I was skeptical about using an agent but my mom was excited about it and trusted Kelly completely. Unfortunately nearly every part of our trip was frustrating and a bad experience. The resort booked for use] was truly awful. I contacted Kelly to let her know we wanted to explore options for changing resorts, indicating we were willing to pay to do so and just wanted to know our options. Kelly was actually in the Dominican Republic (as were we) at the time and seemed really irritated by me asking for help. Other guests we spoke to at the resort had contacted their agents to find out about changing resorts as well and were given prompt, courteous, and helpful service. Initially Kelly just encouraged us to work it out with the resort. When I told her that we'd already spoken to concierge and resort staff and were disappointed in the response and just wanted to know our options for changing resorts, Kelly told us that someone from Vacation Express or Sunwing would contact us within the hour to discuss options. I never heard from anyone and told Kelly this. She didn't offer any other solutions. My mother texted her making a comment that suggested it was getting somewhat better. Kelly seemed to take that as an opportunity to not have to follow up at all or do what I had asked her multiple times over several hours, which was provide us with options for changing resorts. It was particularly frustrating that it seemed like she had no interest in helping find solutions to make us more comfortable because she was a friend of my mother's. It had been my understanding that the idea of having a travel agent was to assist with travel and our needs were definitely not met. This was supposed to be a special trip for my mother and I. Our whole experience was disappointing. I will never use Main Street Travel again and likely will never use a travel agent at all again.

Since we had an evening flight leaving Luxor, she arranged for a later checkout, and the hotel was so accommodating that they even offered us an extended stay option for a very reasonable price. That allowed us to relax at the hotel, spend time by the pool, and unwind before my partner flew back to the U.S. and I continued on to South Africa. What stood out most was how attentive she was at every stage. She checked in on us before we left, while we were in travel, when we arrived, during the trip, and even after we got home. She also made sure all the vendors she worked with took care of us and lived up to the same standard of service. I honestly could not have planned a trip like this on my own without pouring in a huge amount of time and energy I did not want to spend. With Ta-Tanisha, everything just flowed.
