I came by here to get my hair done for an event. Let me begin by saying I made the appt the day before and I was lucky to find out they had availability. There was a little confusion throughout the day because of other appts and I was grateful they were able to work with me around those setbacks. When I was able to see David I was absolutely and utterly impressed by the way he listened to what I wanted and the look I was going for. He by far exceeded my expectations and my hair came out absolutely perfect!! I will definitely be coming back to him for future hair appointments!! Thank you David!! Rude staff. Poor scheduling. Every time i waited for over 30 min for lashes. One time they told me my lash technician no longer worked there 30 min after my appointment, they had me come in next day. When i arrived i had to wait another 30 min. Staff was never friendly. I only stayed because i found one caring staff member, Anahi. Then to add salt to the wound, after paying $190 for the hatchet and chemical job they only offer a $95 refund. Horrible service. Terrible attitudes. I have been going here for a few months to get my eyebrows threaded, Anahi (who is a recent hire) does an amazing job, which is why I always keep coming back to her. She is easygoing and listens to what you want, she never assumes things for you and even takes her time to stop and ask if you are okay with her work. Ehh... My experience here has been sub-par. I've had eyelash extensions for several years, and have moved to McAllen from Utah, and have been looking for a new lash place. Prices are about the same for what I was paying for back at home, and I actually really liked the quality of the lashes, and how good they looked. Service however is where I can't decide if I want to come back. The first visit was great! I ended up getting $10 off my first fill with them since my lashes from my previous lash technician in Utah we're still full, and the appointment was about 30 minutes instead of the scheduled 45. Second visit was completely different. I had my appointment set for 10:00AM, and the door was locked. Ended up waiting in my car for another 10 minutes until employees finally arrived. So the time is now 10:10, and the lash technician I scheduled with is on the phone at the front desk I believe calling clients, who knows. Another five to ten minutes later she finally calls me to get seated to start my lash fill. Everything was fine, but then she got up during my appointment time to call another client, which took her another couple of minutes from my appointment time. And once again the work the lash technician provided was great, however it ended up taking an hour and a half, which was originally scheduled for a 45 minute appointment. It's a shame because the atmosphere of this business is nice, and the services I received were high quality, but I don't think it's worth it to me if my appointment time isn't dedicated JUST to me. read more

This place is so amazing! This is "the Mecca" a for bridal hair and makeup in the RGV. Mary Chapa and her team did my hair and makeup for my wedding a couple years back before she opened up her salon so when my little sister's big day came, there was no question where to go. They are very profession and quick with event hair and makeup. They also use great long lasting products! I recommend the airbrushed makeup. I had my makeup done at 10am and it still looked flawless at 2am!! I didn't want to wash it off!! As for hair, they do amazing updo's which is what I had done with both of my experiences with this team, although my sister had her hair styled down and it looked beautiful! They also have some hair accessories for sale to achieve your desires look. My other sister was signed up for hair and makeup but had a nail crisis; they were able to squeeze her in to do a quick shellac polish change on a busy Saturday morning in between bridal parties! This place makes magic happen and I highly recommend it! read more

If you've gone to their Facebook page and seen the pictures, at first glance, it looks amazing! So when I wanted to get a Dutch braid this past Sunday (they're not usually open but they opened it for me), I decided to try this place out. Unfortunately, I didn't have that great of an experience. When I saw it from the outside and from the inside just walking in, my first impression was that this place was expensive and fancy which I loved because I'm a sucker for great interior design so that's what the first two stars are there for. But now that I've told you the good, I have to move on with the bad. When I walked in, their were only two girls on staff (which is totally fine in this occasion because they aren't usually open on Sunday's to begin with). One who was doing my hair and the other who had her toddler with her. The one who did my hair (I think her name is Amy) only spoke Spanish, which sucked because I don't speak Spanish but since it's the valley, that shouldn't be a problem for most. The next thing that I wasn't to crazy about, was that when I asked her for a Dutch braid, she had no idea what I was talking about and I don't think she knew how to do it because it came out looking like a regular French double braid when I was looking for more of a Dutch braid that looked more like khloe kardashians Dutch braid that she wears a lot. I showed her pictures but she still didn't get it. She had to redo it 3 times but even then, it not only didn't come out how I wanted it, she parted my hair crooked. Instead of parting it down the middle, she parted it half an inch to the right side of the middle. So it looked lopsided when it was finished I felt bad to tell her to redo it because she tried already 2 other times so I decided to just bite the bullet and go with it. But that wasn't even the worst part! As soon as I'm done and I asked for the price, they stunned me completely when they told me that it was $40!!! It's not even that hard to do either! I could've done it myself but I thought that it would be more even and precise here but unfortunately that wasn't the case. I thought it was going to be $15 but instead, she said that it is $20 per braid!!! I couldn't believe it! I had to pay $40 plus tip for my half ass done hair, plus the whole time she was talking with her coworker and it seemed like it was making her do a bad job. Overall, I was really disappointed with my experience I was expecting quality braids but instead I got okay braids. It was totally not worth the cost and if I knew it was going to be that much, I would've gone somewhere else and probably paid less for a better job. Both ladies were sweet but when it comes to my particular service that I was given, I was not impressed. Even though I had a shitty experience, I might give them another try for a different type of service during their regular hours. read more

Went in with blonde hair and brown roots. I told AMY I just wanted the blonde brought up higher so it could blend in with my roots better and I wanted my hair a platinum blonde not anything dark ESPECIALLY NOT GREEN OR BLUE. She turned my hair GREEN it looks absolutely horrible, they wouldn't give me a full refund. I paid 190$ and they only gave me 95$ back. So I basically paid AMY $95 to turn my hair GREEN and BLUE. HORRIBLE COSTUMER SERVICE. AMY said she could wash it with a "shampoo" to take off the color and came back with PEROXIDE in her hand. Which she would NOT have told me if I didn't ask! Very DISHONEST. Got my hair and makeup done for my bridal shower and wedding with Mary (on makeup) and her mom (on hair) and got soooo many compliments and inquiries about where I went! 5 of my bridesmaids plus my mom, grandma, and aunt all got their MU&Hair done for the wedding without minding the high price because they loved their work for my bridal shower so much! I wanted my hair done to be a half-up braided crown and had such a hard time finding a place who did it well (even went to some places that PURPOSELY did a crap job to get out of doing my hair January 1st) but Mary's mom did it exactly how I wanted it! Not going to lie, it's pretty pricey, but for swooping in last minute and doing what I thought was going to end up being impossible, I really don't mind! I had really high expectations for this place after seeing their Facebook page and seeing some of the work they had done before. When I drove up to the place and walked inside I was even more impressed with the building and interior design. But so sad to say that the attitudes and customer service was the worst I've seen. These women know nothing at all about customer service. I along with several other woman were waiting for make up with one of the estheticians. It looks like she had overbooked and we all had weddings we needed to be at. Finally after an hour and half another lady from the business next door had come to help and ended up doing my make up( she did a great job but she doesn't work there ) When back there the esthetician I had booked with was texting in between every application and then would go get her baby from the back and hold her while she had a customer in the chair with her eyes closed. She didn't care that she had several other woman waiting for make up. This place is tacky. Don't recommend and will never go back. read more
