"Dentistry with a caring heart" my foot!! If it were possible I would give this place zero stars. Our TechGirls STEM camp were on our way back from a field trip at Argonne. Two of our girls had a bathroom emergency and could not wait until we got back to the school. We had to pull over... Lawn Dental Center was the first business we saw. Upon entering we were asked if we had an appointment. I explained our situation, and was told that they do not have public restrooms. Finally, the owner allowed one girl to use the restroom but refused to let the other child! A CHILD!!! In front of her staff and an office full of patients she was irate and yelled about how the first child "messed up the bathroom". I basically begged Dr. Rita Bagdasarian-Olono to reconsider her policy and let the other child use the restroom. She yelled and told us to leave AND called the police. UNBELIEVABLE. DONT GO THERE!!? One of the worst dentist ever! I went there the first time to have an exam and find out if I would eligible for braces. He sweet talked me into getting braces the same day and said he would fix my protruding teeth. 2 years later when I reminded him of it, he told he never recalled saying that. He also promised to take out some teeth to close the gaps, you guessed it he never did. Fast forward a year later, I decide to return for just a filling, he does not care about his patients, always in a rush . You are dealing with teeth!!! This is not the place to rush. Now 2 weeks later, my teeth hurt and I can barely eat. I wish he would go out of business because he is absolutely not in it to help people have healthy teeth. I love Dr. Charlie, he is amazing he wants to take the time to help his patients. He is willing to go above and beyond to provide the most thorough care for his patients. Unfortunately for him and for a lot of patients his staffare rude and very low willed. I have been to this dentist six times and two of the times I had to reschedule because the girl in front informed me they book multiple patients for one timeslot. another time when I was actually seen I noticed the girls were Facebooking patients and making fun of them including mentioning that most of them go to the clinic money but the girl that handles the finances had to chase them down while they were out shopping and going out. They were constantly stating that they were going to call the Labor Department because they were overworked and tired of being deducted from the check. It's a shame that they feel that way because it is sorely reflecting Dr. Charlie's practice. They constantly throw down instruments and throw things up patients and anger. It's unfortunate that they don't take the time to look for another job while there so uncomfortable at this one but instead take it out on the patients. Hearing the staff constantly complain that they are forceto work overtime without pain makes me want to switch dentist. I don't want to because I have been coming to this assistant for the last two years and no they are making it even more awkward than they were before including publicly humiliating the doctor by stating they were going to tell his wife Rita that he undercharges patients.and that it is reflecting on their paycheck it's sad to have such a great dentist with such pathetic assistance. If it continues to be like this when I take my daughter and for her visit I might just have to find another dentist. They should also stop assuming that because one has Caucasian features doesn't mean that we don't understand that they are cussing at us in Spanish. Dr. Charly is an amazing dentist and it is truly truly overshadowed by his assistance poor attitude and work ethic. I never write reviews but I think that how bad these assistance are should be mentioned prior to a first visit. And more than likely your first visit is going to be 2 to 3 weeks out because the receptionist has poor planning and booking skills. She also constantly mentions that she should be overcharging patients just because of how they look it's sad but true. The worst dental experience I've ever had in my life. I originally went here cause I was looking to get some braces. So I requested a consultation with Dr. Olono. When I got there he seemed very nice, I liked the environment of the office the dental assistants and receptionists were really nice. So when I went in to my consultation Dr. Olono told me that I would need to get some work done before putting my braces, I agreed. I explained to him that I didn't have any money at the time, but he was persistent in me starting my services here. At the time it appeared that he really cared but later I felt that wasn't the case. So right after my braces consultation he recommended that I get a new filling that same day for one of my teeth were the filling came out a while back. He said he would sign me up for care credit and if approved he would do all my dental work needed before I got the braces. So I agreed to this and he set me up through Care Credit that same day and he went ahead and did my filling. At this point I was excited to return and finish up the rest of my work. Mind you this was my first visit to this office and I though I'd just found the best dentist in the world. I WAS WRONG. My next visit to the dental office it was like a complete 360. Dr. Olono was like a completely different person, he was very cold and direct like he didn't want to be bothered. I noticed at the time he had at least 3-4 other patients in other rooms so I figured maybe he was stressed due to work load. I was here on this day to get one of my teeth pulled that had been causing me trouble for a while. So when he came into my room he was very cold and direct and nothing like the warm caring dentist I'd just met a few weeks ago. He gave me an anesthetic and left the room. I sat there for about 15-20 minutes waiting for the anesthesia to kick in. He came back to the room about 23 minutes late and appeared to be in a rush. FIRST RED FLAG I SHOULD'VE GOTTEN THE HELL OUT OF THERE. He didn't ask me how I was feeling or anything like that I just got a "lets get this shit over with" vibe. He had his assistant prep everything which went ok for the most part. I opened my mouth and he proceeded the process of removing my tooth. Mind you I was terrified and shaking at that time he told me it was a reaction to the anesthesia. So while he was in the process of removing my tooth he had to stop several times due to the structure of my tooth and how bad it had gotten. When I tell you that this idiot doctor yanked on my tooth for about 10 minutes was the most excruciating thing I've ever dealt with, he yanked at my mouth so hard and with such force my head jerked back and forth.it was like a carpenter trying to removed a nail stuck in a wooden board. I felt so bad I cried through this whole process. What made this experience even worse is having to hear my tooth crackle in pieces during this process. This man was clearly in a rush and I feel if you are a dentist or any type of doctor for that matter how can you rush something like this, it makes it extremely uncomfortable for the patient. So once he finally removed my tooth (30 minutes later) he left quickly without even saying goodbye, his assistant cleaned me up and prescribed me some pain medication. She scheduled me for my next visit for a nerve cleaning. I started to say never mind and plan on never returning tho this place, but I already had the care credit set up so technically the services were already paid for. Fast forward 3 weeks later I'm here again in the dungeon of doom. I'm here for my nerve cleaning hoping this time the experience would be better. Went through the same process, Dr. Olono gave me some anesthesia he left for about 15 minutes and came back, he proceeded to pick at the nerve in my tooth but apparently the anesthetic he gave me wasn't working and I felt pain everytime he touched my tooth, so then he proceeded to give me a little more anesthetic and we waited another 15 minutes and still no relief from the pain so we decided to not proceed with the procedure. This was my last time visiting this office. I really felt like Dr. Olono is just in it for the money. This is just based off my several visits to his office, I've been to several dentists and I've never been treated or had services like this. I would never recommend him to anyone. At the recommendation of a family friend I brought my daughter here for braces and I had a root canal started on myself.....MISTAKE! This office is dated and the waits are always...and I do mean ALWAYS ridiculously LONG. They schedule between 8-10 people for the same appointment times and they operate on a first come, first served basis. If you have an appointment at 12, my advice is to get there at 10 and expect to be there until 3 or 4. Dr. Olono starts as this positive voice of assurance and reason but after you let him start working on you, he turns into a judgmental, overbearing bully and all he wants to know (before each and every single exam/cleaning/etc.) is "do you still have insurance?" In 2013 I had an insurance plan and he was in network so, since i was bringing my daughter for a braces consultation, i decided to allow him to examine me. He insisted that I needed a root canal which he could begin immediately. I let him start on me and we decided to finish at my next visit. There were jagged pieces of tooth scratching my inner jaw and the plaster stuff he put over the root canal immediately started chipping away. I returned within days to have these issues resolved. My daughter had some periodontal issues that needed to be corrected before the braces could go on and rather than explain what can be done to combat this issue, Dr. Olono constantly scolds, belittles, and fusses at her for her gum disease. He took to brushing overly hard to prove that if her gums don't bleed then she isn't brushing correctly...(his words). This is his solution to fixing periodontal disease....brush hard til your gums bleed. No antibiotics or other medical advise....just brush your gums til they bleed. Fast forward, the gum issue is under control and she now has braces. After more than a year a couple of braces fixtures came off (one came off at home and the other Dr. Olono knocked off while cleaning) and he scolded us for it, saying that he was doing us a "favor" by putting them back on....um, sir, I'm both PAYING OUT OF POCKET and with my insurance for your service. You're not doing me any favors here. When I've complained about the service and treatment to him, he always talks about the break he gave us on prices for his services but who asked you for a break? Not me. I accepted the prices that were quoted and paid them without fail. I would have paid more if more was quoted. you're not doing me any favors in any way, shape or form. I haven't returned to him for any work on myself but because of insurance issues (namely, i've exhausted all of the orthodontics allotment) I'm stuck with him for my daughter's braces. Each and every single time I go into this office I leave upset, swearing that I'll never return. I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone for anything ever. read more

He over books people, takes emergency walk-ins and is completely unorganized. Plan to wait 4 hours every time minimum guaranteed. Don't ever go thinking you'll run in and out. I was told the 4th time I went there (all for one crown) it would take an hour to two. I was there for over 5 hours. My experience was several years back. I had a coupon from a local paper for a cleaning and exam for $45. Since i had no insurance, I thought I would try them. First of all, an appointment means nothing to these people. I arrived early for my appointment, yet waited over 90 minutes in a noisy crowded waiting room like it was the free clinic. After waiting this long, I was called in, but just to get X-Rays. I have trouble taking X-Rays, so the dental assistant used a different method. I was sent back out into the waiting room for another half hour. When I was called in to see the dentist, she started yelling at the dental assistant for using the other, more expensive method on me. She sent me back out into the waiting room. I had not seen a dentist in a couple of years. She told me that I had 5 cavities and needed a full-mouth scaling (a deep cleaning). It would cost over $2,000, money that I did not have. She reluctantly gave me a regular cleaning. Jump forward a year-and-a-half later when I finally had insurance again, I saw a different dentist who said that I had one cavity and did not need a dental scaling. I should also mention that had I not had a coupon, my bill would have been over $250 for an X-Ray, cleaning and exam (plus a fluoride treatment that was done without my consent or knowledge). They charge downtown prices, yet keep patients waiting hours. Go figure. read more

I had tooth pain while I was on a business trip out of town, once I made it back to Chicago it was friday night and I really needed to got to a dentist before the weekend was over, so I called 1800-Dentist and they got me in touch with the Lawn Dental Center. They were so friendly and told me to come in saturday morning. Dr. Olono (Charley) explained in detail what needed to get done and performed an emergency root canal. He also advised me to pull the wisdom tooth next to it, which we did in a separate appointment last night. I have always been afraid of dentists and I am so happy to have found Lawn Dental Center, Charley took his time to ensure I was not feeling any pain and it calmed me down. He also told me if there are any issues to call him directly - even after hours or on the weekend. The staff is also really friendly and reviewed the charges for the procedures in detail with me - I was pleasantly surprised, it was very affordable in comparison to what I have paid at other dentists. Lawn Dental Center also offers payment plans. Lawn Dental Center will be my new dentist office from now on! read more

Two of my siblings received braces here so I decided to give it a chance. Olono seems very nice, but I can assure you he does not give a damn about anyone but himself. If you come here, be prepared to wait 2+ hours for an appointment. If his assistant who is seemingly more knowledgeable is off, 3+ hours. I left my braces treatment and am now under care at a REAL orthodontist. I have seen better results in 2 months, than two years at Lawn Dental. Olono is not trained to properly straighten teeth with braces, and will use an echain to close gaps without properly tipping the root of the tooth. The last appointment I had before I made the greatest decision to switch I needed to reschedule, and the disgusting, ignorant desk girl Julie said I couldn't reschedule for another month. Mixed review..Dr. olono did a great job with my wisdom teeth extractions and fillings. Customer Service is lacking. Depending on the day and procedure the service can be somewhat descent to borderline abusive. If you make an appointment, prepare to wait at least an hour to be seen. It's a long wait in the wait area and another in the exam room. My last experience was a root canal that was stretched out over 5 visits. In the end he did not glue the crown and post correctly in place. After making a "deal" for $1400 I got a bruised jaw, infection and a crooked crown that will need to be reset. Yay! read more

The worst decision I have ever made was going to this place!! The staff are all rude.... The wait time is the worst, be prepared to sit in there for 4 hours even if you have an appointment. The doctor is always rushing because he is overbooked. Its not worth the couple of dollars you think you are saving. Need to say I called and spoke with a receptionist who stated she would have to speak with the manager, (I did not need to come in right away since it being 8:00 PM I know its unlikely to find a dentist this late). The manager quickly answered and said 2x "Hello" and proceeded to hang up. I thought it was a bad line , so I called once more and received no answer, then on my third attempt someone different answered and stated she can schedule an appointment tomorrow morning.Now at this point I would have scheduled an appointment but being that the third person I spoke with made it seemed like she knew what i was calling for I will not be coming in as a patient. My initial consultation everything went smooth he explained what I needed would cost $1200( no insurance ) I agreed to have the work done and I was in and out of there in 1 hour . The first time I had some of the work done 2 hours for a deep cleaning of the top , the 2nd visit my appt. was @ 4:30 pm they sat me down 2 hours go by and no one checks up on me til I asked the dental assist. what's going on she then ask the dentist turns out no one mentioned to him he had a patient sitting there , I ended up getting out of there at 8 pm . I noticed I had constant pain after the procedure , made an appt , since they could not fit me in til 2 weeks after ok fine . Saw the dentist he prescribed some stronger flouride . The pain is still there So I went to see him again my appt was at 5:00 pm didn't get out of there until 7 pm to be told that I needed a root canal I tried to explain to him that all my teeth were in pain but he would not let me finish and it would cost me another $1200 . I think I've had enough of this place . I would like to let you know to be aware when setting up an appt . be prepared to be there a while They tell you need one thing done and it turns out you'll probably need more .
