings outdoor mall, while on vacation at the end of the summer as I was shopping for something more unique, something that didn't scream "you've just bought a tacky souvenir at a tourist trap." After looking around for a few minutes, I could tell there was nothing tacky or "tourist trap" about this shop. Sure, they sold some t-shirts with a distinct Michigan feel (better quality than most of the local t-shirt shops dotting the street), but beyond that there were hand carved wood chopping boards shaped like the Michigan mitten, seasonings, dressings and jams all produced in Michigan kitchens, unique jewelry, artwork and toss pillows in a nautical theme, clearly a nod to Michigan's "Great Lakes" heritage, and plenty of DIY/upcycled home decor, including old Michigan license plates turned into wall hangings. True to its name, everything sold in this store is 100% Michigan made, be it artwork, pottery, glassware, home decor/crafts, jewelry, candles, soaps, clothing, food items and more. In other words, if they sell it, it was made in Michigan. I liked not only the concept, but the execution as well. This store did more than just pay lip service to the idea of selling only Michigan-made products by local artisans. It delivered on all counts, including quality, selection and price. Despite being a gift shop in a popular Upper Michigan tourist town and selling only handmade products made by some of Michigan's finest crafters, artists, etc (not a single commercial/big box retail item is sold in this shop), the prices were quite affordable, surprisingly low, in fact. Truthfully, I expected the prices to be much higher and I would have gladly paid for such high quality, original pieces, though I was secretly jumping for joy at how decent the price point on most things were. I picked up a dainty "upcycled DIY" necklace for myself for $18, some homegrown jam, fridge magnets (about $2 apiece), and a limited edition print (by a fairly well-known Northern Michigan artist). When all was said and done, I dropped less than $80. It's hard to spend under that just walking into any gift shop in Mackinaw City without buying anything more than a cheap t-shirt and some fudge. In my opinion, it was money well-spent. I believe there is an official Made in Michigan Store "sister" location in Grand Rapids that is open year-round that sells a very similar product line as well, based on what the salesperson at the register told me as she was wrapping up my items.
