I don't take writing a review like this lightly, and it genuinely disappoints me that I feel compelled to do so, but here I am. First and foremost, Mr. Weimer is a good person. However, my experience with him in a family law matter did not meet the level of advocacy required, especially in a high-conflict custody case. Throughout my case, I consistently struggled to receive meaningful legal analysis or a clear, proactive strategy. Communication often felt like a relay of opposing counsel's positions rather than actual advocacy. In multiple instances, I found myself drafting the substance of responses, which were then sent to opposing counsel with little to no substantive legal refinement or independent input. I raised this concern more than once, yet the pattern continued, communications closely mirrored my original language rather than reflecting strategic legal counsel. Family law, particularly custody litigation, requires decisive action, forward planning, and the ability to push back effectively. In my experience, that level of representation was not present. There were also notable delays in advancing key aspects of the case, including a failure to draft a requested stipulation. This left me entering critical stages of the process without defined terms, often feeling as though things were being handled reactively rather than strategically. What ultimately made the difference clear was the contrast after I changed counsel. In a single day with my new attorney, more substantive progress was made than in the year-plus I was represented by Mike. That level of movement and clarity underscored what had been missing throughout my case. I would not recommend Mr. Weimer for high-conflict custody matters or, frankly, for contested family law cases in general. In contrast, during a brief court appearance handled by his office partner, Kelly, I saw a noticeable difference in advocacy and effectiveness in just that one instance. Again, I do not question Mr. Weimer character. However, based on my experience, I would only recommend him for more amicable matters or areas outside of contested family law, where a high level of strategic advocacy is not required. read more

Mr. Weimer is an awesome attorney. I hired him to help me through a divorce and then again with a child support issue. Mr. Weimer was extremely professional and got me through a difficult process. I would highly recommend Michael Weimer as your attorney. My 22 year old daughter and I live in Louisiana but we are from California. My daughter was visiting family in the Oakdale area in October. Out of youthful indiscretion, she did donuts in an empty parking lot. A police officer saw her and ticketed her. This is a misdemeanor offense and considered reckless driving. She appeared in front of a judge in January via a Zoom meeting. The judge referred her case to the public defender's office and set another court date for days later. The public defender's office told us that we did not need to appear in court and someone would contact her. No one contacted us before her scheduled court date and time. This resulted in a bench warrant being issued for her arrest. I contacted Michael Weimer's office. They immediately contacted me back. Michael assured me that under a certain penal code, that he could represent my daughter. At the next court date, he got the bench warrant rescinded and filed for discovery (information that the DA's office had). Another court date was set and when it came, the case was deferred and another court date set. Michael suggested that my daughter take a California Safe Driving Course and a Life Skills Course before her next court date. She did and Michael brought her completed course certificates with him to the next court date. The DA dismissed her case to our utter relief and delight. This was a hard lesson for my young adult daughter but Michael walked us through it. He was incredibly communicative in a very timely manner. He was kind and compassionate. He was knowledgeable and had a good legal strategy that worked in our case. I highly recommend Michael Weimer as an attorney. read more
